  • Re: Kentucky Derby . . . . . . Keeping on Track

Good evening everyone! I hope everyone had a great day! TGIF!! Today's menu consisted of turkey & bacon for breakfast dipped in mayo (I know sounds gross); vegetable soup for lunch; macadamia nuts for snack; more vegetable soup (and meatloaf) for dinner. The vegetable soup has zucchini, tomatoes, celery, and green beans. If I get hungry later I'll snack on an oz. of pork skins. I've managed to get up to 70 oz. of water in the last two days (haven't been drinking much...just not thinking about it).

Oh well, I'm going to get off of here. I worked from 8:00 to 7:00 and I'm worn out!! Later!!

Gee Sunny, I step away from the board for a day and I find out you're in a bad way. Looks as though a doctor needs his skinny butt kicked. He doesn't want Cat, Kass and I to come there and do a little Durby dance on his head. I'm happy to see that you're feeling better today! I would definately file a complaint to the Administrater of UVA. Some documentaion on file is important. Never know, you may need it in court some day. What's important is that you're feeling better. So sorry that happened to you .

Hey girls! Thanks for all the good thoughts, prayers and offers to kick his skinny little butt. He was kinda cute, but dumb...real dumb! I am way better, but have done too much today. I am in a world of hurting, right now, so I'm not going to try to catch up, I'll just say hello.

As usual, when I'm down ond out, it's my turn to bring treats for my Sunday School class. I baked tea cakes for most of them, and brownies from Linda's site for a man that is diabetic, and has been having a lot of trouble. Usually, everything is full of sugar, and he can't eat it, and last week, someone brought brownies and he was drooling at the smell. I hope these are okay--I hate chocolate, so I didn't taste them--they look just like regular brownies.

Sweets--welcome! We have a lot of fun on this thread and everyone is very supportive. I was scared to come off induction, but when i did, I had a big woosh! I wish I'd done it sooner. Just be careful and go by the book. A bunch of us are in the Lose the Love Handles Challenge, so we really need to stick to it through the holidays.

Kass--I made myself go into the toy department and I got several things. I ordered and have already received the Shrek the Third DVD for the 4-year-old.

              For the 4-year-old (Damian):

              Shrek DVD
Monster Trucks, Hotwheels size for stocking
Flashlight (all kids love flashlights) for stocking
              Mittens
              Sticker book

              For the 7-year-old (Tyshawn):
Spiderman III Pj's (this was on his list)
Spiderman vehicles, Hotwheels size for stocking
              Flashlight
              Gloves

Now a question: I found the Disney Pixar's cars for under $10 at Wal-Mart, and I fell in love with them. Do you think I should get both boys one each, or is it too babyish for the 7-year-old??? I have picked more than one that I like, and I'm afraid that if I give them all to the little one, the older one will want them, too.

I had to put the clamps on buying the other night! I saw all kinds of things I wanted to get them, but I don't even know them, and don't know what they already have. I saw the neatest stuff for their rooms! Sigh...I wish I had more grandkids! I love kids!

I better take a shower and go to bed--long day tomorrow and it starts early.

              Sunny!

I have to keep this short as I'm so worn out. It's been a day for you. I'm doing the water challenge as well - that is wearing me out!!

Sunny, I'm glad you're feeling better. The offer still stands to kick the cute, dumb doctor's butt.

Hey Kassoria, a size 7 sounds heavenly. I'm 5'8" so I'd look like a stick at a size 7 (or maybe not since I've inherited a big booty from my daddy's side). LOL!!

Hey Sherri, where have you been? No more hibernating!!

Oh, Marty , come out of hiding!! I will find you.

Hey Sweets, come back and join us soon!

I didn't eat much today...on the go. Had a bacon cheeseburger (from this small diner - delish)! I cooked some green beans and cucumbers to eat with it (although fries would be divine). Tonight I had vegetable soup. Snack: macadamia nuts and pork skins. 72 oz of water down the hatch!!

Good-night my good friends. Talk to you in the AM.

Hey everybody.... I tried to get in last night but the cable link was screwed up!! My goodness... I can't leave you guys alone for a minute can I???

Sunny: I am on my way as soon as Kass gets here.. She is further West than I, then to Cat's house and we'll be right there. I am so glad to hear you are doing better. I have sent up a prayer for you.

Kass and Cat: I am also looking for the size 7... That is where I was the last time... of course I was about 35/36 then and it was easier than now. I found once I hit the shhhh..(40's) that it is harder to do. I will take a nice fitting 9 without the love handles.
My DH, DS and I did what is called Christmas Caravan for Kids. It is put together by the Colorado 4x4's with the Marines for the Toys for Tots. We get together in our Jeeps, Trucks and misc. rockcrawlers caravan to the fairgrounds where we collect/donate toys. We stretched for miles. It was great.

Sweets: Glad to see you here. Let me tell you, this is a great place. These women have been instramental in my mental health and my will power. I really don't think I'd be here without them. Stay with us... We are a lot of fun.

Going to hit the bed. Talk to ya Later!!!

Good Day, Kass, Sunny, Cat, Marty and Sweets! KASS, you're doing so great at your workouts! Proud of you hon! You are so focused, you'll make christmas goal for sure at your pace. SUNNY, those are some lucky boys you bought gifts for. They're going to be so happy! You are such a kind and thoughtful person. Even when you're not feeling 100% you're thinking of others. I love that about you! CAT, I'm not ready for hibernation yet. LOL I get side tracked real easy though. I've got alot going on with making Christmas gifts and baking for my DD choir bake sales. It was funny, night before last, I made chocolate & walnut fudge, almond roca and peanut butter double chip cookies for the bake sale. I had bought these little snowmen goodie bags to fill up with the goodies. DH and DD chipped in to fill them with what I had made. By the time we were done we had packaged all of it. Nothing left for them! Guess what? They didn't complain about being left with just the crumbs. LOL, Success! MARTY, You're such a busy gal! I love how involved you are with your family and the community. The Christmas Caravan sounds like alot of fun. I like to donate to Toy for Tots. It's such a great cause. I like knowing that maybe I put a smile on some childs face on Christmas morning. You're a great person Marty, I love your sense of humor too! Have fun decorating! Sweets, you are certainly well into Ketosis now. You are definately feeling the effects of it. You're menu looks great! That's something we like to post here. I've been slacking in posting it. I'll have to get with it. You're getting the right idea by feeling how your clothes feel rather that getting on the scale. It's time that the tape measure becomes your best friend rather than the scale. Our bodies fluctuate throughout the day. It would drive one insane to continue hopping on and off. Once a week is sufficient. Did you measure before you began your journey? Also, it helps to keep a weightloss journal. I have been writing in mine for over 3 years now. What's great about it is that your journal reffers to you only. It's great to look back and see what you were eating and how your body was responding. It's a great refference in so many ways. I'm glad you joined us here.

I want this mirror for Christmas!!!!

Hope everybody has had a great day today. I did other than my team forgot to show and play.... Oh well, there is always next year.

Have I told you guys lately just how Awesome you are??? A big supportive hug.

Have you guys ever tried the cheese "crackers" that are made out of american cheese slices?? they are really good. Found them on Linda's I believe under appetizers or misc. Just slice a piece of american cheese into 16 squares, put into a circle on parchment paper and microwave for approx. 60 seconds. They come out like little cheese crackers. You get 16 crackers for the price of one piece of cheese. Should try it for a snack.

Can someone tell me where you find liquid Splenda?? None of my grocery stores carry it... HELP!!!!

Have a wonderful rest of your night.... Later

                            Good evening everyone!!!

Ok Marty, when you find that mirror buy two...I'll reimburse you. I have not tried the cheese crackers because I don't have the premium cheese she suggested. However, I might try the regular cheese to see how it does.

Hey Sherri!! Man all those treats you fixed. That would have been pure torture for me. I'm going to go buy some whey protein powder so I can fix the peanut butter fudge on Linda's site.

Hey Sweets, they've told me to keep all the scale too but I'm so addicted (hey, at least I can admit to my weaknesses). Good job staying on course.

Sunny, it's so great that you're doing this for those little boys. They might not have a good Christmas otherwise. God will bless you for your generous heart!

Hey Kassoria. I so wish I could join you in the exercising!! However, I forgot to tell you that my last PT session was Friday because my back rarely hurts anymore (just stiffens really bad). I'm going to have to find some exercises I can do to lose these love handles lest I should never have joined the Lose the Lovehandles challenge.

Well, I am going to get off of here for now. Later!!

HELP!!!!

Yuck! I don't like American processed cheese food! We are not supposed to have it. I made up a recipe for cheese crackers that are just too good. They get me in trouble!

The liquid Splenda has to be ordered. There is only a couple of days a month in which you can order. You can probably find out where to order it from on the kitchen chat forum. I've never ordered it because I use so little of any kind of sweetners. I've never liked anything sweet. I mostly use it to make stuff for my diabetic friends.

People who say it can't be done, should not interrupt those doing it.
