  • All right Desertthorn! Keep up the great work!

Yup I have read three versions of the book (before net carbs, net carbs and the latest with the low carb products) I know what I am not suppose to do....but does not mean I can control myself all the time.

HOWEVER...saying that I have totally stayed on track....now I do need work on my water intake and exercise. I am struggling with energy. I think I will move onto OWl Friday once my two weeks are up. however last time I did that I really sucked at beign patient and moving up the ladders right!! :nono

We are a great group of ladies......and I scare you all cause I will demand that PJ picture posted publically if anyone continues to cheat! LOL :nod

            • Do you guys have room for one more?

I just re-started on Tuesday. So far, two cheat free day and two days of exercise under by belt! Still having trouble getting all of that water in. But doing better than before. It was great to read all of your posts and see the wonderful support.

So, what, if any, between meals snacks is everyone eating? I'm looking for ideas................

              Best to all!

                • Alesam, I've decided that you are my hero - way to make it through induction again! And thanks for coming up with this challenge!

Question for everyone : What goes through your mind when you forego a cheat? What are you saying to yourself to stay on track when tempted with something?

Thought the answers might create a good mantra whenever any of us are tempted or need motivation.

I'm usually stressed and feel frustrated when I think of foregoing a cheat.

But, I say to myself IT AIN'T WORTH IT!!! In order to stay on track!

Sometimes I might smile a little bit and think about how far I've come from the yucky feelings I once had before starting Atkins and also I envision how closer I am to my goal size/weight, and if I eat that tempting food I won't get there, only setting myself back.

So, that is how I handle these types of situations. HTH

When I think about having a cheat, I think back to every time I've cheated before. It always starts an out of control carb frenzy. See i am one of those all or nothing kind of gals. If i cheat I might as well plan on weeks of out of control behaivor and at least 10-15 pounds.

the further into this I get the easier it it not to cheat. My longest run with out any cheat was just over a year, It was truly one of the best years I've had it my life, socially, emotionally and physically.

                          • I like cheese also for a snack, celery dipped in Ranch dressing, or celery with cream cheese. Pork rinds are good, but I have found out that I need to stay away from sodium cause I really retain the water. The 3 pounds that I lost (I said 4 but I can't count, it was 3) was because I have stayed away from pickles and pork rinds and cheese.
But pickles are another good snack and they really help if you are craving sweets cause your body can't tell the difference between sweet and sour.
                            Welcome new folks.

                            • Ok you are sweet but truely I am no hero! I am here too....starting over and over and over......

For snacks....Hmm pickles are good. Chesse sticks (good portion control). I chop up slices of jicima, turnip and celery root put in water in fridge and grab a few when I need to snack....good crunch! Later in OWl I love almonds, soy nuts and strawberries!

Ahh cheats....in the past I tend to fold on special occassion. Figure enjoy the moment.....but then guilt leads to a huge binge and then I struggle to get back up. For some reason this time I feel stronger....i want to feel sexy again. My children are getting more independent (2 and 3) and want to regain some of my old life back...like dates with my husband....the days when I put on a dress and makeup and felt good about myself.....i am eady to return to those days!!!!!
