    Re: The Biggest Loser Challenge

Boy. Last night was a major wakeup call.

I saw a program called "The Biggest Loser", and it was shocking for me.

I'd never seen the show before, and I was sure that everyone on that shoe, being ginormous, was going to be wayyy huger than me.

Reality check #1: I weigh more than half the women on that show. I was feeling pretty amazingly wonderful about my losses to date, until I saw these beautiful ladies who I was absolutely sure weighed more than me at my weight. Was I wrong! Many of them were as much as 20-30 pounds less than me... and they looked reaalllly overweight.

Reality Check #2: At my starting weight I weighed about as much as a couple of the guys on there. My jaw DROPPED. I couldn't believe I ever weighed so much and looked like a few of those guys! It really stung, seeing who could have been me on the television last night, at my starting point.

Reality Check #3: If I believe I can do it, I can do it, because they did: Those ladies and gentlemen were such inspirations to me. They worked SO hard, and their efforts paid off...in spades! They ate sensibly and they moved a lot more. I couldn't help but think had I tried that last year how much further I'd be now.

Reality Check #4: While I am depressed about where I've allowed myself to go, I need to be kind: Nobody beats me up as well as me. Nobody. In 3 weeks I've lost nearly 30 pounds, 21 of those in one week. How? By doing what they've been doing! I've had the secret to success at my fingertips and shoelaces all this time! I just didn't realize it until I watched those amazing people last night.

Reality Check #5: I am hooked on that show. I'm usually a Borg, but last night I had my eyes fill with tears more than once. Their journey is my journey. I'm going to continue to stick with them. To compete against them. To do the best that I can over the fduration of the show, because I know I am worthy. And if they can do it, so can I!

    We all can!

      Re: The Biggest Loser Challenge

      Hello Hello all,
Effie, thats a great idea about the pictures. I am thinking i should do that do take picture in the small clothes, great idea.....now all i need is courage to put it on here. LOL. Ill post your info after this post. Welcome aboard. this should be fun. and interesting.lol.

The show was awesome. I totally know where you are comming from asking "do i look like that?"

Hey Cleo you took the words right out of my mouth,
"Tonight I pushed myself really hard on the treadmill and did inclines 2-3! It was so hard, but I said to myself that if the people on that show can do it, then so can I!"
I started thinking to myself all these people lost that amount of weight in just one week, I believe someone on the show said it was really ten days, but they alost that amount in 10 days. I am really gonna have to up my slow A@*, and swing it over my shoulder and get to it.

I kinds guess right of who they were gonna kick off first and i though, ya if he had given alittle more effort they might have wont he. Then for some reason i startedt thinking, I wonder if any of the show members are members on here.
His after pictures were so amazing though, i was shocked.

Sparkles-dont think i forgot about you, i will add you to the first post info. welcome aboard. dont for get to get your measurements in please.

YO JULY WHERE YOU AT????? YOU LIKE THE SHOW?????

Hey Everyone!! I'm right here sista!!!!! Man I might not weigh as much as some of those people on the show BUT I SURE AS HECK LOOK LIKE IT that weighing in was after 10 days and if they can lose that much in only 10 days I CAN TOO. It is so depressing I have a job interview tomorrow and man... my skirts and pants fit tight from my big wide Kabooz.. it is so depressinggggggggggggggggggggggggg but I can do it. the eating is not a problem for me I just need to push myself on the workouts big time!

Effie..you cutie patootie!! What a kewl idea...I think those pictures will actually show more progress than clothes just getting looser...great thinking!

Cleo...RE: While I am depressed about where I've allowed myself to go, I need to be kind
about where you let yourself go?? Girl..that is in the past...change that stinkin' thinkin' right now!! That was then...the now of it is that you have been working hard on yourself and you have come a long way. You are doing what you need to do already...even before the inspiration of the show. It's not "where you let yourself go" it's where you are letting yourself go...with all the hard work you are willing to do and are doing and have done..it is nothing to be depressed about..it is to be excited about...celebrated even. You have come so far!!! And that in itself has helped and inspired many people here and they, in turn, are doing for others...and so the pond ripples...

And that goes for the rest of ya' too!!

Hi there I was wondering if I might join this challege. I think it sounds fun and nothing motivates me more than going head to head with others. So if you could add me in i would be very greatful.
My starting weight is ....186 lbs.
I am going to go the web site and check out how long the show runs for and just to get more information. I was going to watch it last night but something else came on the same time that I have been dying to see for months. So... only one show missed. I will be watching the rest though. No doubt about it. I am excited about this. !!! Cant wait for the next weigh in.

{{{Elsie}}} You are too wonderful! Unfortunately I guffawed when I misread your final few words... I read "pond nipples" insatead of "pond ripples"! LOL! Imagine how THAT changed the meaning of the sentence!

Hi, Angel! I think we weigh in on each Tuesday (to correspond with the show).
