Since I lost weight, I don't always feel like I'm in the 50 plus group (LOL!!!), even though 60 is closer than 50 was.

I was reading through the threads about blueberries. I actually raked blueberries when I was a kid. Had a family member who owned a big blueberry operation and used to hire all the kids. That summer I made money, but I was too exhaused to care! Anyway, fast forward to three weeks ago. I went picking blueberries again (please note ... about 45 years later!). Anyway, thinking I was in good shape, I picked for several hours. Thought I'd have to be hauled off the field in a tractor! Every muscle and joint that isn't artificial hurt. I might think young and pretend I'm young, but at least I have a chance to get ready for apple picking season!

Best wishes to all of you!

When you are alone in your head, you are in a bad neighborhood.

Well for me, I've had some "family" matters to attend to. ..my sister came down for her late 40 something birthday and we had a nice little "party" time with her and her family, we're trying to prepare a 16 year old for a move to Georgia in the spring and boy is she upset about moving to a different school for her senior year (she's understandably afraid, mad, frustrated, etc) but life's work, it ain't all peaches and roses, and to be honest, I fell off of the diet for about six days (milk, even though it was one percent, and I had some Ravioli from Olive Garden (darnit, that's a weak spot for me), and my neice (15) brought me a bag of Coconut M and M's. She's so sweet, but darn, I had to taste 'em at least. BTW. I don't think I put on any weight. . the pants still fit like they did (I hadn't worn these pants for years until about three weeks ago, so I am losing). I just didn't want to lose that momentum.

So I'm refocused as of Labor Day. I feel like crap (surprising how carbs can make you feel like that) and I'm back to my eggs, meat, cheese, decaf coffee with heavy cream, and induction diet rules.

          Gotta feel good again.

            hey daddy --

glad your back and on track. Just wondderng - how were the coconut M&M's - I looked at them yesterday when I was standing in line at the grocery store but was strong and put them back (yesterday I could have fallen very easy).

When you're eating don't forget your veggies -- 2 cups salad veggies & 1 cup "other" veggie list....they are more important (in my mind) than the protein and I know I feel rotten when I don't eat enough of them. Also, don't forget your water.

If you need a helping hand, a shoulder or just someone to b*tch at let me know!! LOL

Hi Carole, just thought I'd drop in and say hi, before going to bed. I've been very lax at posting this summer. Our son has done very well, still losing too. He's down almost 30 pounds since May 1st! He's feeling great and is back to school. It'll be tough for him, making his own meals, but I sent him off with foods for Owl Rung 3 and lower, so he should be good for a while. Hubby has lost about 25 lbs and is getting into clothes he couldn't wear before As for me, well, I tend to stall, then go down, then stall some more, lol. I'm glad I can say I'm still 166.2 tho'. I shall really have to get doing some exercise! Now that Ben is out of the basement, I can go down and use the equipment in the morning, no excuses!!
I just did a 30 min. yoga routine, thinking I'd go to bed afterwards, but here I am It feels good to be back and in touch again. So, sleep well everyone, and thanks for being here

Congrats to your son Fancy!!! That's great he's been able to loose to much. I'm sure he'll do fine at school, it will take a little tweaking but he'll figure out what he needs to do pretty quick.

I spent the weekend in carb h*ll --- was so glad when this morning came and the world seemed to make sense again. Back to induction for a few days to get back into keotsis......

                Good luck to everyone.

I'm back and I am settled now. I am in for the long haul and this time I will go the distance. I have been watching the videos and they REALLY help- it is like an island of relief in a world being bombarded with fast food commercials-

                    Thanks! See you here often!

Hi Carol, hi everyone. I just found this thread today and hope to take part lots. I've new to Atkins, this is my 3rd official day. I'm really liking the way of eating. It will be really nice to have some friends my age to share with. I am not computer literate, and am having trouble figuring out how to change the ticker (or even how to add information to it like I see on others), and how to have my picture appear by my name.. and even how to "join a social group". I'm sure I'll get it, lol. Have a great day everyone, I'm really looking forward to talking to you.

Welcome back non -- I wondered where you were!! Alice, I hope you'll stop often and join in - same with you itty....

Don't worry about not being computer literate - before I started here I didn't even know what a "board" was....I thought it was something you built something with...now I know it can be so much more. Although we are building things here -- self esteem, self respect and self love with each pounds we loose.

Stop often, the more you do on the Atkins site the more you'll get out of it.

                          Hi Carole, hi everyone

Well I must say, I'm really enjoying exploring the different threads. I'm getting lots of ideas and even though they were directed towards others quite a while ago, lots of encouragement too. Non, I found your comments yesterday quite interesting and I agree 100%. Dani, my husband, and I were just talking yesterday about the commercials. I had said that we are just bombarded with pizza and candy and junk commercials all the time, no wonder we want that stuff!!! One of my favorite movies (Deep Impact) starts out with the guy eating the most amazing pizza... without fail, I get a pizza to finish out the show!!! What vidoes were you talking about??? Have a great day, keep up the great work.

Good Morning! I just came in from my 20 minute morning walk...I love Fall!! Since I have no access to exercise facilities(I live out in the sticks!) I have made a walking track around my back yard- it is 1/2 acre and very beautiful. 20 minutes in a circle may see odd to some, but I love it! And I have the feral cats to help!

The videos are by one of the mods and they are GREAT!

                            They are actually on U-TUBE...

I sat down last night and looked at where I have come from and it made me so mad! I started this journey in 2004 at 225 lbs, coming out of an unhappy time and marriage- I got down to 167 thanks to Atkins and e-Diets and my pals there-I kept between 170-175 for 4 years just by watching what I ate, but still ate all the regular stuff on special occations-

MY excuse/downfall was when I decided to quit smoking on March 9th of this year- YES, it was a wonderful thing to do, BUT I used food as a crutch- I KNOW BETTER!!!!! I felt terrible all Summer as the pounds crept up one by one...(two by two!!)- I hit the big TWOVILLE again and NEVER thought that would happen- so the party is over and the REAL party is just beginning! My size six jeans are hanging there waiting for me to take them somewhere fun!

That is my story in a nutshell- Low carb is the easiest way in the world to live- you can eat out, carry your lunch, feed your family- easy! BUT our SOCIETY will sabotoge you every step of the way- I let them lull me into it again and I am MAD. I will NOT happen again! This time I am here to stay and I WILL check in and play even when I hit my goal of 150!

                            AND WE WILL PARTY!!!

Hi Carole! Hi to all over-50s! I'm way over the 50-hump and heading on that downhill slide toward 60, but no matter ... always good to hear what everyone is up to

I just want to get back down to 150 (was so close...just a pound away ... and then seemed to lose my mojo ... and gained 10 of it back) and STAY THERE. It's a healthy weight for me and that's all I ask

oh boy Non, can I ever relate to you. Last Sept 11th one of my daughters was married, oh what a fabulous day. I had just lost 30 lbs and was down to 189, I was in a size 14 jeans and it was wonderful. Well, I stopped weight watchers to get through the last couple weeks before the wedding, and never looked back... had gained the 30 lbs back by january, and I've been furious with myself ever since. I just couldn't get the momentun back AT ALL, until now. Now, I'm 5 days in, have lost 5 lbs, and I feel wonderful. And thanks to this site, and friends, I have the motivation back. I don't think your walking track seems strange at all, I think it's wonderful and totally ingenius. wtg girl!!! Thanks for the video link, I'm on my way there now to check it out.
