    Re: OT:FlyLady Challenge/January

    TADA!!!!

Decluttered medicine cabinet. Tossed though out of date things.
Decluttered storage cupboard. Couldn't part with all the lotions and stuff..but they are organized.
Decluttered under vanity. Again..didn't part with much.
Cleaned off vanity. Even scrubbed the dirt off the soap...LOL!
Cleaned off windowsill. Got rid of the picture frames that I never got around to putting pictures in or hanging. And the yuckies from around the window.
    Scrubed tub and toilet.
Wiped EVERYTHING down. Walls and cupboards in and out included.

DH worked hard today! I am so glad that he is willing to help. We tossed 1 grocery bag full of stuff. Tomorrow he has picked our bedroom to do...so I think I will go and try on some clothes and see what I can part with. Don't want to be changing in front of him and get sidetracked with the kids home...LOL! Must try to part with my comfy pants. They are the same ones I wore 49 pounds ago...darn elastic waists...I will buy those no more!

        Re: OT:FlyLady Challenge/January

I tossed 3...which the kids and I made one day when we went to the beach...took picture frames..put glue all over them put sand over it and then stuck shells to them. The shells were starting to get broken from sitting on the window sill for so long and they didn't have sand all over the frames anyway. I think I will do that again with the kids when we go camping this summer. They are old enough now that they will remember doing it and can do it by themselves which will mean more anyway. At least that is the story I am telling myself...LOL! The other picture frame was a store bought one and that one went into the thrift store box. Along with 2 brushes and 1 comb.

So I came across a box full of empty frames. I should be getting rid of those?

            Re: OT:FlyLady Challenge/January

I would. 2 reasons. First...they are just sitting there instead of up on your wall. And 2...if they were that important then you wouldn't even think of asking...so being as you are not sentimentally attached...get rid of them! Oh..and third..if you do need a frame...they are reasonable priced at Walmart...or I get mine at the dollar store...the ones with no frame...just glass...that way all my pictures...no matter what size they are will match. I like things that match!

At the very least, Wanna...if you just can't toss the box then pick a number and only keep that many. Let me know what you decide.

Well these are picked through frames that didn't make it to the walls so I think I'm just going to get rid of them. Do I throw them out or give them away...to whom? What kind of place would take them?

                Re: OT:FlyLady Challenge/January

Wanna...if you think they are no good then toss them. If they could be of use then I would give them to the local thrift store or Salvation Army store. Or you could freecycle them if you have one of those in your area. That is a yahoo group that you can post good stuff you are willing to part with for free that you may have in your area. Or Flylady suggests that if you have a lot of clutter that the best thing to do in the beginning is chuck it because your health and well being and spirit is more important than recycling something. It will be quicker and easier if you put them out in the trash right now and then they are dealt with. I happen to always have a thrift box on the go so it is just as easy for me to put stuff in there...and it makes it easier for me to part with.

                    TADO
We changed to the Living Room instead of our bedroom as our neighbor is giving us her TV stand so we need to move it in tomorrow.

                    Clear off old TV stand.
Clean out and wash Amazon cage
Wipe down fish tank and shelves
Clean out and wash Rat cage
Clean out and wash Hedgehog cage
Clean out and wash Degu cage
Clean out and wash Quaker cage
                    Organize under Degu cage
Vacuum under couch and chairs and under cushions.
                    Declutter end table drawers
                    Vacuum rug
                    Wash sliding glass doors

That seems like a lot. And is the biggest room to do so far. So we will see how much we get done.

                      TADA for yesterday
Went through a lot of junk boxes in the basement and hot rid of a lot of stuff. I also organized a lot of my daughter's baby toys to give away.

Woo hoo! It feels good to get rid of stuff...why is that?

                      TADO for today
Continue with the boxes in the basement.

I shine my kitchen sinks every night. I love seeing them shine in the morning. I only do 2 of the 3 sinks. The third one is in the island and I've told my husband that it's not to be used (so I don't have to shine it every night). It's kinda useless anyway when the regular sinks are right across from it.

                          Organized under Degu cage
Vacuumed under couch and chairs and under cushions.
                          Decluttered end table drawers
                          Vacuumed rug
                          Washed sliding glass doors
Cleaned out china cabinet and put into boxes
Cleaned off TV stand in craft room.

We went with the living room instead of the bedroom since we are getting the neighbor's TV stand. So we were in the midst of taking our old one apart when I said to DH that maybe he should go over and measure just to be sure (I had said it would fit because we have the same TV) and he did and it wouldn't fit..our TV (we won it) is bigger. Now we had to put the old stand back together and what the heck were we going to do with the one from the neighbor. I finally figured out that we could use it as a china cabinet it will be good as it is a solid straight unit with doors and the one we have is a smaller part sitting on top of a larger part which leaves a ledge large enough for me to pile lots of stuff on it. So now there will be no ledge to pile stuff on! So I had to clean out the top of the one we have and that meant I had to figure out where that was going which meant that I had to clean off the top of the small TV stand we have in my craft room so it could go on there. So I did. It is there now. I put the original stuff in it in 3 big boxes in my kitchen..because it will bug me and I will go through it if it is sitting there.

The bottom part...which is a really nice big 7 drawer dresser we flipped around to the other side just behind the living room chairs. It will stay there for now and I can use it to put the brooder for the baby African Greys on it and then when DH is finished remodeling DS's room it can go in there. I haven't cleaned those drawers out yet. Though DH informed me that if we do the dining room tomorrow that will be my job. YUCK!

I am really encouraged by how much has gotten done so far. I am getting tired of doing it but DH is still raring to go so I will take the help while he is offering it. He has so much other stuff to do so I appreciate it. He had originally told me he would give me a week. Which...if we stick to it will get my whole upstairs done except my craft room...which is the WORST one upstairs...but there is no way he can help me with that.

Okay...gotta go and tidy up the kitchen...it is messy because we were so busy with everything else today.

Wanna...did you get your boxes done?

Today I want you to look in your inbox for an email from me. It can be a
Morning Musing, a testimonial or an essay. Just take a few minutes and
read over it. You never know what I am going to discuss.

                                Mission Zone

                                Dear Friends:

This is one of my favorite missions! This is what I will be doing
                                tomorrow morning!

Spend 15 minutes decluttering health and beauty aids! This means
toss the old medicines, hair sprays, gels, shampoos, conditioners,
old razors, old dried up nail polish, old cosmetics and anything else
that is hanging around in your bathroom that you have not used in the
                                past year!

Grab a trash bag and start tossing. Don't hold onto something
because you "might" use it, or because you might need it, this is how
clutter breeds! Be brutal and toss, toss, toss.

Please, Please, Please do not email me suggestions for the proper way
to dispose of things, I trust you all to make good decisions in
                                disposing of these items.

When you complete this mission you will love how your bathroom feels,
