  • June Stability Ball Exercise Challenge ~ sign up and reporting thread

    Exercises that count in this challenge include, but are NOT (thank you, bio) limited to:

    lying hamstring curls
    tricep extensions
    reverse crunches
    lying leg press
    push ups
    jackknife
    stretching
    slow swim
    side plank
    seated leg extension
    bridge ball squats
    1 arm rows


    ........... any exercise that you are using your stability ball will count.

    Please state how many minutes you are committing to in June, in this thread and then during the month try to check in each time you rack up the minutes.

      Oops! I didn't see this thread before posting in the May thread. I'm going to shoot for 150 min.

      I don't know if any of you get fittv, but I happened to flip it on one day when they had a stability ball show on. I dvr'd it but haven't watched it yet, this will give me the incentive to do so!

        and oops... i should have checked here first to see if you found the thread. i'm too tired.

        i don't get that but i did the same thing when we had the other cable company. i recorded 4 different workouts of various degree of difficulty. i do those and add in the chest press, dumbell pull overs etc.

        good to have you joining me. i'm not sure if bio is going again or not.

          Jimmie...I'm trying to view all these exercises first to see if I can do them (because of my back...can't do forward bending)...but I can't find lying leg press in the list on the Spark site. Is it called something else?

            mg, that might be one that christy was explaining to us and that's the name we gave it.
            one of the leg presses that i have been doing requires you to lay flat on the mat/floor, knees bent with the ball between your knees. then you literally start squeezing the daylights out of the ball. it's good for the inner thigh.

            christy's lying leg press:
            lay on the mat/floor, on you side. bottom leg bent at the knee, upper leg resting on the ball at your ankle. in this position you press down on the ball, then release.

                i do one sometimes, when i am not doing the tapes.
                lie on your back knees bent, ball against a wall or other sturdy object. slowly press your feet into the ball, slowly release. to make it a bit harder, rest your right ankle on the left knee and press the ball with your left leg. change sides.

                i find all of these really helpful when i have biked a long distance or have done major flights for exercise.

                      be assured that any and all ball exercise counts towards your goal. the things listed are just some of the things the challengers have done or are doing. sorry for the mistake.

                        This was taken October 2007, I weigh 375.

                        I was on atkins last year in the early fall and lost about 30 pounds. I obviously gained it back...but I know this is the right diet for me as it works very good. So I am back!
