Well, I was static this morning which is always a bit depressing, but oh well. Life goes on!

At least you aren't gaining madpoet!!! I'm back down to the 2.6 pound loss so that makes me static too. But when the scale jumped up I began to get anxious so I'm glad it's back down this morning.

Do you ever have a day where you just *feel* like you are going to lose? Today feels like one of those days. My pants just feel a little looser and my belly doesn't feel so bloated. So maybe, maybe, just maybe tomorrow will show some lower numbers I hope!!!!

        Hello all,

Doing good so far. Today is day 5 for me. I can't really say craving have totally gone away yet, but I'm controlling it. Mindy, I know what you mean about just feeling like you've lost. I'm not going to weigh for while, but my abdoman feels less bloated and flatter. I have a feeling when I do weigh I will be pleasantly surprised. The first time around doing Atkins I started in January and didn't weigh till March. Everyone has a most marvelous Friday!!!

Don't let yourself get hungry cause your body will hold on to the fat thinking that your in starvation mode.

Today I don't feel like eating at all, migraine struck and I'm probably off to bed with a water bottle.
Yemen, hope you are feeling better. Migraines are plain nasty things and I can really relate.

Madpoet:Well, I was static this morning which is always a bit depressing, but oh well. Life goes on! I know how discouraging it is, there is a post somethere on this board about weightloss and how it often doesn't drop daily. I have found, by reading tons of posts that in induction we lose mostly water weight, then there is a little hesitation period, a day-two-week, where we don't lose anything. Its like a diet ajustment thing. Then you start to drop about 2 pounds a week. SO don't get discouraged if the weight loss doesn't happen daily.
But many folks have noticed that when they are not losing weight, they are dropping inches. You might want to go find those tight jeans and try them on. YOu will probably be pleasantly surprized.
All I have been showing for my 9 days (9 - can you believe it) cheatfree, induction is a bad taste in my mouth. My scales are somewhere over the Pacific ocean..on their way home, so I don't know if I am doing well or not.

That is probably a blessing in disguise! Funny, when I was on my cheat binge, I chose to stay away from the scale. Instant denial! Now that I'm back on induction, I'm weighing every day......

              Hi everyone,

I'm not new to Atkins or this board - I've just always been a lurker on here. Well, I decided to start posting this time around. I'm sure the support will help! I actually restarted on Atkins on January 1st, so even though I hadn't seen this post beforehand it all works out. I was on Atkins for the summer and lost about fifty pounds, and then I went off to school and got very lax with my eating habits. Luckily, I only gained a couple of pounds by December, but I certainly didn't lose any more. So I'm back and ready to get closer to my goal now. So far my re-induction has been going pretty well; I've lost the few pounds I put back on in the fall.

Today is gonna be a test for me.... I amin the National Guard and I have drill today and tomorrow. Which wouldn't be so bad except I am a cook in the national guard so all day today and tomorrow I will be around food. I think all will be well though. All I have to thinkabout is that steak thawing in my fridge that I am going to have for dinner, and I can get by with just eating salad for lunch if our meal is not acceptable for atkins. I am filling a gallon jug of water and taking it with me so I can make sure I have it.

Otherwise doing well onthis WOE. Lost 2 more inches off my waist actually about 2.5 woohoo I amnow back under a 40 inch waist... down to 38..... I will have my 32 inch waist again! YAY!!!!! I got on the scale two days ago and am going to try not to get back on until the end of the 14 days. Although I am almost positive I am back to my pre-backslide weight of 219 so hopefully by the end of induction I'lll be down to 210 and getting close to Onderland. I would love to be there by V-Day at the latest. That would give me a reason to celebrate themushy holiday!!!

Anyway Ya'll have a great day and I'll check in later to see how ya'll are doing

                          Hi all and YEMEN,
Nice note to get everyone gathered. My work pile was attacked and in place. However we are going through a reorganization which we have told people everyone's job is secure. Frankly most people will do much better in the upcoming year. However, the majority of the folks are concerned and are worried. That bothers me because I feel when people come home, the job should be the furtherest from their mind. This will continue on for about a month and then I think that most of the folks will be happy. But one can never satisfy the whole.

I kicked off a Biggest Loser Contest at work and we met Friday. Monday is the first weigh in. The contest is 12 weeks long. Two divisions, men & women. $5 up front, all money for the winner of each division. Only percentage of weight loss will be communicated to allm. Only one person will know the exact weights of all contestants. We have some finicky women. But as of Friday, we had 22 entries, 11 men & 11 women. I think we might get a couple of more folks Monday. So this will be intereting.

Hope all are doing well and thanx for the note to all.
                          Cheers

Hi, me again, just checking in. Glad to see that all of you are doing so well.

I am doing very well too – 6 days cheat free! One problem, I am not in ketosis and have not had induction flu yet??? But, some good news, I am down 3 pounds since I’ve started on the 2nd, so now I am back to my weight before Christmas (and the big cheat).

The no smoking was going very well until Wednesday when I had a cigarette. I had a choice – a cigarette or a chocolate – I think I chose wisely! Went smoke free again until last night. So far today – NO SMOKING!!! Hope I can give it up completely by the time I have to go back to work on the 16th.

Keep up the good work on loosing those pounds!

I can't wait to read what happened over the weekend. Sounds like you have a good job in a great organization, you must be very proud! And your planning ahead is very thoughtful. I hope you can have some induction legal food besides your salad, before you head home for your steak. Hope you have a good weekend,

Tania, do you use ketostix to measure ketosis? How and when do you measure?

If the punds are going, that's what matters. And I think giving up smoking adds additional stress to your body, so it has to deal with cutting carbs and nicotine detox at the same time, probably you are just retaining water or your metabolism has to take its time to adjust to both changes.

Good you didn't eat the chocolate, although grabbing a cigeratte wasn't a wise choice

Good luck on fighting the nicotine monster, and have a great weekend
