  • Keeping our Cool: December Diet Challenge

    Start date: December 1st- End date December 31st.
    Cut off join date by December 6th



    I know it is a life style but lets face it December may be the hardest month for this lifestyle
    I mean... my favourite holiday treat is made with half a bucket of corn syrup
    So this is the challenge for all of us to stay sane and huddle together.

    Challenge rules:
    Set personal goals for December
    Report at least twice a week



    Personal Goal areas (Pick your own - add some, It is up to you. These are suggestions

    Weight: Set a realistic weight goal for yourself to achieve my the end of the month. I will try to maintain
    Inches: Maybe you could lose one or two?
    Diet: Set some reasonable goals - I will not eat these things. I will focus on these goals
    Water: Stay hydrated. Daily goals?
    Supplements: I will be focusing on vitamin D. What about you
    Exercise: Be reasonable - count those shopping and cleaning
    Motivation: Perhaps writing down a few motivating cards to look at when things get tough. Like: I will not endulge (event? Occation) because I want to still fit my size ? dress.
    Planning: treasonous traps to be avoided in December. Parties, get together, baking. Every week we need to plan and figure out what we will do to stay focused
    taking care of me: Yes this is the month of giving but we need to take care of ourselves too. How will you treat yourself this month


    Your reward

    Plan it out- If you can keep your December goal you will treat yourself to (new pants?, a new book, a date with your bf? - make it worth looking forward to)


    Let's start by joining and gradually work out our strategy for December as we get warmed up.

    Push-ups: 450/800
    Abs: 850/1900
    Squats: 650/1200
    Lunges: 500/1000
    Strength: 490/1200
    Running: 50/100 km

      Count me in Liv -- I need extra help this month....December (and Christmas) is going to be a little harder than Thanksgiving was because of the candy treat (even though I'm diabetic treats are still hard to keep away from!!).

      Ok - editing my post to add what my challenges are going to be:

      1. Get into the 170's this month!
      2. 2 mile minimum on the treadmill each time I get on.
      3. Add an exercise video back into my routine this month.
      4. Spend some "alone" time each week.

        Goals: Staying on plan (no cheating), exercise minimum 4x/week.
        Hopes: Gonna get to Onederland this month

            Hi Liv, I want in, but I need to think about what to do. Still involved with being with Mom and all that stuff. Just started reading posts again tonight, and I want to see this one pop up to remind me tomorrow.

              I am in for this, It will be easier to post all in one forum then all the others. December is always a busy busy month for me. Anyway here are my goals:

              Weight: Get into the 140's finally! (I will take 149 by January 1st )
              Diet: Stay focused and avoid pitfalls.
              Water: 64oz Daily.
              Supplements: Get enough fiber, 25-30g a day.
              Exercise: 20 min of Elliptical Trainer 3x a week, 100 REAL Puch-ups by January 1st.
              Planning: Plan big events (Christmas Day/New Years) before hand to avoid going hungry/slipping. (This is actually almost done)
              Taking care of me: Get aleast 8 hours of sleep a night and spending some "quality time" with my boyfriend.

              Your reward
              A hair cut at a salon by my birthday in January. (I'm thinking a Asymmetrical Bob)

                  I'm in too, Liv! What a great idea. It's just what I need.

                  My goals:

                  To lose the extra 6 pounds I've gained lately.
                  To exercise at least 5 days a week.
                  To start exercising to my favorite video again.
                  To drink more water and less tea.
                  To take my vitamins regularly and
                  To deal better with my stress.

                    Count me in!!!! I need some motivation and anything with the words "challenge" and "rewards" is good for me! Starting induction phase, would like to lose up to 12-14lbs... I am diabetic so definitely will not be eating any pie this season, I can have my carb intake in other ways... I want to try and power walk in the afternoons, and currently have started taking a multi vitamin pack. WISH ME LUCK!!!!! *Dolce*

                        Weight: My Goal is to loose the weight I've gained from my New Med (Neurontin for Lupus ) in November, while suriving
                        all the Xmax Holiday Goodies in the process !!!

                        Diet: My Goal is to "Stick Strickly" to my Daily WOE Plan on Fitday.com !!!

                        Water: My Goal is to drink 100oz per day !!!

                          My goal for this month is 125 lbs
                          I will not eat sugar free candy
                          take supplements regularly
                          DRINK WATER!!!
                          Exercise at least 5 times a week from the 3 days i already do

                              What a great thread... count me in.

                              Weight: Reach 245 by December 31st.
                              Diet: More veggies.
                              Water: 84 oz
                              Supplements: take daily, add flax seed & fish oil.
                              Exercise: 30 to 45 minutes of exercise 4 to 5 times a week.(Wii/Stationary bike/walking)
                              Planning: Be prepared for outings that may occur, Christmas lunches at work especially!
                              Reward: Mani/Pedi
