    Geez, I'm more than half way done and I thought they'd get easier! Did some plank position today during a yoga sequence....talk about trembling....I seem to be "weaker" this morning, perhaps I'm just tired. (sorry 'bout the whining)

      Thanks, everyone. I had done the 100 pushups challenge a couple months ago, and apparently the strength was still there under my padding. I am so psyched because my arms are so much smaller than they were even a month ago. These challenges are awesome!!

        Well I am in awe Goomana - I have been doing this a while and my strength is coming up very slow. I think stair pushups is when you push up from stairs so you have less gravity to work against. I started out with angled push-ups.
        Today I did some straightlegged walk down pushups (start standing walk on your hands to a push up position keeping legs straight and then do a pushup then walk back)

              Goomama- liv is right. I can't yet do men's pushups and knee push ups aren't enough of a challenge and don't help me advance so stair push ups are just angled pushups done agains the stairwell. It's nice because to progress to a tougher angle you just go down a step. I also use yoga blocks for my hands because the marble steps are hard on my hands and wrist. I started at about 45 degree angle and now am close to 30 degrees (It would be 30 but the blocks raise you up a bit more). Eventually I will get to those darn horizontal ones, but for now the angled ones are enough of a challenge!

                    Jill, what about using pot holders between your hands and the stairs? I'm concerned about the yoga blocks slipping when you use them. One set of stairs I use are hardwood, the others are carpeted. Do try a nice thick pot holder (or sponge?) and see how that works

                      I do stair pushups regularly because it's easier on my back and knees, or so it seems to be. They are still quite challenging and I definitely see results from 6+ weeks of these. Just stand at the bottom of a staircase, pick out a step to put your hands on, and go to it! I vary my handwidths for variety and to work extra muscles - wide, average, narrow. I put the base of my hand (bottom edge of my palm) right along/near the edge of the step and haven't had a problem with wrist pain despite having severely broken one of them years ago (which does act up from time to time, but hasn't from this pushup position for whatever reason).
