    Hi Alexa-

    OK, I tried it tonight, but the jumping jacks give me a little trouble on the knees. Overall, I think I can stick with it, although tonight it was tough. I had to go easy on the jumping, so I did something similar to keep moving without the pounding to my knees. Actually it is the left knee. And the Doc won't do surgery to repair the problems until I lose at least another 50#. He said if he does it now, it won't do any good, and he will just make some $$$, but I won't be better off. I will see if it is better next time.

      Have you considered just marching at a steady pace instead? That's just as good if you're having some knee issues, I believe. Kudos for keeping up with it despite some physical setback! Remember to listen to your body no matter what.

        Hey James, Thanks--and yes, I was only able to do a few JJ's and ouch! So I did even a little more than walking in place, did like a combination of side steps, knee lifts, sort of some of the moves from "Walk away the Pounds" to keep as close as I could to the intensity. I can not mess this knee any more than it is. When I over-exercise sometimes, I actually limp the next day from the pain.

        But I am hanging in there. Gotta get this old lady back into shape!

            Hey all!

            Mission to Lose - I think James is right, kudos to you for keeping up with this. Hopefully if you are careful with the knees you will still benefit a lot from the DVD. Marching in place, leg lifts etc sound like a good substitute to me.

              I sometimes has to sub the butt kics with knee lifts (knee lifts are gentler on my achilles tendon) Did my first Shred in a long time today. Boy oh boy .. I had forgotten how hard it is. **** Jillian

                Phew! I just finished doing level 1 for the first time. I noticed how hard it was to jump. But I will get stronger every day

                Liv, I see that you are in many challenges. Do you count all the squats, abs etc into their challenges when you do 30-day shed challenge? I know, stupid question.

                  Liv - yep, Jillian knows how to whip up a sweat quick-fast! Good for you to attempt it with achilles probs.

                  Zumbagirl - well done on the first shred! It will get easier fast because it is well structured, though I think rest days are important for this

                    Hi all!

                    I wanted to join before the challenge was closed to newbies!

                    I'm in the process of getting my hands on the DVD.

                    However, I pledge to do the DVD at least 30 times (1 per day), at whatever level I can handle (it may be only level one..eek).

                    Anyhow, I'll be sweating with you all soon!

                      Hi Alanna - welcome to the challenge! Sure you will love the DVD If you don't move up the levels that is fine as long a you are taxing yourself. Bet you get curious about them tho

                        Hey Zumbagirl - I missed this question yesterday. I'm not Liv, but I do count my squats from shred for my squats totals and the same for other things.
