  • Mea Culpa MaxiBear and Michele! See, I knew I was forgetting people!

    MaxiBear: Glad to hear that you're back on track! Of course, it's also great that you realized that you can have that one slip and get right back on program. So, let's not call it a slip, but a learning experience!

    Michele: Maybe your homework should be to post more? Since we're all going to be together for some time, let's get to know each other better, ok?

    2Big: I haven't signed up for an exercise challenge. After doing this for over a year, I know my limitations and exercise challenges are one of them. I just don't do well in those challenges. If anything, they demotivate me! However, I will commit to you, right here, that I WILL exercise 3 times this week!

    • doitnow :hug check out the TDL it isn't like any exercise challenge you have ever seen. it is open enrollment by a super heavyweight for super heavy weights yep I know about feeling like Rocky on top of thoise steps caus eI just walks 2MPH for 20 min and didn't collaspe! :joy that is what it is about

      you just decide and post I will do my walking 3 tinmes this week for 1 lap each then next monday you post yipEEEEEEE id made my goal my new goal for next week is to finish the lap in less the one hour ( or whatever you decide is your goal based on your physical abilitiy at the time) and then the next week you post YIPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP I didn't think I could be I did it in 59:59 wooo heeeeee next week I will try for 58 or if you don't like the walking you say next week I'm going to do my new exercise videoo 3 time and you come back and say man I can't do that tape Leslie is killing me what what do y'all do and the memebers say I love walk awqy the pounds slin in 6 30 min aerobics L ike pliates I love yoga and they help you with your exercise. Ican terll you i never whould have tried pilates if I hadn't see somebody else in the topic posting about it and ask her what it was and did it hurt knees. same for my fitness ball workouts.

      Give us 2 weeks and if you really don't like it you can be abducted by the aliens and not rescued if you want of course you will always be a memeber and folk will check on you to be sure you are okay.

      • 2Big: Doing the exercises is not an issue for me. I can easily do an hour on a treadmill on an incline with no problem. Posting that exercise is another story. I don't journal, I don't count calories, I don't like to be accountable to anyone else to exercise a certain amount, a certain way, etc. That kind of thing doesn't motivate me. If it works for you, fantastic, but it doesn't work for me. I hated boot camp precisely for that reason. I hated feeling obligated to report. Yes, I have problems with authority too! However, thanks for trying to get me involved.

        • I lost 6.8 lbs since last weigh in. Going to be stuck at work all weekend with all the snow we are expecting. talk to you all soon

            Warsaw come out come out where ever you are. You know for a guy with a whole room full of ladies you sure do play hard to get.
            Coming to be playing with a 8 yr old this week so I will not be on the site as much and I know a lot of the new yr resolve is wearing off and you newbies are in the post induction hesitation period and it really is a hesitation in sclae pounds lost and is normal for all weight loss programs not just Atkins. Please don't think it has quit working for you check your clothes check your tape measure and watch those inches of fat melting off your body.

            Happy low carbing gang and be safe and active even in that nasty weather up north.

              hi everyone I've been very busy. I'm in boot camp and it takes up alot of time posting. But I ding very well. I have gotten my blood sugar down to 126 without meds. yeah!!!

                  I FINALLY hit the 30 pound mark yesterday! I got on the scale today just to make sure I wasn't dreaming and, yup, I'm still at 30!

                    I haven't gotten on the scale this week; however, I have done 3 days of exercise. My hip flexors are just killing me! Amazing how long it takes to get used to exercising, and how fast we lose it!

                    How's everyone else? Are you hitting the four major points of Atkins? Eating on plan, drinking your water, taking your supplements, exercising? That was your Atkins commercial break. Hope you're all doing well and that Whooshie comes to visit you tonight!

                    • Hey what do you say we all get to know each other better? Since we're in it for the long haul, let's find out what we have in common, ok?

                      I'll start. I've been on Atkins since November 2003 and I've lost 58 pounds. Seems like a long time since I started, but really, it's flown by. Sometimes I wonder why it took me so long to find a program that works for me, but then I think that everything happens for a reason. Maybe all those other failures at dieting (and keeping it off) were just to prepare me for this day.

                      My goal is to lose another 36 pounds in 2005 AND to continue to incorporate exercise in my life. I have to admit that the exercise is the hardest part for me. It's so easy to talk myself out of it. And yes 2Big, I know it's non-negotiable!

                      How about you? What motivates you? And, all you newbies, are you adjusting to life after those first glorious weeks on induction? Has your weight lose slowed, are you still motivated?

                        • total weight loss for the past week 1.5 lbs, it is really hard to be active with the snow and the cold, and most days I just feel like hibernating in bed. I promise I will do better.

                          • WOW I finally found a few minutes to pop in and say hello. Sorry I've been away for so long. I fell off the wagon big time.. not sure why though and plan to start induction again Saturday. I always have to start on a Sat...lol I will however eat right tomorrow but won't count it as day one of a new clean induction. My weight loss is now only 10 lbs instead of 15. Man that weight comes back quick if you aren't careful. That's the hardest part about this to me. It's cold and rainy here today so I will probably just exercise at home today.

                            I got to remember I'm going to the beach in July!

                              come on you got the same 24 hrs as everybody else you can find time to do your Atkins if you make it a priority.
                              go to that myvirtualmodle.com site and make you a copy of you now and you at goal weight and carry tehm with you for some attitude correction should you start to falter again.

                              fina have you gone to your local lib and checked on teh exercise videos you can check out for some fun workouts inside? congrats on the loss so far. keep shrinking!!!!

                              Hey at least you are staring that exercise issue in the eye and not ignoring it like so many. I know what you mean about the time on Atkins just flying by. At some point it just becouse a part of us and we don't even have to think about eating we just automatically fix Atkins foods for our level drink our water and at the end of the day when we plug it all into fitday or whatever we use bingo it is right on for us.

                              Lets see to answer your questions I've been doing Atkins since June of 2002 and actualy hit healthy body fat weight in Oct 2003 but didn't know it cause I was using the BMI charts for goal weight and with all the lean body tissue I had from being a 300+ pounder and then eating all the protein 30% on Atkins and working out I'd added even more. when at 173 pounds I saw my doc and he said you can stop losing now I had those fat googles welded to my face and said I still got lots of pounds to go. when I finally got the body fat calculated, I was 14.9% at 167 pounds. (I would urge all of you to watch your body fat % as you go down and not the scale weight as I will never get the BMI healthy weight but I'm under weight based on Body fat)
                              my motivation is I know I'm one carb away from letting that 300+ pounder in my before pics back in control of my body so I run from her and stay close to my CCLM and don't stop exercising as I got to se just how low my CCLL was when I didn't exercise back when I had my knees done Spring of 2004 and that is scary giving up all those healthy OWL foods cause you don't exercise and gain weight eating them. ( we will not discuss the unhealthy carbs I wolfed down in my munchie binge later that spring unless one of you need a big scare to get back on the Atkins WOE wagon cause you jumped off.)

                                Hey good news and bad news. I didn't finish boot camm due I couldn't log on for a day ecause site was down and then I coldn't log on because y comuter was down. good news is that I' still on atkins and doing find. I do have a trip to san Antonio this weekend and hoe I don't low it. thanks for the great information and support on this board.
