Wow, look at the date, its almost at the half way point. We need to start thinking about going on to OWL or Extended. Have you thought about what you want to do. ?

OWL or extended... I'll decide that after a step on the scale on day 14, I guess. If the numbers aren't too bad, I'll go for OWL.

Desertthorn, you are way ahead of us, congrats to 10 days cheat free. What will you be doing, OWL?

Today I feel like having a huge cup of coffee with a decent shot of anything alcoholic. I'm cold, even a hot bath and turning up the heating doesn't work .. hope I haven't caught the real flu. Maybe I'll treat myself to a cup of decaf in a coffee shop tomorrow, as reward me for a clean week.

If the punds are going, that's what matters. And I think giving up smoking adds additional stress to your body, so it has to deal with cutting carbs and nicotine detox at the same time, probably you are just retaining water or your metabolism has to take its time to adjust to both changes.

Good you didn't eat the chocolate, although grabbing a cigeratte wasn't a wise choice
I am using Ketostix manufactured by Bayer and I measure first thing in the morning, because that is what it says on the instructions. But as you said, as long as the pounds are coming down, I don't have to worry.
Yes, I know that I should not have smoked, but the cravings was going to get the better of me, and I really did not want to cheat and start all over again.
But, I will stop smoking, I am determined! Just as I am determined to loose this weight.
          Have a great weekend!

I am starting a clean induction again today. I guess I shouldn't post here, huh?

Funny me, I always feel welcome everywhere on this board. I started out here with you guys, then bad things happened. Anyway, here I am. <sigh>

You all are doing fabulous, though, I am so proud of the way this group has stuck to it. Bravo!

Tania, I wish you the best of luck, girl. Quitting smoking is the worst. My SIL has been going through that. Wow, everybody suffers.
After spending the summer with my Dad and bladder cancer, I can tell you that you are making the best choice! He is well now, but he was so close to having a bag the rest of his life. Wow. So, good, good for you. Hang tough.

Im going to go to OWL and at least add another cup of veggie and see how that goes. After a week of that, will see about the next step. I'm sticking woith you guys though and going to continue induction until, what the 15th I think.

How about some hot cocoa. Take a 1/4 cup heavy cream and 1/4 water and warm in in the microwave, then add a pack of splenda and a about a T of unsweetened cocoa. Its great and induction legal on these cold winter nights.

Well Today wasn't so bad.... we had swedish meatballs for our lunch but they weren't really swedish meatballs, just meatballs done up wih basically a sauce /gravy type thing made out of beef soup base. And we had a veggie medley of broccoli cauliflower and carotts. I really don't eat anything but carrots, but I did actially eat 2 small helpng of the brocolli and cauliflower and passed on the carots. Everyone else had their meatballs over noodles,Ipassed on them. Oh and I made 4 full sheet trays of Chocolate cake and didn't lick the batter once.

Tomorrow we are having roasted chicken with peas (yuck) and mashed potatoes, so I will have chicken and salad.

On a side note my commander did notice my energy and the weight loss in my face. He stopped me to ask me if I had lost weight so I told himhow things were going and everything. Told himmy goal is to pass my pt test and be able to make tape by JUNE so I can get promoted in July just in time for my birthday!!!! He was realy cool with taht idea.

Anyway so far so ood onmy weekend... hope everyone elses is going well.

                            Hi ShannonK,

Thanks for the motivation, I need it! Like you said, everyone around me, especially DH, is suffering. Glad to hear that your father is ok. This is why I’ve decided to stop now - suffer now and be healthy later! I just hope that I can keep this up. Today is day 2 for me, and so far it is going well with the stop smoking.
I will report back later today on keeping up with the challenge.

Good morning to you all and have a great Sunday!

Yesterday I was shopping at the oriental market at the corner of our street and I bought a bunch of fresh spearmint. Makes a lovely bright green tea which is good cold and hot - may help me to up my water intake more easily.

What are your plans for today?
