  • Re: New YOU in the New Year's Challenge

    Hi All,

Just wanted to let you know that I'm still here and still doing the Challenge. I moved into a new apartment which is lovely and am heading back to Canada and the States for the holidays (hopefully will be able to stay on program). On my new scale it says my weight is 171.6 lbs which is down (at last!) however since it wasn't the scale that I took my original weight on I don't know if it is just the scale (oh well, I'll take it ). This puts me only .6 lbs above my first mini goal and 2.6 lbs above my New Year's goal.

As I head home for the holidays my goal is only going to be to stay on program and maintain my current weight loss.

How are you all planning to stick to your programs during the Xmas holidays? Anyone else travelling?

    Happy Holidays,

    Rae

        I'm here, Liss!

Yeah, it has been pretty quiet here lately. Well, December and the holidays and all... kind of understandable.

I'm working my way up the rungs and incorporating more carbs every week, but keeping an eye on things to make sure the weight keeps coming off, even if it's at a snail's pace ... would rather take my time and keep it off by making permanent changes I can live with. A "diet" connotes a quick fix, not a lifelong commitment.

Hi, Rae ... great that you like your new apartment. No, I won't be travelling anywhere this Christmas. The spousal unit and I stay home and keep it really simple. No muss, no fuss, no stress.

Liss, I still can't get over 3.6" of snow in Vegas! That's just wild !

Well I've been MIA for the past few days. I have family in town, and have been spending as much time as I could with them.

So I've been on Atkins for just over 3 months, and I've lost a total of 52 pounds! I've nearly lost 1/3 of my weight! I know that my weight is going to come off alot slower because I've only been eating one meal a day for a few weeks...but I've stuck to eating what I could.

I hope everyone is well. My family and I are escaping Vegas for the next 5 days to go spend time with my husbands family in southern California....

I'll check in when I'm home. Hugs and loves for ya'll =)

                        Way to go, Diva!

Hi, Liss! We kept Christmas quiet and simple, just me and the spousal unit. A nice chicken dinner, some Christmas music, no gifts ... I mean really simple. Naturally, with kids it would be a different ballgame altogether !

Yep, about to wrap this Challenge up, eh? 2008 went by so quickly ... the older you get, the faster they go, that's a fact !

So, a big ol' (((GROUP HUG))) and a wish for a great 2009 for all of my friends and fellow Atkineers!

I'm just getting started so this is a great challenge! My goal is to loose 80 pounds and I'd like to accomplish that by the end of 2009. That is just over 1-1/2 pounds a week....reasonable I think!!

Hello everyone, hope you survived the holidays. I didn't make my goal but I still feel pretty good about my progress so far. Considering that I have had not one moment to myself for several weeks now and can't expect any until next week, I've managed to stay on track with the exception of getting my exercise. But starting next week, I'm starting my walks again ( I really miss them and resent the intrusion of others' needs into my schedule) and hopefully that will kick in some more weight loss. I don't expect to see much change in the scale since my weight loss has been slow, so I guess I will be finishing 11 pounds shy of my mark ( and 8 1/2" smaller ) but perhaps I'll look for a new challenge to sign up for and just keep working toward that goal til I get it. All I can say is I'm not giving up and I'll be buying a new wardrobe this summer in a much smaller size. If I have to, I'm going to annoy a lot of people because I'm not going to let anyone interfere with my exercise schedule again. It really made me angry at myself how I allowed others to stress me out and how it's always my needs that get tossed to the back burner. Not happening again! So, I'm going to start looking for the next challenge and I hope to see y'all there! Right now...I think I'm going to take a walk and let everybody wonder where I am ...heh.

I'm sorry things have not been up to par with you Sookie. Don't be too discouraged though, it happens to the best of us. I hope your walk went well =)

So though it isn't new years, but it is the 30th....do we weigh in today? Tomorrow??? The first????

If it's today then I'm weighing in at 271.6 pounds =)
