  • Re: The Goalie's Challenge Exercise Thread

I think an exercise ball is one of the best pieces of equipment you can invest in (and they're pretty cheap)..they're so versatile and a great workout. the only downfall is their size...mine always seems to be in the way. though you can deflate them every once in a while and get a work out with the pump reinflating!

I"m back from montreal and from my nightmare flight. ended up awake for 22 hours due to weather/flight delays.

I ran in the morning wed before I left. No exercise Thurs in montreal..though i did go out and do some walking up and down sainte catherine's street lookin at all the clothes i can't afford! Didn't run Friday..was far too tired. Ran again yesterday and today. It's been well below zero so my runs have been short..but i'm still keeping htem up.

My problem now is getting caught up with the situps challenge. I"m gonna be doing alot of situps this week!

Yes Sadie... you're probably right and I'll definitely consider investing in one soon! (ball).

From that pic, exercise with the ball looks cool 2big. Btw... you on the mend? Hope so!

Did an extra five mins on walk today and the usual full body workout, with 100 situps for the situps challenge.

          good morning (for me, sal!)
i took yesterday off too, exercise and board. didn't even log food in stats. i have to tell you, i think i have been working out so much that i have put a couple of pounds on. yeay, the 4's fit and no, i haven't measured. [where is that tape anywsy?]

i have been sleeping like awfulness. 3 hours at a time is about the limit. i swear so badly at night that i have to sleep with the a/c on. this leads to showering first thing so i went ahead and got 55 crunches in.
          --------------
sal, you asked about the push ups on the ball and 2 big even provided a pic! i was able to do mine with the ball at my shins. i was doing "girlie" push ups, you know, on you knees, arms to the floor, but the ball is much harder! the whole program cost me $14.88 at sams. i don't know what it would cost over your way but $15 ain't much. i got the band, a band, a book describing all the exercises and the dvd.
          ----------------
i ain't liking these extra couple of pounds. i've been good and i ain't liking it!

I' was looking for the ball exercise chart I posted last yr but can't find it you can do all kinds of things with it from crunches to stretchs like the one Jimmie was doing in her ball pic.

My temp was 103 this morning so I'm a slug today my doc said when the temp goes down on its own I can work out again as with the temp I will not be cooling properly and gave me a long list of bad things that could happen. I think he was trying to scare me into being a good patient

Well... you're all convincing me... must really get one of those ball exercisers! And not even expensive. What more could one ask for?

Sorry about your extra pounds jimmie; that's a real bummer when you've been exercising so hard...but just think how much better all that extra muscle looks, than fat!

2big... with a temp of 103 you need to rest up! You're doc's right... working out would be really bad! How about a few nice maintenance treats like hot toddies with whiskey, lemon and splenda? Hope you feel better soon. Pamper yourself!

Did my stuff today, but shaved ten mins off the dog walk as it was raining so hard I even got soaked with wellies and brolly! Dogs thoroughly enjoyed getting muddy though.

oh justright, i let jimmieboy do the running of the victory laps. lol i did however jump around the living room a bit. i hope it's a trend that will continue.

i did 80 crunches tonight. actually 25 situps and the rest were crunches. also did the arm work again and some leg lifts.

i got some menopause issues going on. i am hating every minute of this. i think my body is not so keen on soy milk. my insides have been torn up all day. i must must must do some kind of a search tomorrow to see the effects of soy. a girl at church told me to get some down me and it would help with the hot flashes. not so far. i am thinking i need that rung 5 for sleeping!

last post of the night..........i think. see ya tomorrow, girls.

justright, i hope you get better soon.

Jimmie jo soy has proteins in it that many folk are allegic to it is the number 3 allegen in the nation right now so be carful with it. soak a bandaide in it and were it for 3 days if your skin gets red itchy take it off and know you are allergic if not then you got some intolerance of the digetion going on and might do better with the soy pills. it is the plant phtoestrogens that help with menepause symptoms.

justright, is there anything you don't know?

i don't think it was an alergic reaction. no i know it wasn't. i didn't break out in hives or anything. my stomach just got weirded out and really not right away. how can i say this without being gross? ummmmmm............ waste changed. frequency, color. it's like the soy was cleaning me out so to speak. that's all i am saying on that. i will drink another cup of it this morning and see if i have the same reaction. if so, it gets dumped down the drain. i have other things going on too. seems like that last week has just made my body go haywire.

I understand that one well could be intorlerance or ot could be allergic actually. that two can be an allergic reaction cause tummy juices have histamines in them too but not the kind you get hives from. there are many allergic reactions that our body can have and if we only know one reaction is allergic then we miss the others and keep exposing ourselves.
i did some slow walking today on the treadmill and now have the sneaky puking where you fewll sickbut thinkyou will not and suddenly without warning it is a coming. glad the garbnage can was wmpty and plastic . i thinnk i will be a slug till I'm way better.

did 50 reps with my 6.6 weights and then 15 reps with 11 pounds....owwwww
also did 50 leg lifts each leg. that isn't the proper term but trust me, my butt muscles ache when i get done with them.
