Ow, Wendy! Hope you feel better tomorrow.

Power 90 was tough last night. I really hate Power Yoga, but it does make me more flexible.

    Keep up the good work!

Is it too late to join? I need to get back to SI6 and the challenges seem to be the best way for me to do this.

I'm planning on starting tomorrow with Start It Up (again!).

Hi gbu - speedygt03 started this challenge & I didn't see any rules about when you can join - I actually joined a week or two into my 6 weeks!

Today's progress: I skipped through a great deal of BIU again today - my ribcage on the right side is super painful. I don't know if there's a cracked rib in there or what, but it's awful. May take myself to the doc tomorrow to check it out - but I think they don't do anything for a cracked rib other than rest/wait it out anyway. I did fine on all the straight crunches, but the obliques or any other moves that puts pressure on that side of my ribs is impossible! I went heavy on all the stuff that I CAN do though - hope that makes up for the stuff I skipped a little bit.

Hope you're feeling better, Wendy--sore ribs are no fun at all. Do what you can and don't strain when it's already hurting.

qbu--I'm sure it's fine to join in--hopefully we can keep this thread going awhile--I'm going to start SI6 when I'm done with Power 90--still 6 or 7 more weeks to go. My ADD is getting tired of it already--I'm ready to move on to Slim in 6.

Well, I gues it's OK, so here goes...I did Start It Up today and it felt like it lasted forever to me! I used to do the Slim Series without any trouble and now a 25 minute beginning workout is killing me!

I've started my exercise again and I will continue with it!

Re: *slim In 6 ~ I Hate To Love It!*

Good for you gbu! Remember from before that it gets a little better every day, right?

I made it through Burn it Up again tonight - and I took your advice Caryl - skipped the pushups and oblique crunches. But I doubled up on my straight crunches since that doesn't seem to push on my ribcage as bad.

Of course, popping a few Advil an hour before I started might have been why it didn't hurt as bad tonight too!

I hope it's not a fracture because I've heard that can take 3-4 weeks to really start feeling better & that's longer than I've got left on SI6! And I want to finish this with awesome results so much!!!

Wendy, are your knee and wrist better? Take it easy on those ribs--if the straight crunches work without causing more pain, that ought to still give you some good results. I think the rule is, if it's a sharp pain--DON"T DO IT. Causing more damage won't help and will just put you behind. You're doing great!

qbu--good for keeping at it even when it's hard. It gets easier faster than you'll believe.

I've had to miss a couple of days of Power 90, I pulled something in my foot and compounded with my allergy attack I needed the time. Got back with it today, even upped my weights. Foot isn't as swollen, so all's good.

Hey guys well I took last week off but this week i'm going to hit it up big time. I did Burn it up this morning so that's 18/36 I guess I"m half way there. phew!

Tomorrow I plan on doing some of my new tapes but I"m not sure in which order I should do them. The beach body website isn't very clear on what tape to do first. For those of you who have tried the SLim series which tape did you do after burn it up, and in what order, and duration?

                  Thanks

Gosh, I was feeling really bad for taking time off too... I had a fam reuion at my house and just couldn't fit it in... then got sick! darn it! (I cheated... sad face... that's why I got sick!) anyways... I went almost a week without doing slimn6... but did walk... but anyways... I'm back on track and wt is back to normal same... redoing induction for a few days.. and that's it!
Workout went good considering that I'm still sick and hadn't done it in a week...
I have to say... everytime she says 'If it's burning, it's working...' I laugh and think of all of you! he he!

Re: *slim In 6 ~ I Hate To Love It!*

I took yesterday night off in order to try some muscle relaxers that the doctor prescribed to try and relax the muscles around my ribs some. I also ended up going on a WILD BINGE with every sugary thing in the house I could put my hands on!

But that was yesterday and I'm putting it behind me. Today I was good and made it through even more of the BIU than I have since the accident - even some of the moves that put some pressure on my ribs. Tonight it didn't result in a sharp pain - just very uncomfortable/lots of pressure, so I figure I'm well on the way to healing!

Take it easy Wendy you don't want to over do and really hurt yourself. I know you know all of this but I wouldn't want you to hurt yourself and then have to be out longer. Of course I should practice what I preach, cause eventhough the lunges hurt my knees and they pop three times every time I go down there I am still doing them, sigh. Oh well I guess we all have to learn tactics to be gentle with our bodies but still push for that extra burn. Maybe I should do plies the entire time she is doing the lunges, hmmm, something to think about.

As for the food, I decided a while ago that I simply refuse to beat myself up about not being perfect anymore. Maybe people disagree with me but I have been following atkins for about 3 years now, no I haven't been perfect, yes I've cheated along the way, and no I am not proud of it either. But I refuse to agonize over every thing that I do wrong with this program. Instead I pick myself up, dust myself off, and get right back on. Before if I cheated I would retreat into shame, I would not come on the board, I would keep ti to myself, which just spiraled me into more cheating, I refuse! Instead now I accept my defaults and celebrate my successes. It's my way of being kind to myself, something we all can practice more doing.

                          Hey guys. Checking in.

I posted in my journal - and here is my reality.

If I have to do another 6 days in a row of Si6, I'll SCREAM. I'm becoming avoidant and super crabby, so I found an alternative and that alternative will still have me Si6ing a couple of days a week.

I'm sorry. I'm really not wussing out here- I've done Si6 9-11 times in total over the last 5 years and I can recite every word, every breathe, every gesture, every thought for all of the workouts and I'm beyond bored and tired. I had to find a way to continue to challenge myself and keep myself interested. Right now, Si6 just ain't it.

                          I'm sorry.

                            Hey Brook,
We'll miss you... glad your gonna do it a couple times a week...
I'm finding it really hard to do 6 days a week especially in combo with C25k... course, I just had a fam reunion at my house for 3 days and got sick and am wiped out from that so my perspective is a little off... going to do it again in am, well that's the plan anyhow... what are you doing instead of slimn6?

Liz, I've started taking Jazzercise classes and have found that there is so much more to those classes than I ever thought their was! It was a great surprise! They kick my butt every bit as much as Si6 and though I've never been one for group classes I'm finding that I really enjoy them!!

I'll be taking Jazzercise 4 times a week and doing Si6 1-2 days a week.

Like the first post I did when starting this challenge, I added that I have never completed the entire 6 weeks like it was intended. and this time is no different.
Im still in the RUT of letting any and all my personal life issues knock me off this routine i was on. So i'm totally off the wagon this time around. Once I get my butt in gear, im going to commit myself but its not happening this week. I suck. I know.
