Yes, that's what she meant. unless you only have 1 arm and 1 leg... but they look pretty realistic in the pic...

I do the same thing constantly.. and then I realize, I have 2 wrists, forearms, biceps, thighs, calves and ankles... it seriously annoys me for inches lost.

LOL. I think it would be easier to just be half a girl at times, no? At least for measurements sake!

yeah... but only for measurements. Oh, and if we could remove them before getting on the scale, that'd be cool too. It'd be really rough to do push-ups and planks though...

hahahahahahaha! i have enough trouble doing pushups (the plank is getting easier)! But I think it would deffinately be a plus to take em off for weighins.
And for those times in the night that your arm goes numb and you wish you could just put it on the night stand until morning...... then it would be cool too.

Hey, I still have problems with my knees doing the plank. They feel like they are going to pop. I have been trying to do them girlie style, and having my knees on the florr when i am in the plank position, and it seems to be helping, but do you know of any exercises that can increase knee strength? I dislocated my knee back in HS when I was playing basket ball and it hasn't been the same since. For running and plank and just life in general, i need to increase that strength. I can't afford a gym membership, so home stuff will have to do.... any ideas?

lunges. it's the muscles around your knee that need to strengthen. I had that issue. I couldn't do lunges to start with, so I did the leg press, but I think that even if you do small lunges it helps. Mine was from falling off a balcony a few years ago and never bothering to get the MRI done on it though... but I think it's like the same kind of damage... mine still either locks or pops at times...

For planks there shouldn't be any pressure on knees, you're doing them on an exercise mat, yes? Make sure your body's flat... Oh, and I'd buy knee brace before running, especially if you're going to be running outside on pavement or even asphalt.

I have a stott pilates mat for my floor exercises. Really nice and cushiony, even though my tail bone doesn't think so. The plank is getting easier for sure, but I am nervous that I will pop my knee. I know you shouldn't feel it in your knees, but I do. Even when my dh watches me to critique my form, it hurts, and not a good hurt...yah know? I have had all kinds of tests done, and there isn't really anything to be done beyond what has already been done. And I don't want to go back on steroid injections for it.... (ughhhhh). Lunges are good tho', I can't go tooo deep on them, but I do about 100 unges in the DVD I do about 3 times a week. I have been slipping a little this past week on the dvd. Gotta kick my butt back on the dvd bandwagon. Still exercising, but I like the dvd and what it targets.

Hrmmmm, I think I may still have my knee brace from HS around here somewhere...... or it may be at my MIL's. I will have to run outside. No tracks around here, and the only tread mills are at the local gym (yes, only one gym) and I can't afford a membership right now. Single income three kids and buying a new house soon. TMI? Oh well.

You have good shoes for running, yes? You could do weighted lunges if the other ones are easier. For the planks, I was trying to figure out how you make your knees hurt with the girly ones and I can't do it... well, I mean, mine *hurt* but it's because I have hardwood floors and no mat... hrm.

Checking in at 10PM… I’m sure everyone’s asleep now. I had a really good food day. Day 3 of bootcamp went well (yay).

                      Lyssie… Are you feeling better?

                      Heather… 14 Pounds and 4.25 inches… that’s incredible. Way to go!

Kntrylaady – Welcome to the challenge. It’s nice to have you with us. Those sneaky tape measures run away all the time. I always have to try and find mine.

Hubby’s girl – I lose inches very slowly… I’m impressed with the 1.25 or 1.75 inches. Congratulations. Wad that in 1 week? If so…that was really, really good!

Yup Cher. one week. I lost over 25 inches in March when I did a personal challenge, so 1.75 is a bit low for me, but hey, I'll take it!

Lyssie, I dunno. Maybe my knees are just sensitive. i do have some good running shoes. They *may* need an upgrade, but the ones I have will work for now.
