Re: Welcome to the Second Time Around Club

Hi - first time on a message board - winging it with the signature etc (would love to put pic up but not sure)...
anyway, I'm here to receive and offer my support as this is my second time on atkins. about 2 years ago i dropped 3 dress sizes in 3 months and it was sooo easy!

i have no excuse as to why i put it all back on - all i know is that i have failed about 30 times since then on the induction phase - so ive decided to join a board to help me through. i started today and I WILL SUCCEED. i want to drop a dress size by february and then another by april then another at the end of may.

i am determined to succeed - my mind is on it 100% now xxx

Think this is the place for me too - have been definitely OFF my Atkins over the holidays but have re-started induction as of this morning.

Gained 5 and a half pounds but I know they can come off fast - am a member of Curves and will be aiming to lose at least a stone by my birthday in March.

Re: Welcome to the Second Time Around Club

Hi, everybody! Whew, glad this forum exists! I've been getting more and more lax about my eating (and WAY lax about my exercising!) since October. I haven't stepped on a scale yet to see what the damage was, but I've gone from a loose 16 to a tight 16, so I know it's 5 or 10 pounds. Time to get things going the other direction again! Today is day 2 of reinduction for me.

This is also my second time around..Well I am starting 2006 over 30lbs heavier than I started 2005, not a great progress, that I was hoping for.. In fact I am ashamed with myself..While I was on Atkins for 20 months, I felt, on top of the world, weight was coming off and everything seemed possible..

My health has suffered from allowing myself to gain back weight and I do not feel at all like I did last January..I have really "hit rock bottom," and am ready to start all over again..I want the skinny me back again, I want to reclaim good health, self-esteem & self-respect..I have had enough!!!! I want to change me, so that I don't eat or bing while I am tired or stressed out.. I want to lose 10% of my weight, so help me, this is my Goal..Started back January, 5, 2006, so far so good..I will not be weighing myself until next Thursday.. CU Malka

                        Hi Malka!

I hear you on getting back to the feeling good and healthier body. Did the same and I really miss how I felt.

Hold on to that. It will help you get back to where you want to be.

(again) my Blood Sugar has always been in a Normal Target Range.. Losing 6lbs and Normal Target for my Blood Sugar, can I ask for more??? I am one Happy Camper..And I am not a young Chick, I am in my early 60's.. So Folks if I can do this most people younger than I can also..CU Malka

                            • So glad to have found this place

Where have you been all my life? Hello all, I am new here...just found this board Monday Jan 16, 2006. I needed just a tad bit of motivation and (bam) here it is. Re-started induction Yesterday...YEA! I feel pretty good (water logged) but good. My head was clear this morning but I have quite the headache right now.

In Jan. 2004 I started Atkins after reading DANDR and lost 45 lbs. I have kept it off for the most part and never reached my Goal Weight (just 15 lbs more) Now I'm back with an additional 7 lbs (blasted Holidays) I cant tell you just how many times I started failed and restarted...Now; today, is different some how...I just know that with this board and my NEW mindset...I'm going to make it.

I am usually more of a lurker but I realize I must post everyday and stay true to you and me. If there is any advise out there I'm all ears.

I'm off to gain more knowledge....

I, too, am back again. I lost 27 pounds on the first trip, but got caught up in the articles of eating too much fat...brainwashed after years of reading too many magazines. I know they write to fill pages, and yet I fell for it. I need support, so I hope to find it here, and hope to help others. I have a 'lived in depression years' mindset, so find it hard to get rid of foods that are not good for me. So, I'm giving everything away that I can, and thinking the rest can either keep me unhealthy or be thrown away..(groan.. ) Good luck to everyone on this new forum site.
