      1. Clean out my utility room. It's where all the overflow goes, and it's about to overflow!
      2. Re-do my son's bedroom--Move furniture and find out exactly what's under his bed (scary) Also, paint and put up new curtains & get rid of his outgrown clothes & toys
      3. Straighten out my clothes situation. I have WAY too many, a lot that don't fit or I won't ever wear. Goodwill needs me!

That should take the whole month of June, but maybe I can do it faster with motivation from here. I did clean out my hall closet last weekend, and it wasn't as scary as I feared. Procrastination builds some chores into Monsters. Let's tame the beast!
      Thanks!
Welcome to the fun Caryl. Well... we had fun last month, so this month will hopefully be the same! I know what you mean about procrastination turning chores into Monsters. Doesn't it just !
We can tame those beasts together! I've put you down on my list.

Clean, replace light bulb fixures throughout the house.

That should give me one thing to do a week for the month of June to work on with being gone from home 1 week.

Man, if I get all this done in June, what will I create to do in July?? LOL. Okay, I'm probably thinking too far ahead now.

        Yea for June Challenge, Sally!
Okay dokey apple... you're on my little list!
Don't worry... we're breaking for the summer months after June, to re-start in the fall, so you've plenty of time to dream up other tasks!

Re: JUNE - CHORES & EXERCISE Double Whammy Challenge

Can I join?? I want in!! Truth be told, I'm terrible at exercising, and I recently (Dec) moved house, so I have lots to do!!

Not Sure if this is how it works, but here it goes....

For June I would like to start exercising at the VERY LEAST 3 times a week, either walking or using my clothes horse <AHEM> I mean recumbent bike.

            1. Finish painting the kitchen
            2. Paint the hall area upstairs and down.
            3. Clean all kitchen cabinets inside and out and try to get them organized!

I need tough love. If Im allowed in this challenge, everyone should get a badge for just trying to keep me motivated

ok, here's my chore list for June:

                - create play area in backyard for kids, I'm allowing the whole month for this as I will need to depend on DH for some assistance

                - Clean out all closets. I'd like to have this done by June 9. Closets to be done are: pantry, coat/game closet, my bathroom closet, my bedroom closet, linen closet, and both kids' rooms closets. Most will be fairly easy, but my bathroom and game/coat closet may take some time.

                - Finish setting up my work space using "Getting Things Done" by David Allen. I'd like to have this done by June 16.

Nice that you decided to join us Junebug! I'll put you down on my list for your house chores. And congrats on deciding to regular exercise too!

Tough love? Well, we'll just have to try to crack the proverbial whip then (yeah, that one jimmie mentioned ), so we can earn your award!! I say it in plural, cos I don't want to be the only bossy one around here!

Make sure you badger your DH for his help, so you're able to get done in time. I'll lend you that whip we were talking about, if you like!

Hey Sal! I'm gonna join in this month.

My chores for June (so far!) are the following:

                        1. Sort through ALL books and donate unwanted ones to public library.
                        2. Weed gardens.
                        3. Start tilling a new area to become a new bed for irises later in the fall & potentially to plant a rose hedge next spring.
                        4. Remove parts of old railroad wood & gravel to lay down weed block, replace items, and then place a thick layer of mulch over it.
                        5. Build a archway arbor for a climbing rose by item #4.
                        6. Haul & distribute lots of horse manure from BIL farm to my house for gardens.

Welcome Bio! Nice to have you aboard. Sounds like you're feeling energetic! Do you have a railroad running through your garden then... or do you mean railway sleepers? Your garden sounds so romantic... or it will be at the end of June!

No railroad through my garden....and I have no idea why railroad sleepers are, but then, your British slang always sound cute to me.

Some people call them railroad ties??? It's the lumber that used to be along the railroad tracks and then the RR pulls them up for some reason to replace them with new ones. Hope that makes sense.

Garden is not romantic now....maybe in a few years when the shrub roses grow up.
