Happy Thanksgiving to all the folks in the USA! Have a wonderful day with family and friends! Ladies, don't spend all day in the kitchen, delegate, and maybe the guys can do the dishes?

    Best wishes to all,

    Suzanne

morning suzanne - I have a sign in my kitchen..."I love a man with dishpan hands" He's always done the dishes, and I'll make him plenty today.

I'm just doing the cooking today and the meal will be tomorrow. Making as much as I can at home before we head off to the cottage. The Green Bay Packers play today, so I'm sure we won't leave until the game is over - that gives me plenty of time.

I'm starting with the Pumpkin Bake, then will work on the vegetables - fun day in the kitchen.

Have a great day at work.

Good morning all So, work today till 3:15. This morning I used the treadmill, and watched a DVD! I'm so pleased that I moved the treadmill yesterday. My husband saw it, but didn't say anything. I was deathly tired of looking at a wall! So, now I can really get moving

tonight is Hanging of the Green, here in town. Everyone turns on their outside Christmas lights, and folks get together downtown (we have a population of 1000) to stroll the shops, visit with family and friends, and enjoy the parade and outdoor concert. Of course Santa will be here for the wee folks If it doesn't rain, there will be so many folks who drive in from other towns, it will be shoulder to shoulder people, it's great! I think it's the first Christmas parade for the season.

tomorrow, we are driving down to our youngest daughter's "new" farm to deliver a spare bed, and to help her and her fiancé move some furniture and other "stuff" out of the house they are moving into. It's in his family, so there are a few keepsakes to deliver to other family members, which will give them more room for their own stuff, which will move in next weekend. Sound confusing? well, we'll see I'm excited for them both, even if they have some fixing up to do, that's ok. (My DH would like everything perfect for them, but it's a 100 year old farm house, so it needs wiring, insulation, plumbing and likely new windows later on. One room at a time, eh?)

Anyway, gotta go make lunches for work, have a great day everyone

Welcome Stubbytails Yes it is nice to see folks "our age" here in a group! Some days I feel a lot older than 56 though, lol! We're helping our daughter do some work in their new abode. New to them, but the farm house (& farm) have been in her fiancé's family since it was built around 1904. They are moving there next weekend but we are taking a spare bed down today (3 hour drive), and will do what we can to help clean/renovate/organize. If the weather holds, we'll go down next weekend as well. I'm so excited for them. Although Andrew will help his dad out by doing chores in the barn before going to work. I don't think Jessica will be doing anything in the barn but she'll have enough to do. Well, I have to walk the dog and get organized, so I'd better get a move on. Again, welcome, and have a great day everyone

Wow -- it's been awhile since I've had time to stop here and say hi! It's been hectic here the entire week ... the hubs had another sleep study the beginning of the week that lasted 24 hours so I was out twice in 2 days driving in the dark....not good for someone who's night blind!!

Thanksgiving was wonderful -- I had turkey, mashed turnips, salad & green beans with pumpkin desert & whipped cream for desert....didn't miss anything because it's everything I would have had every other year (except the creamed mashed turnips which I love anyway.

We have the entire house decorated inside and out for Christmas....sheesh, it's taken the better part of 2 days to get it done. BUT, it's done and we didn't have bad weather while we were out. The hubs has been on vacation since Monday and has this coming Monday off also. Sadie is going to the doggie spa Monday morning for pre-holiday pampering! While she's there the hubs and I are going to have our hair cut and have lunch together.

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving.

Wow, what a day! Got the bed down to our daughter's and put it together for them, complete with the canopy I love their house, even if it is old! The young women were busy painting cupboards in the kitchen, and the young men were outside working on an old foundation where a house trailer had been resting. They were using sledge hammers and a tractor but had to stop when they broke a water line...oops. The "mothers" were busy cleaning out closets and cupboards in the side entranceway and the laundry room, as well as cleaning out the freezer, and reorganizing things in the laundry room. My DH was busy mowing/mulching the yard, as no one had been able to do that for quite some time. Fortunately, the John Deere lawn tractor had gas in it, so he was very happy doing that. (He had kind of taken over Jessi's paint roller so I made the "mowing" suggestion to Jess). I was also outside for a while, trimming down some dead perennials and picking up the branches that had fallen and gotten covered by leaves. We ate both lunch and supper at the main farm, with 14 of us around the table. It was a lovely day, with lots of help and lots of laughter. We'll be doing it again next weekend if the weather holds, cause that will be their move-in weekend. Tomorrow, it's back to work and it looks like we'll be getting rain/wet snow all week, blech! I'm hoping to take some outside Christmas lights down to Jessi and Andrew's and put them up for them next weekend. Again, if the weather is good. Well, guess I should make some supper, have a great evening everyone

I made it through Thanksgiving without much damage and I just signed up for the December Goals challenge to help keep me on track for 'the month of goodies galore'!

I'm just in the 'thinking about it' decorating process. My livingroom has recently gone through a change of furniture and layout so I can't even decide where to put the tree! I'm actually thinking of putting up 2 trees this year which is something I've never done before. But I'm having trouble getting started because it just doesn't seem like Christmas yet. For one thing, we don't have any snow, which to me, is essential.

And another thing I have to think about is our 19 month old granddaughter. I haven't had to worry about having a little one around for 20 years so I have to be careful what I put where, but I will get in the mood soon, I'm sure. Maybe some Christmas music will help.

Have a great day on Atkins. I'm still eating turkey salad, yum.

I don't often feel my age [50], but this weekend it showed. Cooking and cleaning for the holiday - then standing around a bonfire for hours and sleeping in a 'cottage bed' for two nights [very cold] - my body ached for two days. Certainly motivates me to focus - so I can get more of this weight off!

                              Happy Monday all.

Suzanne it sounds like your daughter is a very lucky young lady to have parents who help out so much!!

Nyna, you'll figure out where to put the trees!! It takes some time but once you get started everything will fall into place.

If I waited for snow I might be putting the tree up in January...LOL!!! We don't get much snow here and when we do it normally doesn't last long.

Barrnone I know what you mean about achey bones from the cold....we were out several hours putting the decorations up in the cold - when we came in every part of me hurt!

Had a good day today -- on track with eating, water, exercise, supplements and took my pills on time today. Even spent a little time alone today - something I rarely get to do. It felt good.

                                Have a great week.
