Re: Any 50 year old members out there?? Come on in and say hi
Well, good afternoon everyone! It's been a bit since I posted, been busy traveling the countryside
We were away Friday looking at places for our son to live in Waterloo (Ont.) when he goes back to school in the Fall. Found a really nice place, all inclusive, 10 min. bus ride from the university, so that's taken care of, yay!
We ate out at Swiss Chalet, ordering salads to go with our half chicken dinners, no roll thanks
and drank water. So we felt pretty good about that.
Saturday we were away to our youngest daughter's fiancé's parents' farm!!!! (Did ya follow that, whew!?) Anyway, it was sort of a "family" dinner, so I took Linda's Spinach lasagna, cause I knew Phyllis (fiancé's mother) was making her own lasagna, and, that most wonderful pizza recipe with the cheese crust, cut into small pieces for snackies. I took both recipes with me, so I could leave them with Phyllis, and ended up bringing home one serving of Spinach lasagna! I didn't eat as well as I could have, trying a small 2"square of Phyllis's lasagna, and eating dessert, plus a wine cooler.
So, today we're right back to normal eating, watching the carbs and keeping it simple. In fact my stomach was a little upset much of today, possibly from the sugar and chocolate in the desserts. I certainly don't miss it, tho'. I think I had some, more to appease the hostess, than from any desire of my own. If I'd had time, I would have taken my own dessert, but it took us 2.5 hours to get there, so I was glad enough to get made what I did take.
I'm definitely not going to beat myself up over eating the dessert, because it's the first time I've "cheated" knowingly since I first began this WOE, so I'm actually proud of myself. And by the way, Carole, thanks for telling me about the rhutaga, I didn't realize that!
Anyway, today is gardening day
, then back to work tomorrow. We're having stuffed peppers for supper, that I'd frozen, so we'll see how they are, partially defrosted, then baked for 30 min.
Hope everyone had a great weekend, thanks for listening to me!
Suzanne
