Well, I gained the weight I thought I lost. Went to visit family and they were very uncooperative as far as dietary needs go so I did the best I could with what I had. A lot of damage can be done in five days. I'm back on track as of this morning - worked out, ate right, drank lots of water. That weight will be gone gone gone if it knows what's good for it. And I think I'll CALL my family instead of actually visiting..... LOL!

Sigh.... I reread the jump start portion of the book and that's what I'm starting today. I did fine just yesterday but we went out last night and I drank three margaritas and munched on chex party mix. Where's the water...........

I went out today and ran my but off outside I'm not sure how far I went but I ran for 1 hour and 40 minutes so I thinking ZI went around 12 k pretty freaken awesome.

I burned about 1200 calories so I think that's pretty good.

                  • Re: CC "Fat Blaster" challenge!

Haven't checked in this week yet. I joined Curves this past Thursday. Since I started Atkins I've been walking on the Treadmill. Well, it got where it couldn't hold the speed of 3.0 with me. The speed would drop to 2.8, 2.5, 2.3 etc. That just wasn't cutting it. After a talk with the DH, we decided it was cheaper to join Curves than buy a treadmill right now. I just love it. It is such a good workout. I had trouble getting my heart rate up into my fat burning rate on the treadmill; now my heart rate is too fast doing the circuit training at Curves and I'm having to slow it down. I love being able to exercise all the various areas women have trouble with rather than just walking. Any that are tired of their exercise routine might want to give it a try. The cost is only $29 a month. I got in for a down payment of $74 and my first month free. What a deal.

My weight has been hovering about 239. I like the 239 part, it's the lowest weight I've had so far. That makes it 22 lbs. altogether. I hope Curves is going to make a big difference in my weight loss as well as getting on the right amount of thyroid medication. My inches are coming along as well. I expect Curves will also aid that as well. I'm looking for good things in the near future.

Note about Curves: the cost is dependent on where you live. I am in metropolitan Washington, DC and I pay $49/mo and I think I paid about $100 down.

I agree with you though, I love Curves!!! I've just been having trouble making the time to go.

That's cool that you joined curves! I've been wanting to but need to wait until I have a little extra money before I can pay the installation fee thing. I'm sure you'll be seeing results in no time!

WOW, $49/month, that's double what I have to pay. What do the machines cost double in your part of the country or what. No kidding, I didn't realize it was different in different parts of the country. I just thought it was the same everywhere. That's a little steep for my pocketbook but I do enjoy going. This morning my hubby and I went walking at the local mall at 6:15 for 2 miles then when he went to work I went on to Curves and did the circuit training. I logged all this exercise in the President's Fitness Challenge and completed my first award. I did at least 30 minutes of exercise for 5 out of 7 days for 6 out of 8 weeks to accomplish this. Actually I did it in 6 weeks and did it all but one day of those 6 weeks. Now I'm going for my bronse medal. Watch out Jimmie Jo, here I come.

Sounds like everyone is doing sooo aweosme Way to go on the exercise. I ahve my universal and my treadmill cause with 3 little ones I can't afford to go and I also have a dayhome so it's not feesable.

I did awesome yesterday I jogged 7 miles or 11.3 kms I drove the rought and that's how far I jogged I was sooo impressed with myself what a great day. I even did this jog outside which is awesome. I love jogging outside and the stupid thing is it's easier then running inside LOL. Funny how that works. I can go way farther outside probably cause the treadmill is really BORING. LOL But I do it.

So how is everyone elese today hopefully doing well I am excited for the next run WOOHOO. Hope I can do it outside but if I can't I'll live with the treadmill.

Firstly I want to say a great big congrats to Doris for getting to Onederland Weigh to go and I can't wait to join you there!

All of you sound like you have the exercise bug for sure. It's great to hear everyone sounding so upbeat and full of energy. I'm doing my bit but need to step it up now as I feel I have become a little lazy in the last few weeks. I'm still doing my body combat classes, some weight training and have just bought myself a skipping rope which is great fun, just need to do a liitle more walking as the weight lose seems to have slowed up a bit in the last month.

Also, I have been a little disheartened by the fact that I had to buy some new scales as I have been borrowing some every week for my weigh in's. It's great to now have my very own set but, even though weigh in isn't until friday, I jumped on this morning to christen them so to speak, and they had me at 218. Last friday the other set had me at 216 so either I have gained weight or the new scales are a little different from the others, either way, I now wish I hadn't! Well I hope friday brings better news. Have a good week and I'll come back to chat asap as I believe that in times of small increases, we all need the support this board is so great at giving to get us back to a positive mind set. Bye for now.

Yea, the home scales always seem to be different so I depend on the one in my doc's office. Haven't dared to go though! The slips in past week or so have really set me back and I don't want to further depress myself by knowing the full extent of the damage! I think I'm finally making headway though. The worst part of going off plan is that I retain a huge amount of water and my feet and ankles swell so much I can't get my shoes on. They looked almost normal this morning and I feel 100% better. I really missed the energy this woe brings!
