geez, mickkey, i can't believe you're out in the heat of the south doing the yard work. make sure you get plenty of water in. i know what that heat can do a person.
i'd love to put a trellis up around the front porch. don't know if that will ever happen though. it would be pretty! looking forward to seeing the pic. that vine wouldn't be a trumpet vine would it?

cynthia, you poor girl. are you really going to have to move the rocks again? talk about a double whammy!

oh yes yes.. that big box is my tree. a hobby lobby good price tree. it's big and wonderful even without lights. i love that tree! i got things i don't use any more for christmas and i've refused to rid myself of them. maybe this will be the year.

Cynthia--Are you really gonna move those rocks again? Poor girl! I feel for you!

Mickkey, make sure you drink plenty of water when you're out working in the heat and try to do work on the shady side of the house when possible, depending on the time of day. I'm looking forward to looking at the plant pic...hopefully we can tell what kind of plant it is. There are quite a few plants that will draw hummingbirds, but it's a shame that your hasn't bloomed. A close up pic of the leaves will help in the ID.

Mickkey - I'm chiming in about the water too! The other day I didn't drink nearly enough before I went out and did yardwork in the heat - I had such a headache afterward!

Jimmie and Bio - I haven't decided yet if I'm going to move all those rocks. If I do, it won't be very far I may just have a rounded corner as that's the part that's left to do. I need to get a new wheelbarrow first. I've gotten all the rocks from the back of the house ok but I don't know if I could carry all those rocks from the front of the house! DH snapped the handle off the wheelbarrow the last time he used it by trying to carry 5-600 lbs of cement in it!

i noticed that window cleaning bit. lol

i've got these great windows that will fold in (not the correct term) for easy cleaning. i can longer use the excuse, "i can't get to the outside of the window". i'm with you.... yuk

Lucky you Jimmie. I've seen those windows and wish I had them on my house. Unfortunately I don't and I live in a 2 story and even some of my windows on the first floor are really high because of the cathedral ceiling. So, that means a ladder! Blah!

Then there is the problem of doing the outside and then the inside and having to crawl back on the ladder on the outside and always having the streak on the side you aren't currently cleaning...Oh Lord I just hate it!

Hmmm...maybe I'll wait for some help so that I can get both sides of a window done at the same time. Perhaps I'll recruit my daughter...hehehe.

oh oh oh! let me give you a tip!

when wiping inside, go up and down and on the outside go side to side. if you miss something, you'll be able to tell what side of the glass it's on because of the way the streak marks go.

i use water and vinegar and have been known to use newspaper to wipe the solution off. always worked like a charm.

i got the second story to deal with too and it's an old house so the wiindows are quite tall. i'm very thankful ( i guess) that i have these windows.

when all else fails.............. mini blinds! lolol

                  That's a great tip, Jimmie!

We own a one of those long, extendable poles that you can attach the window cleaning sponge and then a squeege to wash our upper windows. It works well for the most part, but it is not as good as doing it by hand.

Thank you Jimmie for the tip...I had read that somewhere before and I usually do that up and down for one side and side to side for the other.

I have tried newspaper and the vinegar and water, my mom used to use that all the time.

I have this special cloth that I use though and it works pretty good. I too have one of those poles but you are right they don't do as good of a job as you can do by hand.

I bought this product by windex that you hook up to your hose and its supposed to clean your windows on the outside. Gonna try that for some of the higher windows I think...hope it works...anyone ever tried it?

Anyway, I'll get to the windows but it will probably be the last thing on my list of chores...hehehe

Sweet, I tried that product (or one similar to it) and for us, it didn't work. It left the windows very streaky, even though the bottle said it wouldn't.

                              Hi ladies:
My house was a complete disaster this morning....it just makes me miserable! So, I am trying to clean it up. I got very distracted by a computer game though, then I was hungry, then I decided that trying to mow the back lawn would be a better idea! We've had about 2 weeks of rain, which started just after we fertilized the back yard..hahahaha...oh my God you should see it. The cat loves it because she thinks she's in a jungle. So I go out there and just about blew up the lawn mower because the grass is so thick and saturated. I got half way and decided to stop. Plus which, my dog has hidden many, many things in that long grass and every time I hit one, he'd duck his head. He's probably thinking, "Doh!".
I did spend about 10 minutes in the room from h*ll. I just have to do it, don't I? Yes, MG you do. Get off the computer and get in there!
                              • clean out and reorganize kitchen cupboards...DONE!
                              • get my flower gardens organized...weeded, borders fixed where needed, soil added, plants planted. DONE!
                              • paint the fence
                              • paint spare room
                              • declutter sewing room, which has now become a depository for any and all junk/clutter. Started~~June 8th
                              • make mowing the front lawn my job so hubby only has to do the back. Hubby beat me to the front, so I started the back!
                              • help hubby apply the driveway sealer. Done
                              • clean out entire fridge every 2 weeks. I love a clean fridge! Done once on June 1st. Done on June 15th

                                3. Straighten out my clothes situation. I have WAY too many, a lot that don't fit or I won't ever wear. Goodwill needs me! DONE!

We're going to go buy paint and get started on that sometime this week. Thanks guys, my house looks so much better already. Still have tons to do to get it all where I want, but I"VE MADE PROGRESS!
