  • Re: Keeping our Cool: December Diet Challenge

    On target today!!

    supplements: check
    water: check
food: saving some veggies for later to take an antibiotic (so my stomach won't get upset)

I'm going to get in bed early tonight and reading a couple chapters from the book again. That's the nice thing I'm going to do for myself tonight.

Sounds like everyone is doing well. Congrats on the Vegas trip Goomama!! And Loving...good for you getting on the bike instead of in the fridge!! That's great.

    Have a great week!!

The votes are in for our Christmas lunch at work: they are bringing in Chinese food. I opted out. (no big deal).

I do have a potluck at my old office on Friday. Am still planning on bringing egg salad in pepper boats, celery with savory cream cheese and pepperoni.

Found out that Mom is making roast on Christmas eve. I am bringing 2 vegetable dishes. Definitely Liv's Cauliflower Potatoes and prob Linda's Italian Zucchini Casserole.

Christmas day I am bringing salad. I think I have to bring a legal desert too, or I'll never hear the end of it from my mother-in-law.

Didn't exercise yesterday...not sure what my problem is some days... I dusted off the treadmill (which I haven't used in ?months? ?years?) on Sunday. I used it again today. Some days the thought of getting on the bike is just *ugh*. I usually walk the dogs for exercise those days, but it is -31C (-24F) with the windchill today (has been like this for 9 days!) so no walking outdoors. Don't want to do DVDs either...my attitude stinks Maybe I'll be happier when that wii gets opened xmas morning. Variety definitely seems to help keep me motivated to exercise.

Diet is on plan. Weigh-in is tomorrow...we'll see how I make out given the overeating that went on on the week-end...

Just very tired. Can't really focus. Got less than 2 hours of sleep last night and that does a number on me. Still did fine with my eating and drinking water. Amazingly, didn't go overboard with the coffee either. And once again...shoveling was my exercise.

        Sweet dreams to all...Jane

Hey everyone.... I'm staying right on track and keeping my goals. The only thing I'm having any problems with is moving up to OWL 2. Every time I add 5 carbs I get cravings !! So I'll start deducting 5 before adding 5 dairy and see if that makes a difference.

Daily Goal: NO Cheating !! Take Vitamins and Calcium/Magnesium every single day
Weight: NO gain this month. (but of course I'd love to loose)
Diet: Need to start moving through my rungs, at least OWL 3 by the end of the month
Water: in Challenge for 100oz daily
Exercise: Minimum every other day.... ~Complete ABS, Squats, Push-up, and Stability Ball challenges... ~ Use Cross Country Skier (nordic track) at least 3x's weekly...
Planning: Bringing an ice chest with me for snacks, even if going down the road (just in case)
Taking care of me: Not allow others to guilt me into a schedule... in spite of the holidays. Get at least 7 1/2 hours of sleep nightly.
Reward: No idea what to choose here...

I think the scale has driven me crazy - I obsess about it a lot

We are half way everyone. I think we are doing well. Of course the hardest part may be ahead of us
I have another party to go to this weekend. I love FREE food but I will be good and eat in advance and just pick a few legal items to enjoy. It warmed up here and that is great. Yesterday my car battery died. Well minus that much sure can be deadly

I am doing well with my goals. I must weigh myself this weekend to check that my weight is still in line. I worry about the weight going up this month. It is just so darn easy to overeat.

                  December 16th:
Weight: I will weigh tomorrow, felt a little bloated today. It is close to TOM so I might skip the weighin all together.
Diet: I had popcorn today for the first time. I air popped it then added butter and salt. I might be a little bloated because of the salt tomorrow. I ran out of butter so I had to use my brothers margarine mixed with oil to cook up the steaks for dinner.
Water: I've been drinking all day but I don't know how much I have actually got. Probably close to goal.
Supplements: I made some more flax bread today. I let it cook a little longer then normal so it has a crunch. I had 2 servings today. I also had mash (cauliflower, broccoli, and carrots) and greenbeans with dinner so I am sure I have enough fiber.
Exercise: I was planning to get the trainer out but I got side tracked today when Max (the family friend I mentioned earlier) came over because he had no where else to go and it was cold outside. I live in a small apartment so I have to workout in the livingroom but with others there it becomes to packed (no way to move around). I did run around the apartment chasing my cats and then did some house work.
Planning: I need to do some major cleaning before Christmas since it will be at my place.
Taking care of me: I have been sleeping pretty good, long. But I tend to sleep during the day and stay up all night. I have tried waking up and staying up earlier but within a few days I am back to it. I have no problem waking up though, but if there is no reason to I just don't. Boyfriend starts his vacation tomorrow. Yay.
Other: It finally snowed! It is supposed to snow all day tomorrow. It is so pretty.

Many weigh ins tomorrow. It will be exciting - I guess the scale is the ultimate judge on how we are doing and measuring too of course.

My weigh in is on Sunday but I feel good about where I am. Of course today I had an outside run (YES) and a yoga class and both just make me feel like a million bucks - no matter what the scale says.

Ohbehave - you really got snow. Wow. Nice

I am good with my vits, water and veggies. Yes there are a few too many snacks here and there. I am still working on those.

I am doing pretty well... I had to take a couple days off from the elliptical after returning from Vegas, but I did an hour today.

Taking all my vitamins, but I did cut back on the ginseng because I have been feeling very dry (it is very yang and can be drying).

All the food has been on track for this week -- I was up to 167 the day I came back, but was down to 163 today. That was some major water weight! Sheez!

I have been doing very good with the water the past couple of days.

I am taking it easy during the day, as I felt like I was coming down with something yesterday. I went out shopping with a friend the night before last.

I have been busy too. But doing ok.
Trying to wait until this weekend to weigh in.
Eating has been on track. Water has been fine. Vitamins are fine. Exercise is ok...its there but could be better.
Coffee...not too bad. It has been soooo cold (below 0) and I love coffee when it is cold. I am fine with decaf. It is the cream and splenda I worry about. So, I am trying hard to be careful with that.
I don't know that I have had "me time" lately. Too much stress (not just holiday related). I do have some new music on my Mp3 player. hmmm..my mp3 player is now actually full.

Mission..congrats on your anniversary! That is wonderful and very impressive.

                                hugs to all! Jane
