Here's a good one. We have homemade compost for the first time this year. Well for every plant that we put in we mixed some of it in the hole with the other soil to enrich it. Well, LOL, there are thousands of teeny plants growing out around all of the things we planted, so far I've recognized tiny pepper and tomato plants! Hmmm, I guess i shouldn't have been putting the seeds from my kitchen scraps in the compost bin! Whodda thunk? Now I'm going to be spending the whole summer weeding! Doh!

as you can see I am still on the deck ...I did move some pots around

it is my Sunday and I have to work a double tomorrow so I am not too anxious to actually move...I am trying to see what we can call weeds....

I had tons of tomato plants in my compost heap last year MOG it was funny I just let the go there and the tomatoes were good!

We have one of those composter bin thingys, with the lid and all, so they don't actually grow in the compost pile, but they grow where ever we used the compost! I guess we just didn't think ahead! LOL But I wonder why everything else decomposes and the seeds just sit and wait to be let out into the sunlight!? Very weird.

LOL! Bin der dun dat, and got the T-shirt! Spent all summer last year erradicating the hitchhikers that sprouted from the free municipal compost pile "good stuff" I top-dressed the yard with, and even from the "black cow" garden gold from my uncle's cattle farm I'd worked into some of the flower beds. Yes, the seeds even survived a ruminant's 4-stomach digestion!!
Sigh. At least the soil is healthier without the use of a lot of chemicals, and there's plenty of exercise in pulling & digging weeds. This year, I may try heat treating my compost... nah. I've already got a jungle exploding in the yard to tackle. The compost can wait another year.
BTW - how can I post a pic of a plant here?

on man the blackberries are so fast this yr. I've got berries ripening right off Mothers porch in a weed area I haven't tackled yet. I thought I'd just reach over the rail and get the weeds after the good rain but saw some dark red things in there. thinking it was some flower of hers I parted the weeds and lo and behold blackberries already. wow spring came early here.

MotherofGizmo - maybe you could sell them ...

I once read about a city park having been fertilized with treated sewage: There were tomatoes for all. Apparently nature intended us to eat them to disperse the seeds!!
