    Re: Thorns Trials

    Hi guys,
Well I don't want to say this to loudly but i am down 3 pounds this morning)
Dinner last night was left over potroast and it was pretty good too with the potato juice even.
This morning I had my usual 5 med strawberries and a 1/2 cup yogurt. Lunch, which couldn't come to soon will be salad with my chili lime pork and I took salmon out for dinner. Oh yum
    Exercise tonight at the gym.
I still have a half bottle of pills to take so I guess I am going to be on antibiotics for another week or so. but no sign of a yeast infections so thats cool, the yogurt must be working. !!!!
Thanks for all your support. This forum is so cool. I love it.

                      Roast recipe. HUM

Oil in pot, heat, sear a hunk of meat,(cheap stuff cause we are going to cook it to death) add onions, celery, potatoes and carrots (if you have someone in the family who eats them otherwise do yourself a favor cause they are sure temping and cover with with water, turn on low and cook until the meat is so tender it falls apart. Actually you can add any veggie to the pot that might be wilting in the refrig or a can of tomatoes. Actually the broth is really the best part, but since I am never sure about the potato water or carrot water, I limit it to like a taste.

This morning I was down another pound so I guess the 3 pounds wasn't a fluke, but I went to the gym and did low impact arobics and that kicked my butt. The instructor said that you need to do something arobic at least every 24 hours even if that's just 5 minutes a day, more is better, but I guess I can not use the "Im to busy" excuse again. I always have 5 minutes. And to my friends out there who are not exercising. Guess what,,, You have 5 minutes also.

You guys are so awesome. How can we get everyone to start journaling

                        Re: Thorns Trials

I began a journal last week and find it helpful to just go an ramble on. Kinda like chatting with yourself and thinking about your day and how you did ...... or are doing.

If someone posts great if they dont, it still helps.

I love to make pot roast. Had some tonight at the buffet meeting I was at. Mmm Mmm Good!

Good for you Desert dropping those pounds!! You go girl. You have definately earned it for keeping on track with the meds you are taking and trouble you have been having.

Maybe my potroast for dinner tonight will reward me in the same way........ Not that I will know as I am not using the scale.

No we surely cannot say that we havent got 5 minutes to exercise. No more excuses!

                          Re: Thorns Trials

Just a suggestion about the potatoes/carrots in the potroast.
I am sure that a long while ago someone posted that it is better to cook and serve them separately to anyone who wants them as they add a lot of starch and sugars to the liquid.
I usually use only 'legal' veggies to avoid problems.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

                            Re: Thorns Trials

Yeah, thats why I was waiting for the 2big shoe to drop. LOL
Well, scales popped back up and the only thing that I can think might be a problem is cream, I added that yesterday **sigh**. So now no cream and no cheese.
Had two hard boiled eggs and 3 slices of jicama for breakfast. (Boy, I know your mouths are watering over that one, LOL)
Dinner was kind of interesting, while it did have sour cream. I cooked cauliflower (actually nuked the frozen kind cause its creaper) and added it to fried ham, mushroom, and onion and then added a half cup or so of sour cream to kinda tie it together. So yumm DH loved it and it took about 10 minutes to go from start to finish. It would really be good with broccoli also, maybe even better. Humm

Notice I am not mentioning exercise. After my big lecture about only needing 5 minutes, I didn't even do that. SAD BLINKY. Exercise has got to be my biggest nemesis and damn if anyone has any suggestion on how to get me motivated, I would appreciate it.

Oh, now those of you who know me, know that just over 4 months from now, 4 months and 6 days (but who's counting) I retire and go home. Well yesterday I got a call from one of the big bosses in Italy asking me if I would apply for a HUGE promotion at her shop. It would mean,
3 more years with the org, (Bad) in Europe (GOOD)
                            Big raise (good)
Another deployment to the middle east (BAD)
You know, I won't take it and I won't apply, but I really needed that boost to my ego because once I started to talk about retirement, I was treated like a leper by some of my bosses, and after 23 years that really hurts. So, this made me smile and DAMN, I am still smiling

                              Congrats!
