    whereami, so sorry about the pain .. have you tried ice instead of heat? Ice is great for inflammation of all kinds. In fact, using the RICE method (rest, ice, compression, elevation) will cure most everything! Also, contrary to popular belief, stretching is not what its cracked up to be. In fact, never ever stretch cold muscles. If you feel the need to stretch, then stretch lightly after 1/2 mile jog or so .. giving your muscles time to warm up. Personally I never stretch, but that's just me. I see runners stretching before races all the time and think to myself "good luck with *that!"

    The best advice is to stop running until the pain is gone. Pain is the only way our bodies have to tell us "hey you, you're overdoing it, so knock it off already!"

    Hope you feel better soon!

    No run for me today, as its my normal rest day.

      Thanks for the great advice! The thing is after im done exercising and resting the pain is mostly gone. Its only during the run that it develops and gets worse. When Im done it fades and I dont feel it anymore. Is that weird or what?

      When you say compression you mean just pressing down on the place that hurts or whaat? and how long should I keep the ice pack on it?

        Yes get your ice and your rest.

        Compression usually means to wrap the sore area tightly (but not too tight) with an elastic bandage


        Running require some care and some slow build up. Be patient.

        I do not stretch before running either. I warm up by running somewhat slow the first little bit and that is it. I do like to stretch after though.

        I did my 10 K today. It was nice.

            thanks sooo much it really worked the icee I swear but i couldnt really wrap it cuz its a hard place to wrap. Anyways i rested 2 days n then i ran/walked today june 2nd 8.12 kilos and this time its only my upper thigh that knotted up. Immediately when i got off the machine i put ice on it - hopefully it will be okay by tomorrow...thanks again

            by the way i havent lost any weight since may 19th lol ive been hoping i would lose with the extra exercisee but no luck. Im waiting till i hit the one month mark before i seriously complain...inches wise im not sure sometimes it seems like ive lost an inch or two here and there but other times i think its just how tight im holding the measuring tape. anyways just had to get it off my chest. lol.

                    Thursday, 6/4: 5.2 mile run DONE. Burned 433 calories. 21.5 miles run in the past 3 days. Tomorrow is a well earned rest day for my foot ! Right now, it ain't speakin' to me....

                            Thanks, sweetie!

                            As for me, today was my long run on the trail. I ran 14 MILES !! ME!!! Burned 1,251 calories and sweat off a TON ! 35.5 miles this week, 3,111 calories burned in 4 days of running.

                              It was warm where you are Betty. Here is was cold. I wore my gloves this morning when I did my 10 K.
                              But I had fun nevertheless
