    • How hard is it (strenuousness wise)?

    Hey Adena!!
I have been doing Si6 off an on for a couple years. It is not complicated, nor hard. It consists of squats, lunges, plies, arm bands, crunches, push ups,umm what else girls?. Really, I sat and watched it before I actually jumped in and did it and thought: "Oh, this is not bad".HA! The truth of it is it WORKS your entire body! I lost a lot of inches staying with the program. I really think it is the best set I have, for results. Granted, there are other workouts that are more "fun". But for results. I vote for Si6 all the way!

ON that note, Kat. I am still nursing my back. (Stupid arthritis). Lucky I am working my job, not pushing it with extras just yet. Maybe tomorrow.

Hi Adena! I'm on my second week of slim in 6. I've been following the plan as described by the SI6 booklet, spent the first two days doing start it up (about a 25 min video) and now have moved on to ramp it up (close to 50 Min) and will do so till the beginning of week 3, where I start the final phase for the next 4 weeks. To answer your questions:
How hard is it: It is intense, I find this not so much in a cardio way, but rather in INTENSE sections of muscle working, most of the time spent in the videos involves doing squats and intensive lower body work paired with upper body movements (it really reminds me of work I would do one on one with a personal trainer). I came into this video in descent shape (i've been doing turbojam for several months as well as cardio and strength training) but the first 3 days of this series REALLY WORKED ME... i was seriously waddling like a duck (NO EXAGGERATION) but the pain left after a few days which I see as a sign of improvement. It is also suggested to do the video 6 days a week, which has taken some getting used to as I always took the whole weekend off of exercise, but this forum is keeping me motivated.
How complicated are the moves: I really find the moves pretty straight forward. You have to pay attention to your form, during things such as squats and lunges, but i've found all the moves to be pretty simple, it's just the repetition and intensity that makes them difficult. Debbie also does each move "fast" after each section, which takes a little getting used to, my 1st few days I skipped the fast movements and concentrated on my form during that time. Now I've caught on and it's all good.
Do you think they are superior: Yes and no. I think it's a wonderful program to really kick your booty into shape. I will definately stick to it for the six weeks and will probably bring it out if I really wanna work through a plateau or for an upcoming occasion, but I plan to work back in turbojam after the 6 weeks are over, possibly using SI6 a few times during the week. I've noticed a great difference on the scale, in inches, and in my own stamina in the short time I have been doing the program. What I find the program lacks is the fun factor. It's pretty straight forward, the music leaves much to be desired, and I find the instructors lack personality. (however, I am used to turbojam which is all aboout fun, tunes, and personality!) Lately, I've been turning off the video music and playing my own to make it a bit more fun.
So i've been super long-winded, but would I order it again? Most certainly!! I hope i've answered your questions!!! Good luck and good workouts!!!

Thanks so much, Barb! And thanks, Togagirl, for your detailed response. I really appreciate the insight. I think I might order it... But, based on what you said, I will probably push myself a little harder (and more frequently!) on my WATP videoes first. (I've been slack lately and need to get back into the exercise swing... Saty sneezed on me so I'd catch the bug. )

I think I'll make ordering Slim in 6 a reward for sticking with other exercises (WATP or walking/running outside) at least 4 days a week for 3 and a half weeks (starting today, ending Nov. 11)

Thanks again for the input, ladies.

Having a hard time doing my dvd. We have another couple living with us now and I cant workout with ppl around, lol. And the livinroom is the only room big enough. I have been just doing walk/jog intervals outside for now. I dont think imma make my quota, ugh! I know that mondays and fridays I will be able to because they are gone all day but not the others. I may still be able to sneak it in. I really liked it!

This is an off the wall comment but if you don't use your muscles you lose it. I read a medical journal that said the average 80 year old can't lift a gallon of milk which is 8 pounds. I don't mind getting old but I want to be healthy and strong.
Wow! You do the TWO MILE with WEIGHTS!! I am impressed! I couldn't finish the one mile...but as I put mine down she only went a minute or two more and then that part of the segment was over. Whew! It wore my little arms out!

I agree. We're exercisin and eating healthy so we can have a good future.

If you put the exercise bug in your siggie, he will come!

Seriously, I got the bug the first time I did the WATP walk/jog interval training. It just gave me such a boost! If you don't have this one, I would highly recommend it. Just a little over two weeks and people at work are commenting on how much I have lost and the inches must be moving again because my clothes are even looser this week. I noticed it especially in my saddlebag area. (If you don't have it, the seller on Ebay named lordjello has the best prices with free shipping. Let me know and I'll help you find it.)

Sorry to hear your back is still bothering you. It affects so much of your movement. Don't push it...make sure you're okay.

BTW, Adena, I vote for Slim in Six and WATP Power Series (includes walk/jog, walk/kick and power mile). Those are the only two that I've known that give such good results.
