Re: New Couch To 5 K Program

    Thanks Jimmie!

APanthesilia, I am going to have to call you "Pan" because, that's just hard! Anyway, did you read the reviews? Quite impressive and tested by very reputable people. I am an F cup but according to my measurements, I fit into their size 4. Luckily, there is a store not far from me that, according to the website, carries the bras. I will let you know as soon as I get one!

Sorry, I bra jacked the running thread but it is kina related, right?

Porcelain - let us know how it works. Right now I just wear a sports bra that is too small so it holds the girls close.

I am planning on running with my friend today. The high temperature is only going to be 20, but we agreed ahead of time that unless it was raining or snowing, we were going to be running! It's W2D2 for me. I am looking forward to it. (OMG, did I just say that?)!

      Have a wonderful Sunday everyone.

Re: New Couch To 5 K Program

I am going today to try it on. They only have one in my size and it is black..I really don't want a black exercise bra, all my exercise shirts are pale colors. I will probably try it on and it if fits good, I will order it off the website. The prices seem to be the same I will just pay a little shipping. I think I might get the pink breast cancer one, my mom survived breast cancer.

I will jump and hop around a lot to make sure the girls are secure then I will report back. -salutes!-

Oh, and by the way, I absolutley -hate- running. I always wanted to and was somehow fascinated with the people who were able to do it but I just have no stamina. Usually I try to much then give up. I am trying not to do too much. To make sure I do something, I am walking at a slower pace and breaking it up. I read you can do an hour's worth at 15 minute intervals. As long as you are doing something. Even though I walked at a slower pace, I raised the incline a good bit and it worked my legs more. I still haven't decided to start this soon yet because of the aforemention reason of giving up but I will keep up with this thread and continue walking on the treadmill and try to mentally get ready.

Thanks!! I look forward to hearing how it goes! I have read all the reviews and found stores here that sell them. It is expensive but if it really works then it is well worth it!

Me too! I always see people running and think they must be made of much tougher stuff than I am. I am determined this time though! I found a 5k to join in May but I am very concerned about being ready in time, I know I have five months but I really have never ever been a runner. I guess everyone had to start somewhere though, right? How soon after the programme have others run in a 5k?

Re: New Couch To 5 K Program

Good evening! Today I compeleted W2D2. It was very cold outstide (in the 20's) and I searched for multiple reasons why I didn't need to go, but then I realized that an excuse today would lead to another excuse tomorrow and so on. I bundled up and headed out.

I have to say, my knees are feeling it a bit now and while I was running I could feel it in my quads. My body is a little shocked that I am making it move!

Pan - My 5K is at the end of April. (actually, I think it's 5 miles). I am not going to beat myself up if I don't run the whole thing. I figure, it's better than sitting at home on the couch!

Re: New Couch To 5 K Program

I tried on the bra, it is a very VERY nice bra. I jumped around. It is the best coverage I have ever had with a bra. My hands got tired hooking it up, mainly because the first time I put it on I put it on inside out. I had the smallest amount of movement at the top but I am an F cup too. I am definitely going to get it. It was very snug but amazingly comfortable to me. when I was jumping, I actually noticed for the first time that that little mid belly, above waist muffin was bouncing. I was like "damn!" but I never felt it before because I was always worried about/holding my boobs.

Pan, I definitely think you can do it in five months, even if you have to do some weeks over a few times.

Re: New Couch To 5 K Program

I'm going to try! It's very scary to sign up for a run. Especially because I'm signing up now (when I know I couldn't do a 5k) in hopes that I will be able to by the time it comes around!! Part of me says "Yeah! You can do it!" and the other part says "What, are you crazy!?"!

Also, I'm going to go buy that bra!

I haven't checked in on this post for awhile just because of lack of time but I am still doing my runs 3x a week. I am on week 3 run 1 tomorrow. I am taking my time moving up the weeks and making sure I am feeling secure before increasing. I don't have any local run to sign up for as they don't schedule them during the winter as far as I know but I know once spring kicks in I will behearing of them. My goal is to sign up for one in May I think ........ It sounds like you all are excited and ready to learn how to do this right! me too! I don't have the boob issue but the funny thing is even little boobs bounce, and hurt. I wear a sports bra a size too small and that works for me, but we're talking a B cup here ....... I know I know don't laugh.

                  Happy Running Everyone!

I think I will try the bra as well. Especially when I move further into the weeks and start doing more running than walking.

Question - I did W2D2 yesterday. My knees are really sore today. Does anyone else have this problem?

I'm starting Atkin's again...(this is my second time around) but I'm going full force. Today is day #2 for me on induction and yesterday started my C25K program. I managed to get in 5 rounds of running for WK! Day1 and ran at 4.1 mph! I started and ended with a 5 min walk. I can't believe I did a total of 1.30 miles on the treadmill. I guess you CAN surprise yourself sometimes.

Yes, my knees did get sore. Are they just a bit uncomfortable? Or do you think it is something more serious? If my run takes me over a lot of hills, I definitely feel it in the knees. Sometimes even running downhill is stressful on the knees.
