I haven't had time to walk the past few days. I should be able to log some miles this weekend.

Re: 4th of July Walking Challenge

I have geared up with some co-workers. So I'll be walking 2.3 or 2.5 still not sure which 5 times a week on my lunch. That should help to get me to my goal. Keep up the good work everyone.

Re: 4th of July Walking Challenge

I walked two miles today for 28/110 miles done. I don't think I will meet my goal ugh!) but I am going to increase the intensity of my workouts so I actually sweat. Two sweaty miles will do more for me than four comfortable miles.

Re: 4th of July Walking Challenge

Okay I have been looking at this post and looking wondering how can I possible commit to this walking challeng. Today is my 3rd day on Atkins and I am getting back a little energy that I once lost. Yesterday I walked one mile during the Walking Aerobics on On Demand.

I know I can committ to 5 miles a week!
My Overall 4th of July Walking Challenge as of 05/03 will be 50 miles!

I did Extended Induction from 1/3 to 5/9 (2006) and lost 55 pounds, so I know I can do it again!

                              Welcome to the challenge, Narose.

drosa75-three quarters of mile still counts and it is better than not moving.

Keep up the good work everyone.

Re: 4th of July Walking Challenge

I'm going to try this! I haven't been able to walk because of Achilles problems, but for the past few days, they've been better, and I have more energy.

My goal might seem low, but it's a start:

                                1st week: 1/2 mile a day
                                2nd week: 1 mile a day x 5
                                3rd week: 1.5 miles a day x 5

I'll adjust from there, after I see how the feet hold up! I'm trying to avoid surgery.
                                June Goals
                                1. Continue with water
                                2. Use bike more (3x per week would be nice).
                                3. Continue with videos.
                                4. Go to the YMCA for water classes.
                                5. Build stamina for more walking.

                                Goals for May:
                                1. Water every day - at least 100 oz.
                                2. Walk through Wal Mart instead of ride.
                                3. Post every day.
                                4. Get the exercise bike out of basement and use it!
                                5. Re-read DANDR! It's been too long.
