Re: The Goalie's Challenge Exercise Thread

Hey Guys! Good to see everyone is keeping up!

I'm on the road again, down in the DC area, but I got a workout in at the hotel last night. I ran for 30 minutes and then did my crunches. My leg is sore for some reason though...

good job everybody. DId my llower body BFL today and cardio treadmilling afterwards

Oh you know how they say you can't over work your abs? well the top right can of my six pack says yes you can! It cramped when i was reching down for something out with Mother and man talk about pain. I could actually feel the knot in the muscle and I was like how the heck do you stretch that thing out. I'm hoping the rest of my abs don't join it tonight. I've drunk and supplemennted and will just see what the middle of the night holds

            lol

thanks for that, 2big! i needed a giggle.

i got at dvd a long time ago from barbiebabe. a yoga and pilates workout, but i had no band. the new ball and band workout i bought of course has the band so i did 45 minutes of that dvd tonight. i am very proud of us!

higgies, i hope you are feeling better by the time you read this.

sadiejen, anything to report here? we all have about 10 places to log in these days! that should be counted as a workout all by itself!

Yay everyone! Seems we're all hanging in there just fine! Hope your various aches and pains sort themselves out, 2big and Higgies.

Got my full workout and walk done this morning in the wee hours. Just the usual, but then I'm such a creature of habit!

                Thanks

So Jimmie how is the ball workouts going? on and those bands you got with it remember to check them for tears before you workout. there are still a few ADBBer here who remember my nasty black eye when I snapped one back in 03.

well the thiggs started to cramp up too as I got ready for bed so I popped some potassium and calcium and that wasn't something that bothered me at all last night. Now if I could just pop somthing for Mother's night time prowling. You haven't been truely startled awake until you here the popping and crinkling of a very stretched shrinkwrap band on Breyers icecream go off at 3 something in the moring.

I'm here! I have been slacking with my posting but not with my exercise

I've been doing my weights and pilates all week, alternating, weights monday, pilates tues etc...boy do I hurt! Haven't been doing as much balance ball as I'd like to...

Next week I hope to start running regularily again. I really think I need to run, I just hate it, But it really does make me feel better all around..it's the actual runnning itself that's the agony LOL.

oh 2big...and mom didn't even invite us over to share! those plastic bands on that ice cream can be tough at times!

i really hadn't thought about looking for tears on the band. thanks for that. it is new so i guess i was pretty much safe from disaster. ouch on you! that would have hurt big time!

sadiejen, i have been reading here and there and i see you have been busy with things other than posting. that is good but i missed you. no running for me. the aerobics crazy i was in back in the 80's did my knees a job. i really have to watch things now. i would rather go a little easier than think i woulld have to have knee replacement. i won't be able to afford that so i have to treat the knees a little nicer now.

                    ---------
i did a workout agian! very good on me! i did 50 crunches then biked for 11 minutes and then hit the old ball and band program for 40 minutes.

i am just so proud of us. my weight is still between 121 and 124 every day but i swear my 4's are getting looser. that is blowing my mind!

Yes Jimmie I've been swamped from work and haven't had alot of play time on the boards.

I actually stopped running mostly in october after tripping over a 2" deep cut in the asphalt that wasn't marked and falling hard, and hurting my knee. I did heal pretty quick but i guess it' kind of made me nervous. I have to get over it. My joints are fine for running so I should run while I still can!

sadie just inagine that 146 pounder chasing you and you should be running well forgetting all about your fear of tripping again.

I love the gym. After the cramping the other day they have now clarified the overworking the abs to say when it burns stop, rest and then do more untikl it burns. don't push through the burn to failure like we do lifting weights. don't you love guys who forget to tell you the right instructions.

Goodness! Isn't Sunday supposed to be a day of rest??? After a really late saturday night (or Sun morning, rather)... I decided to skip my workout and go for the longer walk, like last week. But got up after three hours sleep feeling soooo full of energy... and cleaned the whole house! Wonder if that counts as the workout? Then took the doggies out for over an hour. Boy was I ready for breakfast after all that!

Anyone else having a nice restful Sunday? *chuckles*

Oh... and yes, I did my routine yesterday too.
