      Bjs - If you have a Target nearby, mine had them very reasonably priced. I got mine off Ebay but still....

      Tonya - Fried steak sounds soo good! How great is it that you can eat that and still shrink enough to get into those capris!?!

      Noorian - I have the tummy thing too. Well, two ten pound babies didn't exactly help me flatten out my waistline The Slim in 6 is a real good program if you can commit to the routine for 6 weeks. I love it but have a bit of trouble getting it in enough times each week with work and the boys. I am convinced that it does work though!

      Silly - We are on a day after the rain here too. I am out in the country a bit here and the smell in the air is so light and fresh! Wonderful!

      Cher - How's the book? I seem to recall a bit of it but I won't leak any spoilers!

        Hey Cypress! So, how's things for you today? Drinking your water? I envy you living in the "country". Let's not talk about tummies anymore, until we're closer to goals. I'm hoping mine will really go away then!

          I'll tell you when my tummy is going away - when the plastic surgeon snips it off! Haha! My first baby was 9 pounds and 15 ounces, 23 1/2 inches long. My second son was 2 weeks early and 10 pounds 10 ounces, 21 1/2 inches long. I gained 50 pounds with each preg and I have the stretch marks of love to remind me of it all! But they are so wonderful and dh has no problem with a tummy tuck. I have said that after I have maintained goal for 12 months with a solid exercise routine in place, I am going to do it!

          Yes, living in the country is wonderful and I have been lucky enough to be here nearly all my life. My house sits midway between my grandma and my parents with my brother, cousin, aunt& uncle all within a half a mile of me - nobody else lives near us since we own the property (an old dairy farm from a few generations ago). I have a beautiful pond just 60 feet or so off my back doorstep and dh and I built the boys a great playground with slides and bridges...the whole 9 yards. The driveway is paved between all of our houses so the boys play outside all evening while we walk and visit. We have horses, pigeons, chickens, rabbits, you name it. I feel so blessed that the boys can grow up like I did! Here's a side pic of my house:



          It saves a ton of $$ being able to stay at home and still have a good time!!

            Really Cypress? Now I'm really jealous. I keep begging for a chicken but DH won't let me! I want a Silky, do you know what those are? They look like Phyllis Diller....or are you too young to know who she is LOL!!!!! Anyway, I get a catalog from Murray McMurray Hatchery because I love to look at the pictures!Your house is so cute, looks so comforting!

              Aaahhhh! Country girls! No wonder I felt right at home here with you guys!! Even you silly, living in the city, but a country girl at heart! LOL

              Okay...lunch today was turkey, broccoli, a slice of green leaf lettuce with mayo and tomato and turkey rolled up like a salad. And another one made with tuna instead of turkey. It was a real hodge podge lunch, but oh so good.

              Dinner was pork loin and the rest of the squash from last night. Bless the hubby, he cooked again while I exercised on the elliptical.

              Last night I did my weights....did I tell you guys I got a new weight set?? Its the bowflex selectech weights....man are they nice. So, I did a lower body workout that was killer and my legs are so sore!

              I took a peek on the scales this morning to see how much damage TOM did to me...and just about peed myself when it said 212.3!!! That's another 1.3 lbs! Holy smokes batman!!

              I don't know what I'm doing that's different, but it's obviously something!!!!

                    Valid, you've found your 'zone', that's for sure. Your meals sound really good.
                    I really need to venture out. I am so stuck at induction again. With less than 10 pounds to lose I really need to be at premaintenance. What's your guy's intake, on average, of carbs per day and remain losing?

                    I got the recipe for Mock Danish from Barb today. Is that what you eat Cher? Do you make it each time you're going to eat it, or will it keep for a day or two (uh-huh, sure )? I will make it in the morning.

                    I also bought some Food for Life Savory Herb lo carb bread and it has 4 carbs per slice (I'm not a believer in deducting the fiber part, or it would be 3 net). Tomorrow I'll have that with my turkey instead of just rolling up the turkey w/ mayo!!!!!

                      You guys are killing me with the chicken talk! We recently watched a program on Chicken Shows, you know, like Wesminster Kennel Club Dog Show type of shows. It was amazing. Thanks for the cute pic Valid...I'm keeping it on my desktop!

                        Silly, On a regular basis, I don't count every carb I eat. I kinda know the foods I can eat. When I'm adding a new food in, I'll count. I always look at the carb count though...if it's below 5 I don't really pay attention to it. If I get to a point I'm not losing as much, I'll enter everything into Fitday just to be sure I'm still on track.

                        I guess I do what some people call "Modified OWL" meaning that I eat something from one of the rungs I'm on or have already gone through...like yesterday I had berries and yogurt with berries. Today I haven't had anything, but I'm hoping that I have some yogurt left in the fridge. Sometimes I'll have a low carb tortilla to make a sandwich, or chimichanga or enchiladas. Some days I have cottage cheese in an italian style dish...or if I make a ricotta cheesecake. Beans in my salad...etc.

                        I doubt very seriously that my net carbs have gotten over 30. I do eat a salad most every day...today I didn't though. I had 3 spears of broccoli at lunch, 2 lettuce leaves a slice of tomato, and had about 2 cups of squash tonight. That would be at least 6 servings of vegetable according to USDA or Atkins serving sizes.

                        I drank a liter of water today at work....and I've had two 20 oz bottles of water since I've been home already. Oh, and I had some iced tea at lunch with one packet of splenda.

                        I guess one of the things I've not been doing as much of in the last few weeks is only 1 glass of tea maybe 3 times a week instead of every day. I've also un-intentionally cut back on the cheese since I got back from chicago now that I think about it...got sick of it up there.

                        For me, I watch the carbs, but I don't obsess over them until I see there is a problem.

                          Well, I gotta start eating like a normal person! I'm so neurotic. The reality is, it's about the CHOICES you make when eating. So I need to start making wise/healthy choices!

                            well hello all,

                            Wow been a busy day for the thread. I went out this am, and had PT, worked oout in the gym for 30 min with PT. Went to Target Best Buy and Wal Mart looking for Slim in 6. I could not find it. So I got some 5 and 10 # weights to do a video I got. It is Fit and Firm, 30 minute video. So, we will see how this works out.

                            I came home cooked dinner for my mom and dad who were going ot watch my son while I saw clients this evening. I made them pork chops and scalloped potatoes( my favorite ). And left he house, to see clients.

                            So.... I will do 100 crunches tonight on my ab lounge. I had 72 oz of water today. NOt as much as I would like, but enough. I had an egg Mcmuffin with no muffin for B fast, cheese and broccoli for lunch and a sub way chicken spinach salad for lunch.. can you tell I was on the road all day..

                            so, I might order the slim in 6 now that I ahve one to do in the mean time. We will see how this goes.

                              Hello everyone, glad to hear you're all doing so well!

                              It's day 2 for me. Had a piece of sugarless gum in the morning, a couple celery sticks with dill dip. For lunch I went to this new restaurant called Jake's... sort of like a grill type place, and had some chicken wings. I also ordered this burger but only took a couple bites of it, I didn't like it much. The worst part for me was that it was served with fries... I had to try -so hard- to not eat any of them. In the end I just ended up throwing my napkin over them so I wouldn't have to look at them! Also, earlier in class, this kid was handing out Starburst candies. I almost ate one but then came to my senses. So today's been sort of tempting, but I'm still winning over temptation!

                              Got home, took a nap, then had about 1 0z of goat cheese. I feel kind of tired and bleh today, but I need to get my exercise in for the day. So I'm going to get off my butt and, well, move it. Haha. Also need to work on water intake... I've always been insistent on ordering Diet sodas with every meal... it's hard to break that habit. I've had about 8 oz. of water as of this post... yikes.

                                Yikes Kitti-- increase the water for sure, it is a challenge we all are trying ot do better with..

                                After tomorrow you should be feeling better, I did after the 3rd day...And even more so, the more water I drink adn more excersise I get. I napped alot the 1st week tho-- Just tired and dizzy..

                                You can do it. Good job beating the temptations you did. They will always be there, so it is jsut preparing you for the rest of your life by passing them by now..

                                Let us know how ou feel tomorrow, and drink some more water....
