Re: JUNE - CHORES & EXERCISE Double Whammy Challenge

Sally - I think this Chore Challenge idea is great! I'm working on my clothes closet today and found my library card that has been missing for months!!!!! I think what happened was that it was in the pocket of a pair of pants and when I hung them up it fell out behind a bin that I had on the floor - thanks!!!

Cynthia.... That closet is totally transformed! Good for you! Wanna come and do some of mine??? Ultra cool that you found that library ticket!
msmichelle... those tomatoes are mouth-watering! Absolutely the degree of ripeness that I like! Just turning colour. Over here we sometimes eat them almost totally green; but I think it depends on the type of tomato you plant.

Thanks so much for posting pics, both of you!

Jimmie... let us know how your Damprid stuff works out.

I'm really impressed with everyone's activity levels so far! You're all steaming ahead at full speed.
I too have got some more done on the pool area.... hope to attack the house and get it done in a massive 'all day' effort. Gotta do it soon though. Departure date looms!

Re: JUNE - CHORES & EXERCISE Double Whammy Challenge

            Michelle...those are nice tomatoes!

Jimmie...I wonder if you can get them at your local plant nursery? Please to tell us if that damprid stuff works. We're in a dry climate, but there seems to get moisture in some of the closets...so I found this week with wipe down the backs of the closets with a deluted mix of Mr. Clean and water. UGh!

zencyn...I want to come play at your house!!!! Totally love all the games! Oh, you did a fantastic job on that closet!!! I bet your kids will have a great time finding their favorite games even more. Cool for finding you library card

Sally....good luck with the pool cleaning and attacking the house

3/5 closets done for 1 part of my chore list. Started out as doing closets and now has ended up to be closet/rooms. 2 more bags of stuff to go for donation or yardsale, and 1 1/2 bags of trash from my oldest's room.

Oldest found 2 of her DS games in a purse that was "hidden" under a pile of "STUFF" in the closet. According to her...LIFE IS GOOD! lol..

Lunch break....and then start on youngest's closet.

The tomato plants look great!!! I can almost taste those tomatoes, too!

Way to go on that closet, Cynthia!! It looks like you had one of those professional organizers come in to work their magic.

I'm not certain if the garden center would have dessicating rocks or not. I know they have the type that holds water & releases it slowly to help water plants, but I don't think it's the same thing.

Looks like we're getting a lot of things done around here!!!! After work, I'm off to Home Depot to get more garden soil to help loosen up the clay soil. Hopefully, I'll get my plantings done today or tomorrow.

Psst...don't tell Jimmie that you're going to Anti-Lowes, Bio...LOL...I went there last week to get more daisies ONLY because we don't have a Lowes in our area (is that safe enough to say?), and my dad works there, I had to say hi <giggle>.

silenced...cool beans on getting your stuff done. How cool to have a contest like that. I wish our neighborhood would do that. Sure does keep the face value up on the properties...if anything. Have fun!

Okay, closet #4 and bedroom with it are now cleaned, organized, and ready for the summer.

Closet #5...the final frontier...is the hall closet. And I thought the other 4 were scary. Eek.

I wish I was a professional organizer - I think it would be tons of fun My house doesn't look like it now, but I really do like to be organized. The problem is when we moved here last year, this house is 800 sq ft smaller than our old house and I was pregnant with complications and couldn't really do a lot. Then after the baby got here I had severe post-partum and it wasn't until recently that I've actually started doing a lot around the house. So now it's purge, purge, purge!!! You can't organize clutter, so I have to be tough and get rid of stuff - even if that means doing it behind DH's back! lol

I am now a Lowe's customer. Anti-Lowe's really pissed DH and I off and we are not going back. DH blogged about the incident and then sent the blog to Anti-Lowe's customer service department

Well, we've had our share of bad service at HD, but unfortunately, we don't have a Lowe's in this town. However, when we do go to Kansas City, we'll shop in one.

Got some more weeding done, but that is a never-ending process, eh?

Sally, they're both the do-it-yourself-stores here in the US..saleing everything from plumbing, wood, appliances, to garden.

Zencyn...lol..behind you hubby's back getting rid of stuff is funny....yes, I did that the other day, but it was only old shirts and pants; his tools are another story. LOL.

#5 on the list of things to do today...plus clean out the fridge. The fridge is almost empty of it's contents, so this is a good day to remove the shelves, etc. to hose it down.

sal, more info on the anti lowes thing.

you see, my driver, jimmie johnson of the number 48 car (hence my name, jimmie 48. ) is sponsored by LOWES. the aforementioned store which i can't stand is being referred to as the anti lowes. see, i don't want to ever spend money at the anti lowes because they sponsor another driver who i really dislike.

i've been out doing some of my challenge. pictures to follow!
