  • 4th of July Walking Challenge

    Hey ya'll. I am just finishing Day 4 and I haven't started exercising yet. So, I am thinking of a challenge of Walking to the 4th of July. I am going to walk one mile a day/five days a week. I know it is a modest goal and I sure hope I can exceed that, but I have to start somewhere and walking seems like a good place to begin. I encourage others who need to exercise to come walk with me. Together we can do it. I am beginning tomorrow (Monday, April 17). Come on, we can do it together.

        Wonderful to have you two on board. I just got done doing a one mile walk. It took me about 20 minutes and I am winded, but that is one day down and a gazillion to go. I did it, I did it.

          Let's see, I think that's 77 days? Hmmmm, I'm totally in for the challenge, I'm just wondering what kind of commitment I want to make!!

          Okay, I'm ready. I am committing to 3 miles a day, 5 days a week, for 15 miles a week. For the challenge of 11 weeks, that's 165 miles!!!!

            Staciaw: That was way too much math but I figured I better come up with my grand total walking goal and I will be working on 110 miles.

                Great job H20....we are on our way... Put me down for 1.5 miles (I hit the gym @ lunch)...
                I am happy to be in this challenge with all of you guys, Boxermom,stazia and of course H20..

                          I think it is great that you make that first move and 1 mile is a good amount for starters I will match your mile starting tuesday april 18th.

                              I'll join you for 2 miles per day/5 days per week.

                              Just one disclaimer: when it's rainy or too hot/cold I will substitute exercise machines for the walking!
                              Female / Currently on Extended Induction (again), begun 6/2/08.

                              I did Extended Induction from 1/3 to 5/9 (2006) and lost 55 pounds, so I know I can do it again!
