    I totally forgot about it, but yesterday marks 1 month back on Atkins, yaaay! Even though I can't weigh again I think the 10 pounds I know I lost in a month is great, that's even what the book said was the most you should go for isn't it? Lets all keep going strong and see how surprised we can be on the 1st =).

      Here is your SCALE SCOFF for the day, 1/11/07:

      A husband stepped on one of those penny scales that tell you your fortune and weight and dropped in a coin.

      "Listen to this," he said to his wife, showing her a small, white card. "It says I'm energetic, bright, resourceful and a great lover."

      "Yeah," his wife nodded, "and it has your weight wrong, too."


      We are 1/3 of the way through the challenge! Keep up the great work and stay away from that SCALE!!!

        Last night my youngest didn't sleep good. I woke up late and was tired. Just washed my face, brushed teeth but didn't shower or shave my legs like normal. Biked the children to school. I came home and ate breakfast, had a ton of water. Went to get my shower and I almost got on the scale. i was like a robot BEOFRE SHOWER MUST GET ON SCALE. I didn't get on it though.

        I think I better put it(scale) in the bedroom or in the extra bedroom/office.

          Yes, Maggie -- move that thing out of sleepy-auto-pilot range. Fair warning, even a scale "accident" will earn you wet noodle lashings.

              Weekly inches check-in

              Knowing time will be tight tomorrow morning, I went ahead and did my measurements tonight... down 2.5 inches this week. I lost one each in my ribs and bust, and a 1/2 inch in my hips. You know, come to think of it, I could actually feel it in my ribs and bust area this week. I bought a running bra from Target that was a size XL. I really do need an XXL, but they didn't have any. When I first wore it a week or so ago, it was REALLY snug -- like can barely breathe snug. When I wore it today, it was still snug, but not so uncomfortably so.

                TGIF! Usually today is a weigh in day, but I measured instead. I was a bit apprehensive, as it's TOM, but I went for the gusto and did it anyway. I'm down 2.5 inches (or is it 3.25 because I have TWO thighs and TWO biceps?) for the week! I am feeling good.

                Congrats Adena on the inches loss! And keep up the NO-WEIGH attitude, guys!

                  Julie, you keep trying to dismiss one of your arms and legs. I think you should count both. So, yes, it's 3.5!

                  Ya know, I haven't lost even a half inch in my arms since I started Atkins. But, that just doesn't seem possible... I'm wondering if I measured wrong in the beginning?

                  This morning at the gym, I was tempted to weigh, but didn't. I felt like I was down last week. I don't feel that way this week... Hmmm, and I haven't been Fitday-ing this week. Coincidence? I doubt it.

                      Sure, Lady Hawke... feel free to join. You don't even have to commit to going through mid-Feb. Just stick with us through the end of January! As we see it, this is simply about trusting this plan and our bodies, and not obessing over the scale. So, by joining now, you'll still get close to 3 weeks of that brainwashing... I mean, mind set!

                        Waaaah! I suddenly feel very whiney and needy for the scale. Good thing I'm at work and there isn't one.... oh wait. THERE IS in the cafeteria, right next to the vending machine, actually! (sigh) That's okay -- I won't do it. But, I want to.
