6K again. It was slow today. I think I overdid yoga yesterday. But I was still enjoying it.

Re: Its time to resurrect the COOL RUNNING thread!

I finally have started running outside! I've been slacking the past week due to boredom on the treadmill, and the weather hasn't been the greatest. The sun came out today and it was a perfect day to run. I was surprised at how easy it was to make the switch back.

I've been running 3 miles on the treadmill over the winter...managed 1.5 today outdoors (concrete unfortunately though), and could have easily done 3..but I figure I don't wanna push it. Concrete tends to be hard on my knees.

Going to aim for 2 miles tomorrow.

If anyone is interested in mapping and tracking their runs..there's a great site for it www.runningahead.com they have great mileage charts. Not sure if that's been posted yet but just in case.

Ran 2 miles oustide yesterday, relatively easily.

wont be running for a couple of days however, i can barely walk now!

I forgot how different on the leg muscles running outside was...

Re: Its time to resurrect the COOL RUNNING thread!

Hi all, just found this thread Nice to see there are plenty of runners doing Atkins!

I started running about a week after I started on Atkins, originally doing 4-5km alternating walking and running (following the couch to 5km method), then a week ago I moved up to just running. Week 1 I ran 2.2km a day. Today was the first day of week 2 and I did 2.5km. I plan on upping it by 10% a week (or longer if I'm not comfortable with the distance). I felt a little drained by the end today but I was ready for more by the time I got home!

I wanted to start distance running since late last year but it wasn't until I started atkins that I had the motivation and energy to do it. My "mentor" doesn't believe in low carb but she is definitely rethinking her opinion after seeing how easily I picked it up!
