        Welcome back Kntrylady.
Carbs do give munchies. That is one of the trouble with them. If I up my carbs, even if it is innocent items, I eat more. It is a balance act.

Yeas SunnysDad - I hear you on the temptation thing. The only thing that works for me is to counter it with something legal. This year is it is mascarpone (which I adore) and egg nog.

Barrnone. You are still there. That is in the end the only thing that counts. This is not about being perfect.

        My update-
We are celebrating Christmas today. Two days before the rest of the world but my husband works the next few days and we wanted to have a real cozy christmas day together. So today it is. Will have turkey, and gravy (wiith guar gum) and cauliflower mash, rutabaga mash, yam, brussel sprouts and low carb cranberry sauce. It will be lovely. We are also opening our presents. So I am ready. Of course I only got ready at the very end of yesterday
We will have another celebration when the extended family gets here on the 27th so that will be fun too (I am hoping for a pork roast on that day)
So likely no exercise today. I am also taking my daughter to see a musical this afternoon while my DH watch the turkey so it is a busy day. Looking forward to it.

I am holding up fine. I think I may make it. Well it is still early in the big celebration but I feel confident.

Things are going well for me, although I feel like I've been chained to the stove the last few days Tonight I will make at least one casserole for tomorrow night, may leave the other to make tomorrow afternoon (only work 1/2 day on xmas eve). Need to get to the grocery store for fresh veggies/greens. Also need to go drop off table/chairs I am lending to my cousin for the big family dinner.

On a very happy note, I got to Onederland today. I have been losing about 1lb a week for a couple months, and all of a sudden this week, 5lbs! Don't ask me how...I don't know, but I'll take it!

We're back home (thankfully!!) - I was so happy to read Glenda say this is not about being perfect because, like so many, I'm far from it! I've managed to get my water and supplements in everyday, food has been "ok" but not perfect. Sleep is something I have really been lacking - 2 days before we left I started having trouble sleeping and it lasted through last night. I was getting 3 - 4 hours a night and believe me I obviously need more! (Especially when driving 7 hours at a time). I went to the clubhouse at the hotel one afternoon but there were people (mostly kids) on the machines and even after waiting for a half hour no one seemed to want to "share" so I left. They had an eliptical, stationary bike and a treadmill plus weights - not a "gym" quality workout room but better than nothing! Of course Sadie wanted to go on several long walks in the snow and ice.....so we did that quite often (3:00 a.m. is always a fun time to go for a walk....).

Today was much better, back to eggs for breakfast, salad for lunch and a bowl of legal chili for dinner. I haven't been on the scale for a week and have decided to wait for another week - I think the 1st of the year is a good date for me to try again.

Julie -- all I can say is "WOW" hun - great job!!

Great to hear from you guys. Keep in coming (if you have time) Great motivation for all us to huddle together.

Welcome back Carole. Sounds like it is good to be home too. Hope the shopping went well.

I had my christmas yesterday and it went well. I probably ate a fair bit of carbs but nothing illegal. They were mostly veggie carbs. Turkey gravy with guar gum is really good. Caulflower mashed is great and I love yam and rutabaga and event the brussel sprouts were delicious.

Now if I had any luck with the wireless network I tried to set up that would be great.

Just checking in. I am still doing well. I made some Italian sausage the other night and put a canned sauce on it that has 'sugar' declared on the label -- oddly enough it has 1 g fewer carbs than the one I got without sugar, and 1 more g of fiber ??? but anyway, I was 1.5 lbs heavier yesterday from it. I have been wondering for several (literally several, because I started wondering just before I got pregnant with my 5.5 yo daughter) if I have a problem with candida...

Didn't exercise yesterday (had many presents to wrap, cleaning to do, etc.) but my weight is back down, and I'm ahead of schedule for my fitness goals for the month. I did manage to keep my water drinking on track.

I'm sure I won't be checking in or exercising in the next two days, so everyone have a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

                      Hi all!

I'm glad to report that I have lost 4 and a half of the 6 lbs. I wanted to lose this month and I shouldn't have any trouble with eating tonight at my MIL's or tomorrow here at home because there will be plenty of legal foods to choose from!

I'm getting 5 days of exercise a week too but today my back is killing me so I'm not sure if I'll get on the elliptical tonight or not.

I'm taking my vitamins and now that the presents are all bought and wrapped, my stress level is lower.

I'm looking forward to a great Christmas and hope everyone else is too!

Checking in and needed to confess that I cheated today... I was in the Lions den and knew it too... Here I am baking cookies for my neighbors... one of my major weaknesses are my own homemade chocolate chip cookies... I haven't baked since last year.... I had three of them. I ended up getting sick and my body rejected them completely. I scrapped the whole thing, tossed the batter and cookies into the trash. I only left a few out for Santa, my son's request..... As soon as he's asleep, they're going to the trash too.... I feel miserable.

Aside from the cheat, I've been on track. Working out, taking my supplements and drinking my water....

                        Merry Christmas

Loving..thanks for confessing. Tomorrow is another day, right? I cheated too. I made dessert for everyone else. Nobody is interested in it. I have been on my feet all week, cooking, cleaning, etc and suddenly it just made me mad that my cake was sitting there unappreciated (or that is how I felt). So, I ate a piece. I feel bad..physically and mentally. But that is IT...tomorrow is another day and I will stay on schedule. I already have my meals and snacks planned.

Then, I was talking to my MiL and she said she almost brought brownies to us but didn't because she didn't think I needed them. Well, I know she didn't mean that in a negative way, she was trying to help but a part of me still took it the wrong way (just the negative thoughts I have).

On top of that TOM is here and I feel awful from that. BUT...other than the one cheat, I am eating ok, drinking water, taking supplements. Exercise could be better but isn't too bad I guess.

Hope everyone has a nice holiday. Jane

Xmas dinner 1 of 3 down. Went well. I overate, but legally. I am SO tired - it was a long, stressful, rushed day. My sisters wanted to get started as early as possible because they have young children (1 & 3, 2 & 4) and wanted to get them to bed early. I got stuck working later than planned, then the traffic was bad. Got home late, rushed to cook & get ready...but made it Starts all over again tomorrow

I have to admit some of the baking looked pretty tempting, but there were nuts to munch on, so I did that.

                              Merry Christmas everyone!

I hope everyone had a great Christmas morning. Time to count our blessings.
I hope everyone got something they wanted from Santa today. I wanted a renewed gym membership and I did get that. A whole year worth of gym which includes yoga classes is hust the best thing.
We did have the celebration a few days ago but I will cozy down with my DD today and try to do some fun things with her. She is loving her laptop so that is good. I will make us pancakes for breakfast - hers normal - mine low carb and we will probably make some biscuits and egg nog later.

Challenge wise - I feel good. I am doing fine in my field.

And Jane and Loving don't feel bad. It is not worth that. You did what you did. The only important thing is to go back to your low carb normal and things will be just right. Powerful stuff food sometimes. We just have to fight back.
