How's the exercise coming? This fat girl did 1396 calories, 4 miles, level 6, on my treadmill.

Elsie scared me to death with her 88 day announcement.

          Do I hear an amen?

Cleo, you are an exercising freakazoid! I am jealous. I wanna be addicted to treadmilling and sweating and whatnot! I need me one of them treadmill dohickeys. I think I would use that sucker. Especially after hearing you can burn so many calories in one workout! Holy buck poo!

              Hi Everyone!

Just checking in! I am so excited and encouraged to see everyone's awesome progress! CONGRATS!!!!!!

I have not weighed again yet....actually I am a little afraid to lol...I am getting close to my TOM, so I don't want to chance seeing any gains from water retention because even though I know better, it might bum me out and I am doing really well mentally. I have been walking for one hour every night so far this week. I am still in ketosis....Drinking so much water I feel like I am floating LOL! So I am still on track thank God! I am hoping by next week I will see a little whooshie!

Andrea-- hubby and I did some calculations to see if the treadmill is really right on. The numbers sound incredibly too high. But they're not! Moving a mass my size up an incline of 6 for 4 miles is a lot of work, speaking in terms of physics. Walking on a flat surface for 4 miles, I burn only about half of that 1300! The incline makes every difference, even at a slower pace.

Hey {{{Kat}}}! It is good to see you! I agree. Wait until after TOM. Those temporary water weight gains are just annoying, aren't they! WAY TO GO on the walking and being in ketosis! You are doing awesome!

Gee whiz, fancy! Way to go on your new pound!

Way to go everyone staying strong! I am so thankful to be a part of such a committed group of "losers". You all are a BLESSING!!!! I am not a loser today though. Somehow I have gained 1.5 pounds overnight. I am so upset. I have NOT cheated, I am drinking loads of water and I am exercsing. It is not TOM either. I exercised twice yesterday. I went to a Body Pump class at Golds Gym in the morning and it was an amazing workout. I definitely want to keep going to that. Then last night Dh wanted to go to the gym after work and I went with him and did the treadmill for 40 minutes. Hopefully it is just water weight gain. Don't change my stats yet though. It would send me into "depression".

I am thinking this could be a positive though. With that 1.5 pound gain on the scale today, the cake and ice cream for my birthday at today's staff meeting will not be the least bit tempting.

Stay strong everyone! We can do this!

jsj!!!! You little ray of sunshine!! Glad to see you are back. Of course you were missed. Congrats on the weight lost. You are doing great. Lots of people here use the flax. Be aware that it is calorie dense so limit it. Especially starting out...no more than a T a day. Ground is better than whole. I think I have a post called Flax in the main forum. Drink more water with it because if you do not then the fiber can work against you and actually plug you up. You could also do a search for Flax to read what others are saying about it. Keep posting.

Cleo..you exercising freak! You really put the rest of us to shame! What a great example you set. Keep up the great work!

Sugar...If you aren't ready mentally then stay off of it and check in when you are ready!!

fancy..you are doing great!! Keep it up!

twg...maybe the gain is a blessing...there to give you strength so resist temptation today!! Resist and you will be rewarded!!! Wait and see. I would wish you luck but you don't need it. You are stronger than the voice of cake and ice cream!!!

                      Drink you water today!!!

Don't change twg's totals. It's water weight. Twg, you're saving up for that whooshie! Your body tissues will let go of that water very soon!

                          I like the idea!

                          Yesterday:

Breakfast: 3.5 links of breakfast sausage (DS got to the other 1.5 before I could! LOL)
Lunch: Pastrami, w/ colby jack cheese melted on top! Mmmmm!
Dinner: Half a london broil (shared w/ DH) & 1 cup broccoli w/ cheese melted on top!
Snack: More pastrami w/ cheese and a little dill pickle relish to make it taste more like a sammich.

                          Cal: 1089 carbs: 10 Fat: 75 Burned: 4000 cal

(please note if it looks like I'm not eating enough, I eat until I'm not hungry any more, and if I am I snack. Sugar free gum also helps me curb my snacking A) because since I have something in my mouth its not easy to just absent mindedly put something in my mouth with out thinking it through B) I think I have an oral fixation and have to have something in my mouth at all times to be happy, so up til this point that thing has been food )

Here is my menu from yesterday:

                              Breakfast:
                              8 oz coffee with 1 T of 1/2 and 1/2 and 1 T of carmel davinci syryp
                              2 eggs cooked in Pam
4 slices bacon (sugarless) I have eaten this for breakfast every morning since starting Atkins and have not grown tired of it.

Snack: Flaxmeal muffin from Linda Sue's site with 1/2 pat of butter

Lunch: 3 eggs scrambled with 1/4 cup cheddar and 2 slices of 0 carb ham

Dinner: 1.5 cups of romaine lettuce and spinach mixture with 4 cherry tomates no dressing

My entree was that I made a low carb version of Farmhouse Pie. I made the regular version for my family and made a low carb version for me. It is 10 oz. shredded chicken breast,1 cup broccoli, 6 slices of bacon and 5 oz. shredded swiss cheese layered in a Pam sprayed pie plate and then 4 eggs and 3/4 cup half and half mixture poured over it to make sort of a quiche. Cook at 350 for approx. 40 minutes or until firm. Serves 4. 1/4 of the pie was 376 cal and 4 carbs. I made it up last night for the first time and it was really good.

Totals for the day were: 1182 calories, 81 fat, 17 carbs, 98 protein. My fiber was 5, but I do not ever net my carbs. Ratios were 62/4/33. Exercise was 1 hour Body Pump class at Golds gym and then 40 minutes on the treadmill later in the evening. I was active all day doing errands, laundry, etc.

I like seeing everyone's menu and exercise. I need all the ideas I can get.

                                Hi everyone!

I just had to pop in to tell everyone that I *ran* yesterday. Me, with the terribly bad 50 year old knees at age 26? Me who needs knee surgery? I ran, and it didn't hurt! And still doesn't hurt today! And I wasn't winded!

Me thinks I see Couch to 5k in my future. [I am SO happy about this. I've always wanted to run!]

Now that the gym is open in our building, I've got TheHusband coming with me. He may be skinny, but he is out of shape - at least that's one place I've got him. He said I totally kicked his butt last night at the gym. Haha!

We're going back to the gym tonight. I can't wait.
