        Hi guys,
        I'm new to this board and to Atkins. This is my fourth day on induction. It's been tough but I'm staying strong. My sister is on here all the time and she's truly the inspiration that got me started and lead me here.

        Anyway, hope that it's not too late to join the challenge. If not, my goal is to lose 35 pounds by New Years! I'll have to get some pointers from you every once in a while since I'm new at this whole thing, but I have read most of the book and Yoly has helped me A LOT!

        Glad that this board was out there. Going online has really helped me get through these last 4 days. Thanks to all of you and your great stories.

          Welcome Gabs, we're glad to have you! So is Yoly your sister? If so, you're in good company. Her progress is amazing and I'm sure yours will be as well. I have no doubt you can knock off 35 by New Years, especially if you just started (gotta love that Induction Whoosh!)

          I'm afraid to post this, but my new stats are:

          191/187.5/169 18.5 pounds to go until New Years! (Every time I get below 189, I just bounce right back up, so here's to hoping I keep on bouncing down.)

                  jsj! Holy smoly guacamole! Weigh to smack down that fat! And, no. You're not losing it too fast unless you feel light-headed and unhealthy. How do you feel? If you feel you are the snazz, then keep on losing that weight, girl!

                  womanpraised-- kudos to you and thank you for answering those questions. You know, I think you speak for a lot of us in your post when you write what you do. So many of us struggle with the same struggles and endure the same ordeals. Reading what you've written helps us realize "Hey! We're not alone in the way we feel. Here's someone else who is struggling, right along with me". I hope the introspection helped you as much as it helps us! Thank you, again, for taking the time to write. It really makes a difference.                   rybread-- that is water weight. Unless you beg for me to I am not going to change your numbers because they are temporary and are no reflection of your overall success! I am excited to read that you are disappointed BUT that you are not giving up! If you ever feel close to caving, we'll get you through! ADBB saved me on Saturday from ordering a pizza!

                    I know I'm a little late but can I join? This looks like just the initiative I need. I hope to reach goal by New Years. That would be awesome. I started induction last Tuesday at 150lbs. and have since lost 9 pounds. So I still have 25 more to go. Sign me up!

                            suzy-- you are the cutest! *lol* I love your energy! I expect we'll see a lot more of it as these holidays roll in!

                            1) Go ahead and start checking into the 6 week exercise challenge. I'm late, too, but dad-gum it, I check in there everyday and still post my totals. It's bragging rights for a job well done! A new challenge will be starting in a week, so go ahead and just get into the habit now of signing in your exercise each day.

                            Another help is the president's challenge by 2big. You can earn medals (and they're cheap, not-for-porofit, but very cool). I've already earned my bronze and am working towards my silver! Wannabe is working towards her gold!

                            A whooshie is what happens after you stall for a little while and then suddenly one morning you wake up and are a few pounds down!

                            What usually happens is after a loss, your body tries to maintain weight by hanging onto water in the cells. Once it finally stubbornly lets go, you have a ';whooshie'. It's good to remember that in times of fluid retention you take your measurements, because otherwise you think you're not losing weight, but you're losing inches!
