    Hey there "Snowy" I guess you could say we had a snow day too, at least for school buses. These days, the school board decides to cancel buses if there is bad weather coming. This morning, taking my DH to work, the roads were slushy, now, they are bare and wet with the temp at about 38 degrees F. It's supposed to rain/sleet/snow later when the temp drops below freezing. Hopefully it waits till after I pick up my DH It was raining while I was scraping the slush off the driveway, man that stuff is heavy!!
    I think I'm done all the squares and trim for Jenn's baby blanket. Now I have to tuck all the ends in, and sew it together, 36 squares in all.
    Today I'm doing housework, laundry etc. I did stop for groceries before I came home from taking DH to work, and I'm thinking of cooking up a couple of dishes for the freezer, like Taco Bake and Whooshie Pie (I love them both). I'm also waiting for our fixed TV to come.....phone.....That was them, and they are on the way to deliver the TV. So hope your afternoon goes craftily, hee, hee, hee. Talk to you soon.

      I would say your close enough Mick....if the other ladies don't mind you joining us!! We have been watching the snow today -- it's snowed all day and nothing stuck - best kind of snow days to have! My brother called and said they had about 15 inches (we'll be going up there on the 19th - so I hope it's better weatherwise then!).

      I've been having a lot of flushing because of the Niacin I take....I changed from taking it at night to morning because I always felt like I was on fire when I was in bed. Well, I forgot to change taking an aspirin from night to taking it in the day along with the Niacin - that's suppose to help stop the flushing. I've been sitting here for over an hour feeling like my whole body is on fire so I went to WedMD and saw the aspirin deal....so I'll do that starting tomorrow.

      We had spaghetti tonight...mine on zuchinni noodles...it was really good. I'm so glad I took the time when it was so hot this summer to make spaghetti sauce!! I am really enjoying it now.

      I only have a couple presents big left to wrap. I wrapped about 10 this afternoon - they were mostly funny little gifts (a box of instant oatmeal for the hubs, a jar of peanut butter for mom...stuff like that...lol).

      Ok, it's time for me to get in bed. Hope everyone have a wonderful week!

        Carole - hope you are feeling better. You are so on top of things, I'm such a procrastinator...still haven't done any decorating or wrapping.

        Here and on plan. Ate so well yesterday, home all day with/hubby. Lindas Cabbage Roll Pie w/eggs for breakfast; pizza salad for lunch - then made hot dogs and zuchini for supper - very good day.

          Wow, all that food sounds great ladies! I was so rushed today, I ended up eating 2 cheese sticks (NoName brand marble cheese in a stick shape, individually wrapped), and 2 oz of roasted almonds. Now I'm going to make supper, whooshie pie, yummy! Talk to you soon,

            I've never made whooshie pie -- heard about it and have the recipe just have never made it. I have a recipe for "just like kol dormers" that I'm going to make....kol dormers is a dish I learned to love when I lived in Western NY state. They are little cabbage rolls but this recipe is everything except rolling them up...

            1/2 head cabbage chopped
            12oz ground beef
            1/2 - 1c onion chopped
            1 - 28oz crushed tomatoes
            2 Tbsp brown sugar substitute
            2 Tbsp white vinegar
            1tsp salt
            1 c cooked rice (I'll use cauliflower or just leave it out)

            Brown ground beef & onions. Add cabbage and cook until it wilts (5-7 minutes)
            Add tomatoes, brown sugar substitute and vinegar and let simmer until all flavors are combined.

            I love this!!!! Can't wait to make it. I need to go get some hamburger so I can make it!

              kol dormers - sounds great! The first time I made 'whooshie pie' I didn't care for it; the 2nd time added more onion and more seasonings - and loved it. I like it for breakfast with eggs.

              just had pork loin w/cauliflower for breakfast - mm mm good!

                Hi Everyone! Just got through reading all that I missed. I love to hear what everyone is up to! This BP med is making me so lethargic- getting through an 8 hour day at work is about all the gumption I have! At least I am getting my water in most of the time.

                Gotta go grocery shopping today-our snow is about gone-we had enough for the ground to LOOK whilte, but still had green spots- but it WAS bitter cold and the wind was just WILD!

                That recipe reminds me of Stuffed Cabbage (or pepper) Soup- I will have to try that!

                  After starting out a little shakey this week I'm managed to rebound and am happy overall with what I accomplished.

                  This morning I bolted out of bed thinking it was Sunday....it's not.....but it's ok. Since I thought it was Sunday I got on the scale....and I have no idea why, because I only weigh on Monday....maybe I need a calendar in the bathroom to keep myself straightened out...LOL! Even though I'm totally confused I'm not confused about what the scale said -- the last time I weighed was 2 weeks ago - and I was 186. This morning I am 181. YEA ME! I'm trying to get into the 170's before the end of the month....I'll take 179 please!

                  I'm a little concerned because we're leaving for Iowa on Saturday and will be back here on Tuesday - quick Christmas run....we may need a sleigh with all the snow they've gotten this week! We'll be eating in the hotel room fairly often because we have a 2 bedroom w/full kitchen & living room so it's easier! There will be a couple meals eaten out but we pretty much eat at the same place (Panara Bread) once for lunch, so I'll get a salad & be fine. The night they have chicken & noodles I will find something else to eat - I don't like that meal to begin with (never did) so when I don't eat it no one says anything! Breakfast will be eggs/sausage or eggs/bacon so that's no problem. I won't have access to a treadmill so I'll have to get out and walk in the snow - hoping for some warmer weather!!

                        Thank you non & mission......it took a long time to figure out that I had to eat ENOUGH food....I wasn't eating enough for so long and just couldn't get it through my thick head what the problem was. Also, the treadmill work is helping!!! Non, I'll be watching over my shoulder for you....bring it on...ROFL!!

                          I can't wait to start losing again, Still need to drop the last 1#of the 4# ( I think it was 4#) that I gained by not eating right with the flu.

                          And today, I am ok on my eating, water, and went to the club this am...but I am totally overwhelmed with what I need to do to catch up in the house. Cleaning mail, paperwork, laundry, Christmas cards, decorating, the list goes on and on and I don't know what to do first!!!! Wednesday was the first day I didn't stay in bed most of the day!


                          My 22 year old wanted to come over today to make massive amounts of our family's traditional Christmas cookies. This will be our 2nd year of the 3rd generation making these. They look nothing "Like" a Christmas cookie, but it is a cookie we have made for now the 3rd generation. I will have no problem baking these delicious little gems, I am beyond temptation at this point, so that doesn't worry me. But it will take most of the day. So I had to cancel because I am not ready to start a new mess right now.

                          We made 40 dozen last year. We give them to everyone, and everyone loves them. So now my son loves the attention he gets when he passes these out to people or brings them to his office. And we need to keep some for Christmas Dinner, too. Last year his girlfriend helped, but my son was careful not to divulge all of the ingredients/and measurements. After all...it is a "Family Secret Recipe".

                            congrats carole. I decided to hide my scale for a week [actually someone challenged me] - so no weighing until next Friday. That will be weird since I weigh all the time.

                            Went to a show today, lunch before had a chicken salad...then saw Grease, it was so much fun! Having some taco salad for dinner. Feeling great.

                              Hi Everyone! I made cabbage roll caserole yesterday- no rice- and it was/is yummy! BUT- the cabbage gave me terrible painful gas- crazy, huh? GRRRR.... and I was up 1.5 lbs on the scale....so that will be a "special food".

                              I also made the Mock Danish- interesting! And it is sweet enough to banish a cookie/cake attack. Thanks!

                              Feeling pretty depressed this holiday season/ work hours cut/money tight/little sun/lots of cold. And all the "family" stuff on TV is tough when you are alone- but I really don't want to admit anyone into my life- tired of the pain it always seems to cause. Selfish of me, I know.

                                non - sorry to hear you're alone, it must be tough. Do special things just for you, have lunch with friends, start a great project, etc...try to fill your time.

                                Here and 'basically' on plan. I will admit to a couple of xmas cookies yesterday. I had to make cut-outs and 'give away' cookies for a cookie party next Sunday. Wanted to make sure they were 'worthy', so I did sample ~ and yes, they were very good. I also had one piece of pizza. Had done well all weekend, but yesterday - let down just a little.

                                The next two weeks will be the challenge, xmas treats at work, xmas party, wedding next Saturday - just have to plow thru and do the best I can. Good luck to all!
