      Re: Thorns Trials

Hi guys. Okay today is day 2 and I am feeling better but not completely back to normal. My menu ended with more tuna salad cause I just wasn't interested in cooking, so I had tuna for both lunch and dinner with lettuce and celery, pickle, all induction legal.

This morning for breakfast I had another bowl of yogurt with blueberries, a cup of coffee and X my fingers, no sign of a yeast infection yet. My plan is to include the yogurt and the cranberries/blueberries until I have finished the antibiotics, but keep to legal diet for the rest of my meals. Walked to work, home, work, home and then out to town. Got in at least two miles.

2big, my daughter suffers from sex induced bladder infections and **** I could always keep track of her sex life because of it. LOL. It was so bad she had to take a "after" pill of a strong antibiotic.

Thanks for the encouragement guys. Your the best

Hey, I had "honeymoon cystitis" for MONTHS about, um, many years ago! Like your daughter. I ended up not only having a cystoscopy (NEVER do that, folks) but being on low-dose antibiotics for about 6 months, which meant a chronic yeast infection, too. I am amazed he still married me......

Desert, hope you're feeling better today. I'll be thinking about ya'.

Coconut oil in coffee?? How does it taste? I'll try anything once!
The coconut oil actually doesn't taste bad! It's got a very very slight coconut taste and it makes the coffee very rich. I actually found this at another low-carb BB for very active low-carbers. They were talking about how it really boosted their workout, they could run longer, etc. I've since heard about and read alot of stuff about it that seems to be good. IT's high in saturated fat but since it's a natural vegatable source it's not bad for you in small amounts. I was able to find it at Wal-mart with other oils for very cheap (a big jar for like $2.50 or something). I've only been doing it for a couple of weeks and I don't know if it helps, but I feel pretty good so it's not hurting!

I have been reading all sorts of good things about the coconut oil too. Let us know if you see any difference elfish.

Hopefully you are on the mend Desert. Got my fingers crossed for you!

You know, I started thinking after I posted that about the coconut oil. I have fibromyalgia and usually have some joint pain somewhere, but the last few days I haven't had any really. Hmmm... I'm trying to get more sleep lately, too. At least 8 hrs (normally i'm only able to get 4-6). Maybe it's the combo. Don't know if there's a connection but I'll keep you posted.

Hi Deserthorn, how are you feeling?

Elfish, that's very interesting. You say it's located with the other oils in the store? I may have to try that! I have a cousin that has fibromyalgia. (sp). She is miserable. I don't know how open minded she would be to do Atkins (she does need to lose some weight) or other remedies. Maybe I'll suggest it and see if she changes her address so I can't find her.. LOL

That's were I found it at Walmart. Honestly I expected to have to go to the health food store to get it but I didn't. I'm sure they would carry it too but I don't know if it would be any better.
Atkins is supposed to be good for people with arthritis and other inflammatory things like fibromyalgia. The amount of fat in the diet is good for our joints and the foods that are restricted are usually the things that contribute to inflamation. Caffeine, sugar and acidy things like citrus are all things that cause me to have joint pain. I can feel fine in the morning, have a reg. coffee and 20 minutes later I'll be in pain. If your cousin is really suffering, she should be willing to cut back a little on some of those things even if she doesn't go full-blown atkins. Weight makes a lot of difference too. You should bug her to just try and don't tell her it's for her weight, tell her it's for the FMS .

Thanks Erica!! I might copy & paste some of this and send her an email. Maybe she'll think about it if it comes from someone who is also suffering from the same thing and getting relief. Or maybe you could just mail me your story about how Atkins has helped you feel better?

She's my favorite cousin. We grew up and went to school together. I would do anything to help her.

                          Re: Thorns Trials

                          Morning ladies.
I am going to GNC to see if I can find some coconut oil. Sounds great.

I feel a bit better today, but I have yet to have breakfast.
Went out to dinner last night and I DID IT, I found a completely Induction Friendly dinner and at a Japanese/Italian place also. I had a green salad with a poached egg on top that was barely cooked and it looked suspicious, but what the heck, eggs are Atkins staples and I'll try anything. Yep it was barely cooked, mostly raw, but it was delicious.
Then I had this gratin something with beef, mushrooms and cheese and water.
I did it I did it, Yeppy, I did it.
So except for the yogurt and blueberries, I am on track.
                          Thanks for your encouragement.
Still haven't found the tape measure, but I know its here someplace.

You really have done a great job of keeping at keeping on track and didnt use it as an excuse to "take a break".

Yogurt and blueberries arent the worst thing in the world to eat. You will be back in tip top shape before you know it!

I am not sure I could have done the egg thing though. <shivers> Im not a big egg person but runny eggs really do me in. <shivers again> is it getting cold in here?

                              Goodmoring all,
Well yesterday (Saturday for me) went well, I tried a new dish in Dana Carpenters 15 min recipe, Chicken Breast, Alfredo sauce, Broccoli and Caul. It was okay, nothing to write home about. Again, stuck to plan, but my infection isn't going away. My back started to hurt again and Im feeling feverish. I need to call the Doc on Monday and see if what he gave me works on the infection I have cause this is stupid.
I think Ill double up on them today....
Anyway, while I didn't use fitday, I did stay on plan
Today is Sunday and Brook suggested that we cook up stuff to snack on when the snack attact happens.Thats such a good idea. I got a pork roast and I am going to make Chili LIme Pork strips with it. (Not much of a recipe, chili, lime juice and pork strips, but then I use the pork in omelets, in wraps with lettuce and in a salad, to add protein to my meal. Its pretty good. Also would you believe that the grocery store had red peppers cheaper than green ones? Boy that was a shock, so I am going to cut them up into strips with celery an some cherry tomatoes for a go and grab snack.

                              I am so determined.

Today is the last day of Sumo, they have 15 day tournaments every odd month so I need to wait till next Sept for then to happen again.

I have never had the experience of a uti and dont envy you this one bit. There has got to be something that will clear this up so you dont continue to suffer with this.

I put a roast in the crock pot and have it sliced and ready to eat at will. I love my crock pot.
