Tuesday, 6/9: 8 mile run early this morning before sunrise. Makes all the difference in the world to run when its cooler (well temp is cooler, humidity is ... )

        Burned 633 calories.

My 10 K is an hour and 20 minute. That is as fast as it was last year too. I had hoped that this winter I would be able to get some more speed going. Did not happen. But I can live with that.

          I did 6 today.
Whereami - glad to hear you are back. That was a long outing. Is your leg feeling fine now?

Am about to get on the treadmill but i just wanted to say that it feels better after the ice but everytime after 25 min on the machine it starts to hurt again and slows me down. So I dont know what to do except that everytime I get off the treadmill I put ice on it.

            Thanks for asking Liv.

Drink plenty of water whereami - hope you are better soon.

I read a book yesterday called The Bodywise Woman. I really liked it - especially the first few chapters. The first chapter "How Far We Come" was a history of women's activities over the last few centuries. I was shocked to read that in 1967 Katherine Switzer entered the Boston Marathon as K. Switzer. Women were not allowed to run in the event. and when officials discovered "k" running the race, they tried to bodily remove her. She slipped past them, however, and ran right into the history books!!!! But even for a while after that amateur organizations thought women were to frail for marathons and women were not allowed to participate till 1972.

Wow. I've read one of Switzer's books and I followed her "Learn to be an Hour Runner" last summer. I did not know this.

                        Imagine.

Anyways I proudly ran my 10 K today.
