  • JUNE - CHORES & EXERCISE Double Whammy Challenge

    Hey everybody

Never have time for exercise? Never have time to tidy the garage/clear the attic/weed the flowerbeds/wash the car…? And…are you (like me) a hopeless procrastinator?

Now is the time to move your “Good Intentions” from In Box to Out Box… in a real double whammy!

    Double whammy? I’ll explain:

Sure; sometimes it is hard to squeeze things into our busy schedules. Particularly those unpleasant chores that seem to loom over us for weeks. So… wouldn’t it be a bit easier if we were to do a little combining? I mean… let’s get out of the rut and kill two birds with one stone.

Why not join me in a Month of June “CHORES AND EXERCISE - Double Whammy Challenge”? We can encourage and support each other as we get a good job(s) done and, at the same time, chalk it up as our Atkins exercise, or part of it. Let’s go for that “doubly virtuous” buzz!

Lots of chores are real exercise. If it gets you moving/panting/sweating/hopping, then it counts. Boy does it count! So, let’s go ahead and count it. As long as we actually do it, that is. No more procrastination!

We can get those horrid “pending jobs” done, and get moving, while having fun encouraging each other along the way. All in the name of weight loss and better health. Exercise is exercise…however it’s done!

Never exercised before? Afraid to start? Well, use this challenge as your very first step towards a regular -or more traditional- exercise workout. Or, if you’re already up there on the exercise wagon, count your chores as a “bonus” extra to your usual routine. It’s all good… for everyone!

All you need to do is:

    - Commit here to getting a chore(s) done… one that involves movement… in a reasonable time frame of your choice, during the month of June… i.e. as fast as you think you can do it, or better still, just a tiny bit faster.
    - Report your progress here every so often.
    - Report mission accomplished.
    - Enjoy the accolades and the “Phew!” of a dreaded job well done, as well as getting to feel rightly virtuous for having exercised too!
    - On completion, choose one of the fun awards for your siggy that jimmie48 has so kindly made, especially for this challenge (Thank you Jimmie!).

Easy peasy! We can chat, grouse, commiserate, encourage and chivvy each other all along the road! What say you all?

    Any takers?

Re: JUNE - CHORES & EXERCISE Double Whammy Challenge

Well...we had fun in May and June is nearly upon us. Of course, I'm in for June too. Am still deciding on my chores for the month and I'll have to get them done in the first half of the month, as I won't be at home during the second half.

Hope some of you will join me in the new June Challenge!

Re: JUNE - CHORES & EXERCISE Double Whammy Challenge

As for me... my chore for June has got to be sorting out the house and the surrounding pool area ready for tenants in June. After major works to the pool, it's a mess! And the house needs lots of finishing touches, not to mention a good clean too.

I've got great incentive to get these chores done (and before the 12th): If I don't, I don't get to go on holiday!

Ok, I'm in, I have lots more that needs done around here and Sally you make it actually sound fun.

                      1. I am pledging to paint my stair area (walls) going down to the basement. Right now they're a dark green and I've hated them ever since I painted them that dark color. It looks like you're entering a dungeon. I've been putting this off.

                      2. Take bookcase full of books from one broken down bookcase, move an unused bookcase in it's place and transfer all books to that one. Donate books I don't want any longer to library and haul em down there.

                      3. Trim bushes out front of my house. Transfer some plants to another bed.

Sounds like a great idea! I'm in.
                            1. Clean out my utility room. It's where all the overflow goes, and it's about to overflow!
                            2. Re-do my son's bedroom--Move furniture and find out exactly what's under his bed (scary) Also, paint and put up new curtains & get rid of his outgrown clothes & toys
                            3. Straighten out my clothes situation. I have WAY too many, a lot that don't fit or I won't ever wear. Goodwill needs me!

That should take the whole month of June, but maybe I can do it faster with motivation from here. I did clean out my hall closet last weekend, and it wasn't as scary as I feared. Procrastination builds some chores into Monsters. Let's tame the beast!
                            Thanks!

Yep, count me in for June, too!

                              Here's my list...
Clean and organize all closets in the house
Clean and organize garage....we got rid of stuff last month, but now it's time to get things in order (as long as hubby's around to do his stuff so he'll know where it is).
Clean, replace light bulb fixures throughout the house.

That should give me one thing to do a week for the month of June to work on with being gone from home 1 week.

Man, if I get all this done in June, what will I create to do in July?? LOL. Okay, I'm probably thinking too far ahead now.

                              Yea for June Challenge, Sally!
