Make eating almost a "chore" so to speak. It will help you concentrate on other things and make the time fly. And remember, You know you must exercise when your brain is telling you not to...don't lose the struggle, fight it! :nod :hug

I am on extended induction just like Mary is. But all are welcome here of course.

Alrighty, this weekend I am going to start taking tally of everyone and every body so we can start keeping track.

This sunday is my monthly weigh in, I am so nervous. I know I have lost tons of inches, but sometimes the number on the scale helps a little for motivation.

alrighty, to all have agood night.
Right now I enjoy concentrating on Atkins so much because it keeps me motivated. I may be obsessing a little but so be it, I stay motivated and do well when I do this. After I get used to this way of life, maybe I won't obsess so much but for now, this is the way I have to do it. :nod

I am on owl, but on about 25 carbs or less. I also have been trying to limit my menu as far as cheese and dairy because I fear I have a candida overgrowth. I had my 1 year anniversary last week, but haven't lost since January... I haven't gained more that 5 lbs, either, and the last of that just came off today. Yay! Challenges rock! Good luck to all!

I have such a big challenge coming up next week. My husband and I are going to stay at my in-laws in Florida for the week. So I don't know if it is rude to bring my own food? They are serious carb eaters, pie every night, POTATOES with each meal, you know what I mean. I just got married 2 months ago so these are new in-laws. I feel like I'm in such a crisis!!

I'm sure your inlaws will understand. Do what you need to do, don't let other people step in your way of success. You know that succeeding at this WOL is worth the effort!

Just be careful, there are plenty of people in our lives that will try, either intentionally or not, to deter us from succeeding. "oh one bite won't hurt you" or "you certainly deserve to have just one (whatever)!". These people don't know what's best for you, just smile and say no thank you! You can do it

As for when our next weigh-in is, how about next saturday, the 25th?

I'm feeling slightly discouraged today. So far, the scale has been more or less going down even a little each day. Today's the first time it fluctuated up more then a pound and a half, to 249.25. I know intellectually that it's because I've been exercising really hard this week, three times harder then I have been, including weight lifting. I can even tell that my pants are looser then they were a few days ago... Yet the stupid number on the scale has me down! :no :no

I think I will give up weighing myself until our next weigh in. I will try to measure my success by trying to get into the size 22' pants that I have been trying to fit into to. I can button and zip them up! Just can't breathe while wearing them lol.

Hope everyone else is feeling good about their successes today!

Here it is day two and I am already wondering if I have goofed! Fridays are always a bit wierd b ecause of my schedule; anyway, for lunch I had an atkins bar. Probably a no-no, but I will NOT have anything else til dinner (except for plenty of water.) Except for that I have been very good about not eating between meals - including that dangerous after-dinner-all-evening-snacking that was a part of my past life!

I will be traveling for the next weigh in, so I will post my results on the 22nd.

              Thanks for listening!

                HI, ALL!

Punkin, you're so right! :yes I went grocery shopping today, and now I have much more to choose from...but, as you said, I must look at it as a way of life, instead of looking at the next meal as a thrill or something to get overly excited about. I need to concentrate on getting excited about other things, besides FOOD!

WOW! Sarah, you're jogging! :wave You're my inspiration! I'd love to be able to see this "middle of mine" move."

CONGRATS, Sillyann on "moving the scale!" :icondance

Khiliah, today is Day 4 for me (Cheat-Free) Induction, and I know what you mean! Every baby step is a BIG STEP for us! :hug

Mchristensen, my goodness...what a challenge! I think you're doing the right thing, though. Follow your instincts, and you won't go wrong. When you think about cheating, just pull out a picture of yourself (that makes you want to lose weight, and read your "Fat Blasters" contract to remind you of your goals. I'll be thinking about you this weekend. Also, try to get online when you feel weak, so that we can talk you out of cheating. :joy

Mary-chan, don't get down on yourself. Think of it this way, at least you've seen some progress, :icondance heck, I haven't seen that much progress, but I'm hoping that the 25th, will light up my EYES and lift my spirit!

Doris, have a safe trip! :wave

As for little ol' me, well, I'm a "BIG" me right now...my belly says it all!

Breakfast: 3 eggs in olive oil w/ 4 slices turkey bacon. YUMMY! I was licking my fork.

                Lunch: Mince and broccoli

Dinner: Mince and broccoli; piece of salmon

Water: 5 glasses so far. I need to do better on my water intake!

Snacks: 2 large cups of Decaf coffee w/ total of 9 sweet & low packets...yeah, I have got to tone down the sweet & low intake...I just need to start taking off one packet every other day. What do you think?

My energy level has been low today. :anger I had planned on starting my "walking" today, but I slept too long. EXCUSES...EXCUSES...gotta stop this.

                Talk to ya soon! :wave

Everyone is doing so good. Congrats! I remembered to eat lunch today.

                  Here is my menu:
B: 1 oz of mild cheddar cheese
L: 1 hamberger pattie, 3 oz of chicken, 2 tbsp mayo, 2 tbsp low carb ketchup
D: fajita taco salad with cheese (yummy)

Drank all my water, took all my supplements, but I couldn't get much excercise in today (sigh). Maybe tomorrow.

Hope everyone has a wonderful atkins friendly weekend, I know for me the weekends are the hardest part. I am relativly young (23) and all of my friends go out quite a bit, this usually involves drinking which I am currently trying not to do much. Oh well, maybe I'll just stay home this weekend and lose some more weight.

Mary-chan - don't be discouraged your doing great, look at you, you are just melting away. keep up the good work sweetie, you'll be in onderland before you know it.

Silly-ann - i am so absolutly positively jelous of you, anytime your ready to hand over the wooshie fairy i'll send you my addy with a map on how to get to my house.

Khiliah - what an amazing deal! I wish i could get into something like that over here.

Everyone have a wonderful weekend, trip, expedition, whatever you have going on this weekend enjoy yourself.

I, _Yankee_ swear to be faithful to the Atkins Way of Life in order to become healthier and look and feel better about myself. Whether facing fluctuations of the scale, fourth of july picnics, birthday parties, or mean jerks who want to tear us down..., I will not waver in my determination to the promise I have made to myself on this day! For I know that if I am true to the Atkins WOL, health and confidence will surely follow!

My goal is to _at least 60 lbs lighter__ by christmas (or the end of the year).

I know that when I achieve my goal, I will __completely enjoy our DisneyWorld vacation the week before Christmas___.

And I promise that when I am having trouble, I will come to my fellow teamsters to help! In addition, I will help my team out by also providing encouragement, wisdom, and understanding when they need it.

I'm off to the grocery store. Please say a prayer that I stick to my guns and buy those foods that will help me! It's very hard, as many of you know, when you've a family to cook for who don't need to be on the Atkins plan.

Breakfast this morning was two links of sausage and 24 oz of water as that was the only thing in this house that wasn't carb-loaded.

Yup I'm a jogging machine but, now I am getting a nice cold darn it. It's been raining here for over 2 weeks straight and there are flood warning and evacuations now so it's pretty nasty wet here and I think that's why I'm sick. DARN IT. I'm sure I'll feel better in the next day or so today was supposed to be running day but I'm gunna have to take it easy maybe I can do it later after my sons b day party if anything tomorrow I can.

Ya, I can run pretty far for abig girl I am in great shape. Running for 1 hour isnt easy and it has taken me quite a while to do it. But I am so proud of myself and anyone elese who even attempts to do anything that they couldn't do before.

I better run have a ton of stuff to do.

                        Take care

Theatrelover: Instead of the Sweet-n-Low, you might want to gradually move to the Splenda since it is the recommended sweetner in the NDADR. It only has 1 carb in each packet and really tastes better than Sweet-N-Low. At least I think it does. Just a suggestion. They say the other sweetners make you crave. I don't know since I haven't used them in a long time. My husband is a diabetic and we've have the Splenda in the house for some time now.

Welcome to everyone and hope you are all as excited about this challenge as I am. I changed my weigh day so it would coincide(sp) with this challenge. My husband tells me I have a lofty goal of losing 40 lbs. by Christmas but I think if I work really hard with the program and exercise really consistently daily I can make it. :wave

Thanks Punkin for the advice; I'll buy the Splenda tomorrow.

Today was a so-so day! :sarcasm I had cravings for something sweet...even pasta, but I didn't cheat... :nod thank God! Instead, I opted for a Wendy's Chicken BLT salad w/ Honey Mustard Dressing... :yikes ooops, the dressing was already half-way finished before I realized it had sugar in it & wasn't fat-free!

Exercise?? Sarah, could you tell me how I should start out and how to work up to where you are; I'd love to accomplish half of what you've accomplished! :wave

My contacts are so dry right now; so I'll talk to ya later! I'm also a bit sleepy. Good Night!
