Good job making it happen Jimmie. I didn't want to...and didn't! Well, I did my work squat/pop/lunge thing. I am helping gpa build a swingset for the boys this weekend, so don't know how organized exercise will go I'll be in touch.

Heya Sally. Crazy summer, huh? I feel for you. Just remember that only you can take care of you

    Hugs

Thanks guys. Elder care is great I have also since we returned been told to call the alhemier chapter in the area and get respite care. when alzheimer folk get scared cause they are basically lost all the time and thing they will not be found and never get home they act up and when my Mother does she can be be very mean and she was so I don't balme the lady one bit for quitting.
I will just use a different tactic next time.

My treadmill missed me and let me know this morning as it groaned to life again. back tot he gym tomorrow and Mother's new pool is open so yiiiippppppeeeeeeeeeee I can play on the machines and she can swim with her careperson. they are a couple of fish in there from what I was before we left.

even the treadmill groaned getting back in the groove!

i biked, did my ball pushups, some crunches, some dumbell work for my arms and some leg lifts. i use the weights to warm up the arms before doing the push ups. it helps.

i'll never do 1000 miles on the bike by years end. that was quite a high number to shoot for i guess.

No official exercise this weekend. But, I worked my BUTT off this weekend, building (ok, helping build) a swingset for my boys. Most pyhsical work I've ever done. Eating was crazy, and I muched a LOT of handfuls of nuts because I would get hungry and nobody else would want to stop, y'know?

And now! I'm up FOUR lbs! What the crap??? Yes, I ate a lot when we would stop for meals too, because I was legitimately hungry. I certainly hope it disappears as quick as it appeared.

ODDLY, my can't quite wear shorts fit better than they ever have this a.m. though?

            Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Sally, LOVE your new siggie pic!

Jimmie, you are doing AWESOME. Your disgust for exercise comes shining through...but you're doing it anyway and I applaud you. I hope it gets nicer for you soon

2big good to see you. How's the swimming going for mama? What a win-win situation!

            Hi to the rest!

              Thanks for the comp Denise!
Re your four pound increase... could be partly the actual weight of the extra food, partly muscle weight after your herculean weekend, or stress weight after such a busy time. I wouldn't worry too much... the true test is the fit of your shorts. When I reached maintenance and stopped losing, I still went down a size.

Had a dire time with exercise and dog walk today. Got a nasty bout of sciatica... this afternoon am hobbling. In the past that's always been linked to my back (two slipped discs), but this time I just have the sciatica worse than usual with no back pain. Go figure! Am hoping to be able to do something tomorrow, but won't push it. Maybe upper body workout.

woo hoo sally love your new pic.

if it was hot while you were working harder then you have you are going to be retaining fluids from the new to your muscle load you gave them and from the heat factor work out. then if your nuts were salted you got the excess sodium. since you are smaller you know you didn't pack on fat weight, so enjoy it the inches not the pounds.

I did my HIIT today and finally after our trip understand the saying yes but it is a dry heat. our humidity has been in the 90s every day and even though the temp dropped to the 80s here it stills feels hotter then it did out in CA in there very dry hot air.
Mother loves the pool and so far everything is a big green light.

Pics from this weekend That's the only way I know how to attach them, sorry. And there's none of the finished product, I figured we'd have lots of those in the weeks to come. But there's a big A-frame that holds 3 swings and a yellow wave slide down the front.

OK, going to do my cardio tonight. Did my lunge/squat/pops at work. Ate like CRAZY today. Mostly legal.

Thanks for all your thoughts, and support, getting me in line on this maintenance journey.

looks like everybody is doing pretty good in here, except i am missing sadiejen. i knew she was going off to the cabin but i was thinking that was last week? i dunno.... too many to keep up with.

sal! look at you all dressed up in your new pic! how skinniy is that waist of yours? looking good, my friend!

ms. you just keep on going. what can i say, you just keep on. i'm with sal on the pounds. as long as the clothes fit, you're good to go. i wish more folks would guage their goal by size and not weight. it might not be so stressful.

2big, it's really good to see you back in action.

i have been keeping up even if i don't post in here every day. i try but sometimes i just don't want to be online anymore. tomorrow is a biking day. i'm gonna try to get in quite a few tomorrow. i may do it in segments. we'll see.
off to see the monday pres challenge update thread!

Liked the pics of your weekend project Denise... looked lots of fun, though I bet it certainly was hard work!

Managed to do both dog walk and exercise today...going gingerly. Sciatica a bit better. Fingers crossed.

Well i'm back..yup jimmie was up at the cottage for the week. spent the first 5 days w/o hydro due to tornados, it was pretty brutal, no fridge, not stove but what's worse was no running water! it's run by an elec. pump. I shouldn't complain alot of people lost their homes and cottages, we just lost one tree. I certainly learned you can cook pretty much anything on a bbq though .

Anyhow..didn't exercise at all last week aside from hauling water up from the lake for dishes, and carrying bags of ice around. So i'm trying to get back in teh swing of things this week...had my first run today, 2 miles, and did my pilates. Hoping to head back to the gym tomorrow.

good to see the update, sadiejen. i know you get to mogs comfy cottage but most times i just don't have the time to chat back and forth. i'm glad that you got to post here.

sorry for the cabin mess but happy to hear that the cottage was in good shape. no running water is the worst! i would have been a pitiful pioneer woman. lol

i have noticed your siggy stating you are struggling to stay at goal. what a battle you have had with that. are you now at 146?

as far as my day went, i didn't get anything 'formal' done. cleaned house, did laundry, daily chores and then had our meeting tonight about church. biking will have to be tomorrow. i think i need to bike all day if i'm gonna make that goal!

Nice to see you back Sadie! Sounds like you had something of a survival course up at your cottage! Hope it didn't totally ruin your time there.
Isn't it strange how at first, when forced to do without ameneties, things seem impossible, but once we get organised and into the swing of 'coping', it's amazing how much we can actually do without all our usual comforts. Lugging water sounds like good exercise! I can picture you with an earthenware amphora on your head!!!

Back on track fully, today...sciatica only lingering now.

Oh Jimmie... you mentioned my waist in that pic... here's the story: Found this old dress in the bottom of a chest and decided to try it on again and, if it fit, take a pic (because I rarely wear dresses!). Hadn't been able to get into this one for years. When I put it on, guess what? It was far too big! Oh boy was I pleased! But... there's a clothes peg pinching a large tuck out of it, behind my back! Couldn't ever wear it out... unless I fall off the wagon that is!
Now I reckon I deserve a new dress! Hooray for Atkins!

No Jimmie not back up at 146 thankfully (maybe i should reword that LOL)! But last time i checked I was up around 130..which is 10 lbs above goal I've been going up and down anywhere from 7-10 lbs for almost a year now. I've tried everything, induction, south beach, upping my exercise, etc. I just can't figure it out. I'm trying to take some food groups out, but since i'd already done owl I don't think that's my problem. I'm not counting calories again..and keeping my carbs around 30g's. though with my running i shouldn't need too. Last week I let my carbs get fairly high, with whole grains and yogurt and fruits, hoping that maybe this will help before dropping my carbs again.

I'm basically eating what I did when i got to goal...and i'm actually running a bit more than i was then...so i'm really not sure. maybe my body just wants to be here..I don't know, i'm depressed if it is. I'm hardly skinny..and my bf% is still up around 25 - 28% (that's what my scale says...it's in line with a caliper test).

I seem to be stuck in a rut...and it's frustrating
