Thanks for bumping this - I'm due for my evening regimen. EEEK - I've got to get some more of a few things: Out of 5-HTP, fish oil & valerian...
I'm on the required break from thyrotabs, but have decided definately want more of them, too.

Does anyone know whether vitamin A "from fish liver oil" also has vitamin D in it, though not shown on the label, and whether it is safe over the 1-2x RDA level???? (I got a TON of it in my lase eBay variety box.

I'm not sure. I know that fish is one of the few food sources that is rich in vitamin D; however, vitamin D is one of many nutrients that is NOT required to be on the nutritional label...so it *could* be there. Does your supplement have a website that you can visit to gather more information or a toll-free phone number?

I just looked up cod liver oil, and one tablespoon has 1360 IU of vitamin D. WOW! But then, you have to taste it....I wonder if the supplement is just regular cod liver oil in a gelatin capsule??

I couldn't remember the exact values, so I looked them up at the NIH website. The RDA level for vitamin A is 700 mcg (which is 2310 IU) for women. According to the NIH, the tolerable upper intake level is 3000 mcg (or 10,000 IU). For Vitamin D, the NIH has the tolerable upper limit at 50 mcg (or 2000 IU) for women a day. The next paragraph was interesting about the upper limit for vit. D...

"Several nutrition scientists recently challenged these ULs, first published in 1997 [76]. They point to newer clinical trials conducted in healthy adults and conclude that the data support a UL as high as 10,000 IU/day. Although vitamin D supplements above recommended levels given in clinical trials have not shown harm, most trials were not adequately designed to assess harm [6]."

That doesn't mean you can consume more than 2000 IUs of Vitamin D, but it will be interesting to read what new developments they discover about how much one can take without harm.

              Good luck with your supplements!

Something new from awhile ago eBay variety package:
Creatine Powder (separate from ) + Glutamine powder. It seems from the little I've read that these might be useful for Atkiners doing heavy exercise, however, both seem to be labeled for high carbers.

I'm trying them now anyway, since the backpacking trip was heavy. Just the Creatine from get-go, then creatine and glutamine, upon return and being very sore, and perhaps they could help.

Has anyone else tried these - if so, any tips on their use, or comments on results?

                        Day 10/84

I'm gonna have a tough time getting to a computer, mine got infected with a trojan and some viruses. I'm using a computer at the Senior Adult Center. I've been busy and it's touch 'n go with my cousin who might be able to fix it so I won't have to pay a lot of money to get it removed.
                        THANK YOU

Prince of Peace, I believe! For me, it works better than the synthetics and powder capsules. And it works fast! I bought it at the Chinese Cultural Center here in Phoenix Arizona for 8-9 dollars.
