YBB fans or haters- Is YBB dancy? My dance skills are nonexistant. Me dancing? It would look like a centipede with all left feet trying to bust a move. Is YBB beyond my capabilities?

Losing weight is hard for everybody and I'm wondering if it is harder to shed a few pounds as you get closer to your goal.
YBB has dance sections in it - even the basic program. Honestly, I find them pretty easy to follow. I do have a knack for dancing, but even my kid with two left feet follows it pretty well

Losing weight as you get closer to goal is definitely a slower process! It certainly is for me!!

Gains in inches when you're as close to goal as you are isn't necessarily a BAD thing! Cut yourself some slack! Gains in inches at this point without gains on the scale mean you're putting on beautiful, lean muscle! There comes a point when you're working out like we are that you have to acknowledge that muscle in spite of that nasty old scale.

To quote one of the most obnoxious people on the planet...

    "It's a good thing."

    LOL!!!

As far as the wicked, wicked scale goes (along with his best friend, the tape measure) a better measure for me is if all of my fat rolls are rolling less when I can finally find a pair of my jean that zip. With my inch loss, I have some places that went down, some up, and some stayed the same. I would like to say that all of the 8 inches were from my belly, butt and thighs, but that would be a lie. Therefore, the different stages of the jeans test are:

Step 1: Do they slide on further/are they easier to slide on?
Step 2: Are the button and hole closer together when I am standing up?
Step 3: Can I get them zipped/does the zipper go further than last time?
Step 4: Do I have to lay on the bed to get them zipped or can I actually stand up to get them zipped?
Step 5: Does the fat hang off of the waistband less than last time?
Step 6: Can I finally wear these in public without the big, thick sweatshirt that hangs past the butt?
Step 7: Can I wear a shorter shirt?
Step 8: Can I wear a shirt tucked in?

As of today, I am on step 5 working my way to step 8. In other words, you have been exercising and eating more sensibly, so you know that you are in better shape!!!

            That's great, turner!

I have a pair of jeans that I've been using a couple times each week to 'measure' my progress. I'm on Step #2 with them, LOL!

Turner, that is a great list! It's just so completely accurate. I'm somewhere between steps 6 and 7 on my favorite pair of jeans, and I know that Si6 has helped me move from step 4 to where I am now!

I spot measured this morning (just waist, thigh, and calves) and I'm down an inch in my waist, up at least a half inch in my thigh, and down in my calves since starting this routine. I'll take it! I had noticed that it's easier to zip up my boots.

BoxerMom - I'm totally uncoordinated and not a dancer at all, and I found YBB surprisingly fun and easy to follow. I'm not saying I got all of the steps the first time through, not even close, but it's mostly about keeping your body moving to a fun beat.

Need to let my snack settle and then I'm going to go RIU. I was running errands this morning and couldn't get to it.

RIU, Si6p, and SiL done for today (I'm still subbing SiL for the yoga, and I think I'm going to alternate days between the abs portion of RIU and Si6p. I actually find some of the ab work in RIU (all the stuff with your legs in the air) harder than S16p.

I'm all for choosing the next challenge. This has been great for me. I don't own a treadmill, though.

I would be up for that...I just need to figure out the incline on my machine. I 'googled' my machine and couldn't find a darned thing on it! So, I'll have to find the math (length of tread and inches off the floor) and figure it out myself!

Sheshy, Wanna, 2Big- I'm up for a treadmill challenge.

We might have to do a couple of challenges at the same time so that we don't lose our si6's if they don't have the right video or exercise equipment.

This afternoon I tried a new video. It was Tamilee Webb's "I want that Body" and it has three 15 minute sections for abs, buttocks and arms. I really liked the arm section and she encourages heavier weights to build muscle which burns more calories. I didn't make it too far into the buttocks because my body can only handle so many squats in one day but it will be a nice and painful alternative to Debbie. It might be something you ladies would like to add to your collection.

Sorry, no treadmill here. I travel to the gym three times a week to workout with the one they have.

I do have a large library of videos and have even though of doing round 2 of Slim in 6.
