Sniff...Sniff...it's okay...it was a bit lonely and scary but I am okay.

The place is looking better around here too. Still not close to 100% but sooooo much better than before. The kitchen is getting a bit out of hand again though. But I could power clean the upstairs (minus my craft/puter/kids video room) in under an hour to get it presentable...if I had the motivation...LOL! And of course if no one goes downstairs....

Wouldn't it be nice to have a little rumba vaccuum type thing in a taller robot that follows the family around and picks things up/puts them away??? Oh, but of course, that's what WE'RE for .

LOL!! I would order one of those...oh..who am I kidding..I would need 2 or 3 at least!! That is my (and family) major problem...not picking up after ourselves right away. I am working on that. It does make a difference. I once read an email from Flylady that said something about making one's selve a sandwich did not consist merely of making a sandwich and eating it but making a sandwich...putting the stuff away right away and then eating it...she worded it much better but just trying to do that does make a visual difference. I catch myself more and more listening to the little voice that says that should be put away right now...I usually do..most often with a loud sigh...LOL!

I do that with items in the kitchen but not usually anywhere else. If the kitchen is a mess - I'm a mess. I can't eat, cook or anything and I HATE dishes so I get REALLY depressed quickly. Which, makes me go OUT to eat, which costs as much as my grocery bill in just one week which depresses me more, then I'm too depressed to CLEAN the kitchen. I've learned to keep my dishes done so I don't get like that - I can live with chaos everywhere else BUT there. Sticking with flylady routines help to combat everything once a week which makes it more enjoyable.

Slim...isn't it funny how we have our little spots. Mine is my soup cupboard. They are all lined up in rows all and each soup and vegie has it's own row. But the rest of the house is (though not as much) a disaster.

              Dear Friends,

Back to the Living Room we go! One of my all time favorite missions for the living room is to go sofa and chair diving! This is where we start digging through the furniture and pluck out the Cheerios and old socks! I am always amazed at how much stuff I can pull out of the couch in just one short month! I think the couch is kind of like the clothes dryer, it seems to keep things! LOL!

Have fun, this should not take longer than 5 minutes! Don't obsess! Love,

Too funny! I can't have that kind of organization over my soup cupboard as my 2 year old is obsessed with it herself. She's going to be SO OCD. She already arranges them by size or stacks big cans on top of tuna cans - but all uniform. I tell her to get out of my cupboard and she can't until it is all neat! So cute!!!!

LOL! You are lucky. Keep her at it. Show her how to put away her clothes properly...match socks...fold laundry...work with it and it will be so much easier later on she will think helping out and putting stuff away is just natural.

I am. She already folds my kitchen washcloths in half for me - towels too. Not EXACTLY how I fold them, but they are very neat and orderly - all folded and layered the same way, then she puts them in the drawer by herself. Putting them in the drawer kind of messes them up a bit but I just leave them that way so I can smile every time I need a towel or dish cloth. Additionally, she is already a big help with dishes and self clean up. Just because she watches me, she has learned to take her dish and dump the leftovers in the garbage and put her dish in the sink or counter. She also gets herself a napkin to wipe her hands, face and table with. She just amazes me! I think my biggest job is to teach her not to be TOO obsessive and that stuff happens.

LOL! You can counter balance that by letting her get dirty...we keep our flour in a big bucket...well, one day we left the lid off and put DD on the floor and put her hands in it to feel it and then we put DS in it..she must have been 1..he would have been 2 1/2 (18 months apart) and we ended up with the cutest pictures of them by the time they were done. DS doesn't like to get dirty...at Halloween, when carving pumpkins I have to scoop the insides out...and he is turning 10 this year. He has a serious texture problem...LOL! DD wakes up with a dirty face...total opposites.

Anyway..sorry to digress there....if you make a point of showing her it is okay to get messy sometimes she will be okay...go jump in the mud puddles...it is fun even when we are older.....LOL! But do it now...time passes so fast when they are little and our teaching chances too.

My DS(9)...not so helpful..probably due to the fact that he was a fertility drug baby and also couldn't hear until he was 2 1/2 and didn't start speaking until then and so I did a lot of stuff for him. DD(just turned 8 this month) is sooo helpful and kind she scares me....will make my bed to surprise me or clean up the kitchen...
