zencyn....what a great job on the pantry and the closet!! Love the little helper! I agree you do deserve a dip in the pool

Jimmie....great job on the painting of the stairs.

I'm taking the day off from doing any of the chores listed to study for my last test in ECON...aside from the everyday tasks of dishes and such.

But...I'm getting some great ideas seeing zencyn's pantry! I like the metal storage rack you have in there and the way you have the kids snacks stored neatly away. My girls are like wild animals on the hunt looking for snacks and the pantry ends up looking like a tornado!

Hi everyone. Cynthia that little baby is so gorgeous! Well done everyone on getting ahead with those chores!
I'm a little behind my planned chores, have had a busy week away from home. But tonight I started on my bureau and have already managed to put 2 black sacks of rubbish together.
I also started on my clothes sort - problem is that I'm finding it difficult to decide to throw anything away! I know the rule of thumb is not to keep anything that you haven't worn in 1 year, but for me, a lot of those clothes are too small for me & I know I'll fit them soon. So for that reason, I'm going to hold onto some small clothes for now. I'll definetly be throwing out the big stuff though! No excuse to getting bigger and fitting into them again!

I'm adding another chore to my original list - sort out the laundry closet. I'm sure I've got sheets/curtains/duvet sets in there that I havent seen in years!

apple, having snacks pre-portioned is one of the best things I have ever done! At snack time the kids and look in the box and pick one baggie, there's no bits and pieces of bags every where, and when we are rushing around trying to get out the door for the day, the snacks are ready to grab and go Plus it is cheaper than buying the snack packs and I normally buy pretty healthy stuff that doesn't normally some in snack size packaging.

And great news!!! DH finally tilled the playarea corner so now I can get to work on it! I'm hoping it doesn't rain tomorrow so I can get started. This is the corner that had the poison ivy, so I'm going to go around with weed killer and then lay down some landscape fabric. After that, I'm going to outline the area with these large rocks that the previous owners had used to go around the house for some reason? It was a bad idea on their part as it is trapping moisture right next to the foundation. After I outline the area, I'm going to lay down mulch and then put their playhouse and sandbox over there. I'm going to have to empty the sandbox anyway because it has plants growing in it!!! The lid doesn't cover very well and after it rained one time I saw greenery in it! lol

Wonderful job on those steps jimmie... they look really good, that colour.

Cynthia... wow! That's a closet to be proud of!! And pantry too. You've been hard at it. Hope you enjoyed that well earned dip.
Good to hear your DH did his stuff on the playarea! Cool. As for baby Sarah... she's such a sweetie!

Poor Apple... not much of a day off if you have to study. Good luck with your test!

I've got a total attack planned on the rental house tomorrow. Will have my usual help, to get done in time, but there'll still be loads and loads of work for me. Takes two people to sort that house out at the start of the season, as I know from experience. Saturdays (when we usually have changeovers) are always a nightmare.

The men (hub and my helper's hub) are attacking the pool again (still a few probs left). That might sound like they're stealing my job... but I know they'll just cause more chaos to clear up. Why is it that men always need clearing up after, when they do anything that involves paint, cement, hammers, nails etc? Women don't... or am I being sexist?

Sally, you are so right. Whenever by bf makes dinner, he somehow manages to not only take about 2 hours to do a simple meal, but use every and I mean every utensil and saucepan in the house! So for me, no your not being sexist!

Wow....you guys are really burning through your lists! The pics are all so great too. All those cleaned up closet pics make me want to get to it....I have the room from h*ll waiting for me and I just stand in the doorway staring at it, not sure where to start.
I love the "anti-Lowes"!!! However, easy for me to say because I have never stepped foot in a Lowes. They must have them in Canada, but I haven't seen one. Will have to check that out.
I'm off to get my remaining plants in and anything else I can think of before I have no choice but to tackle THE ROOM.
                  Later.....

Ohhhh... now men in the kitchen I could write a book about! A woman gets on and cooks a meal. A man, on the other hand, is like a surgeon who needs someone to "assist" him in every way possible. The assistant has to pass him everything: wooden spoons, knives, forks, cutting boards, vegetables (possibly ready washed and prepared) and be at his beck and call... and is particularly useful after he's created his masterpiece and it's time to wash everything up. And you're right... usually every single thing in the kitchen!
