        ROFL!!!

Actually, the horse manure that I actually use looks like rich soil. It's last year's poo that has "matured." LOL

Re: JUNE - CHORES & EXERCISE Double Whammy Challenge

I like the idea of pictures. I'll take a couple, of the soon to be playarea and my worse closet (or 3 ).

Sally, I may need that whip!!! I've been badgering DH about renting a tiller for 2 weeks now. I asked him the other day if he had looked into where to rent one and he said no. I looked online this morning and found out Home Depot rents them so I IM'ed him the link. He IM's me back and says "Um. Yeah. I know" WTF! Said he didn't think it was important enough to mention. Argh! We have to go to a school function on Saturday but if it ends early enough, his behind will be at Home Depot!

Apple, I need some suggestions on shoes too!!!! Not quite sure what I'm going to do with them all. I'm hoping once everything else is in place that it will click with me. We have two narrow but long closets in our bedroom/bath (not walk-ins) and we just installed ceiling to floor shelving in one. Expensive, but I LOVE it!!!! There will be lots of room for things

Re: JUNE - CHORES & EXERCISE Double Whammy Challenge

Bio... railroad sleepers sound just like what you're talking about. You find them in gardens over here too... for steps, fences etc. Usually almost black with oil. Pretty cool looking though in some situations. Over here they've replaced them with cement ones now and I believe it's no longer legal for private people to have them in their gardens. Rather a pity.

Re pics.... anyone who wants to post before and after pics is welcome. It's so cool to see the results of everyone's efforts! The more the better... except the poo! Lol.

Cyn... the whip's yours when you need it! lol!

Everyone's soooo enthusiastic... wonderful! It's catching!

Re: JUNE - CHORES & EXERCISE Double Whammy Challenge

Cynthia, have you ever used a tiller before? It's hard work! Not as awful as double-digging a garden by hand, but more difficult than some people would imagine. In particular, it's a pain when breaking in new ground. If you're just tilling an old veggie garden, it's not too bad. The commercials you see on TV with some woman tilling with one hand...that is so misleading since it's soil that has already been tilled. Anyways, good luck on the tilling!

Sal, we're going to keep our railway sleepers for now, but either next year or the year after, we're going to replace it with either stone or man-made "stones." Ours are somewhat rotted in places, so they need to go.

I'm hoping it'll stop raining by the weekend. It's been quite wet around here and most areas are flooded. Tilling for us may have to wait until mid-June or so. I'll still take pictures. At least it'll be easier to pull the weeds up by hand.

Bio - No, I have never used a tiller before, but that's what DH is for! I do plan on helping as much as I can though. If he can till the area I want, I plan on doing the rest. I want to lay out landscaping timber and then fill in with mulch.

Not sure if I'll get a chance to start on anything today, but I do plan on taking pics today.

Ok I'm in for this challange. This is my 3rd one i've signed up for today(i think i'm losing my mind or just really motivated lol) Anyways, I live in a brand new apartment, so there isnt any painting to do or flowers to tend, however I am a fulltime nanny and my boss' house needs a few things.

                    1. Help re-organize little Maggie's room and playroom(sort clothes, add new books to her library, and clean/sort the toys) and help finish the mural being painted on her bedroom wall.
                    2. Make the new garden we started magnificent(weeding, pruning, picking, watering etc..i'll take lots of pics)
3.Carry the baby(little Jeanne) up and down the stairs at least 20 times a day(I usually try and condense the amount of trips I have to take)

Re: JUNE - CHORES & EXERCISE Double Whammy Challenge

sal, i'm still working on getting jack into this but he's being stubborn. i have his honeydo list all made out and ready to post if he decides to take this on.

i have made my own list of things that i want to get done this month.
                        1. paint the back steps
                        2. clean up the basement
                        3. kill the weeds in the drive
4.trim the bushes at the front window
5.remove the iron stake that is bent over and sitting right in there with no purpose in the back yard. [[[[[scrtching head wondering what's that all about]]]]]
6.add rocks to the border on the very small hasta bed out back
                        7. add some bushes and/or flowers to the front porch area.
                        8. trim the lower branches off the trees that are brushing up against the kitchen window
and if i have the strength (this will purely be a bonus)
                        9. i want the rusted clothesline pole (there's only 1) removed from the yard.
