Well sheesh! And I WAS going to post a pic of my rose-footed tarantula!

hopejoy, are you trying to back out of this challenge?? I don't think so, missy! This is only the 19th...you've got plenty of time to finish this one out a winner!

Second chore finished; change out bookcases, donate, and take books to library. I did have my son help me move the broken bookcase from one room to another and the other one into it's spot. I also painted the mirror frame. Hope I can get these pictures loaded right.

Biogeek, no you didn't. No need for you to apologize. I can usually make myself feel stupid without anyone's help, believe me. I almost took a picture and posted it of a spider I killed last night in my bathroom just so you could identify it!. But, I thought Cynthia might freak!

very nice looking. the bookcase and mirror flow better like one unit. i like the white in the small space. the dark colors seem to close things up. i have that problem with some things here but they aren't getting changed at this point.
        good job, mickkey!

i've done a bit of potting plants for the front porch. it might be all i can do. money is a bit tight, as usual, but even more so with number 2 son living here right now.

That's amazing what color can do!! The white looks so clean compared to the original brown color! Great job, Mickkey!!!

Thanks everyone! It was just something I put off forever. White always makes things look bigger doesn't it?

Jimmie I understand that. I'm buying one gallon of paint to finish up my next chore and it better cover it! lol.... Or look crappy, which ever. You know guys, I might use some left over paint I have here. I have mixed paints before and called it my "custom color"...in reality....lack of $$.

Jimmie, always nice to know that kids come home again. Which is fine by me as long as they don't want mom to cook and do laundry.

Biogeek, I wouldn't mind seeing your spider pics sometime.

truth be told mickkey, i was not one of the moms that boohooed over kids leaving home. long story that we won't go into.
i love my kids but they are grown men and enjoy living on their own. he's only here for a short while till he gets a couple of paychecks in the bank then he'll be moving to his own place.

i do cook for him but he's been doing his own laundry for a very long time.

i'm thinking i may have a whack at painting a design on the front porch. what can it hurt? i got more of the barn red paint i could use. hmmmmmm
that would add color and character without spending anymore money. i think i have a plan!

We were thrilled at becoming empty-nesters!!! We love it when they visit, and are happy when we have the house to ourselves again.

Mickkey, I'll take some pics for you. I'll try to get a brave soul to hold it in their hand so that you can get a good look at it. Otherwise, the glass from its home with reflect the flash from the camera. I'll post them in my journal thread when the time comes. I don't have my camera at work today, so maybe tomorrow or so.

i'm here, mickkey! i see that sal is back too, but hasn't checked in here yet. our fearless leader returns!

i still have gotten nothing more done to the porch although jack did change out the plywood window to the real thing which made the side of the porch look much better, if that counts. i might go to the store today and see if i can't find some little cheap doodads to place around the porch.
the single clothesline pole is still in the yard. it was my bonus project. if its cemented in the ground i won't be able to move it by myself. i didn't want that counting against me if it didn't get done.

jack replaced 3 windows over the weekend so i have another hole in the basement. it looks better than it did before.

I'm here, too! I did all kinds of work over the weekend & would have taken some pictures, but I ran out of batteries. I'll buy some after work and take them then.

Well hellooooooo there you guys! This feels like coming home!!

Just loved reading up on all your doings. All that talk of rocks, bookcases, spiders (I'm with Mickkey... would love to see pics), painting, bookcases, yardwork.... Oh my, you've all been so busy! And some lovely pics too. Great work and achievements chums! Terrific! Seems Bio didn't get to use my whip at all... (Thanks Bio for keeping an eye).

I had a great time... lots and lots of walking; sometimes ten miles. Even managed to shed a pound and was certainly eating more carbs (healthy carbs though, like nuts and fruit), which I put down to the hiking.

On return finished my chores and got everything ready for tenants arrival (well, I had to get it all finished). Pool is looking great, but now there's a small mystery leak. Grrrrr... always something, but we're on to it! House also looking spic and span. Tenents were very happy and no doubt will mess it up in a jiffy.
At home am back to lugging the hose up the terraces to water the two transplanted olive trees, as we're having horribly hot and muggy weather. The big one is looking good, but the little one seems half dead. It's too early to know if they'll both take or not... sometimes they can seem dead, but suddenly, after even a year, they'll start sprouting again. Am hopeful. I'll try to take a couple of pics, so you can all maybe send good health vibes to the poor little one.

Hey! Just noticed it's only a few days to the end of the month. Is everyone ready for that last spurt of energy??? (you too Liz!! )

Oh... as I have a few extra days in hand, I'm adding in one last minute chore: I'm gonna get my fridge cleaned out if it kills me! And one of the freezers defrosted...

Ok, now I've said it... I'll have to do it!

I'm so glad you all are here still working away on your chores! Makes me glad I signed up because I could really procrastinate and put it off.

I'm here, too...although to be honest, I'm not looking forward to finishing my chores for the month. I want to go back on vacation! Hubby says I'm apparently still in vacation mode according to what has or has not been put away yet. He is a smart man not to ellaborate on that comment.

Okay, I have to bring up my list in this post because I forgot which ones I had left to do....in a week left of the month. UGH! Okay, I WILL get cracking on these yet! I will...
